Numerals

There are two types of numerals in Armenian: cardinal and ordinal.

Cardinal numbers show quantity.

Մեկ-one
Երկու -two
Երեք-three
Չորս-four
Հինգ-five
Վեց-six
Յոթ-seven
Ութ-eight
Ինը-nine
Տասը -ten

✓ After ten, numerals are formed by combining the multiple of ten with the unit number.

Տասն+ն+մեկ-տասնմեկ-eleven

Քսան+երկու-քսաներկու-twenty-two

Քառասուն+չորս-քառասունչորս-forty-four

Իննսուն+ինը-իննսունինը-ninety-nine

✓ Numerals from 11-99 in Armenian are written together a one word.

MULTIPLES OF 10

Տասը –ten	վաթսուն-sixty
Քսան-twenty	յոթանասուն-seventy
Երեսուն-thirty	ութսուն-eighty
Քառասուն-forty	իննսուն-ninety
Հիսուն-fifty	հարյուր-one hundred
After 100, numerals are written separately.
Հազար-thousand	միլիոն-million

Ordinal numbers show order. They are formed for numbers five or by adding –երորդ to the cardinal numbers.

For numbers five and after ,all ordinals are formed the –երորդ suffix to cardinals.

Հինգերորդ-fifth

Վեցերորդ-sixth
