#65: 南京 人 和 他们 的 大树

南京 是 一座 特别 的 城市 ， 它 是 中国 六个 朝代 的 首都 ， 也 在 二战 中 几乎 被 毁灭 。 但 现在 的 南京 也 不 平静 ， 今年 春天 发生 的 一件 事情 给 我 留下 了 很 深 的 印象 ， 这 就是 南京 梧桐树 事件 。 和 很多 城市 一样 ， 南京市 的 街道 两旁 有 很多 大树 。 这样 的 街道 ， 就 叫做 林荫大道 。 无数 树叶 长 在 一起 ， 就 像 很多双 手臂 保护 着 人们 。 夏天 ， 大树 的 叶子 挡住 了 阳光 ， 给 人们 带来 了 清凉 ； 冬天 ， 树叶 都 掉 了 ， 让 阳光 给 人们 带来 温暖 。 谁 不 爱 这样 美丽 的 景色 呢 ？ 更 值得一提的是 ， 南京 的 大树 有 七八十年 的 历史 ， 有 一些 还是 中华民国 的 时候 种 的 ， 这些 树 ， 见证 了 中国 的 发展 。 但是 ， 今年 3 月份 的 时候 ， 南京市 政府 却 决定 把 大树 砍掉 ， 因为 他们 要建 地铁 ！ 他们 没有 告诉 市民 ， 更 没有 问 他们 的 意见 ， 就 开始 砍树 。 人们 发现 他们 的 老朋友 被 砍掉 了 手脚 ， 觉得 又 难过 又 生气 ， 于是 开始 抗议 政府 的 行为 。 市民 走 到 街上 ， 给 大树 系 上 绿色 的 丝带 。 上千人 聚集 在 一起 ， 抗议 政府 的 行为 。 政府 首先 没有 回答 市民 的 抗议 ， 后来 ， 才 决定 停止 地铁 的 建设 ， 并且 邀请 市民 参与 讨论 。 事件 就 在 市民 的 胜利 中 结束 。 近几年 在 中国 这样 的 事情 比较 多 。 政府 太 重视 经济 发展 ， 就 忘记 了 保护 自然 和 传统 。 随着 网络 的 发展 ， 人们 知道 并 关心 更 多 的 事情 。 这次 南京 梧桐树 事件 中 ， 网络 就 扮演 了 很 重要 的 角色 。 一些 名人 在 网上 发表 了 自己 的 看法 ， 这 引起 了 人们 的 关注 。 随着 人们 越来越 关注 社会 发展 ， 知道 自己 有 什么 权利 ， 人们 也 就 知道 ， 让 一个 政府 有 很大 的 权力 ， 却 没有 人去 监督 它 ， 是 一个 灾难 。 南京 的 历史 就 像是 整个 中国 的 历史 。 从 这件 事情 我们 可以 看出 ， 中国 人 开始 更多地 关心 民主 ， 勇敢 地 发出 自己 的 声音 了 ， 这 是 很 好 的 一步 。


#65: 南京 人 和 他们 的 大树

One thing that happened this spring left a deep impression on me. This is the Nanjing Wutong tree incident. 和 很多 城市 一样 ， 南京市 的 街道 两旁 有 很多 大树 。 Like many cities, there are many big trees along the streets of Nanjing. 这样 的 街道 ， 就 叫做 林荫大道 。 This kind of street is called the Boulevard. 无数 树叶 长 在 一起 ， 就 像 很多双 手臂 保护 着 人们 。 Numerous leaves grow together, just as many double arms protect people. 夏天 ， 大树 的 叶子 挡住 了 阳光 ， 给 人们 带来 了 清凉 ； 冬天 ， 树叶 都 掉 了 ， 让 阳光 给 人们 带来 温暖 。 In summer, the leaves of big trees block the sunlight and bring cool to people; in winter, the leaves fall and let the sunshine bring warmth to people. 谁 不 爱 这样 美丽 的 景色 呢 ？ Who doesn't love this beautiful scene? 更 值得一提的是 ， 南京 的 大树 有 七八十年 的 历史 ， 有 一些 还是 中华民国 的 时候 种 的 ， 这些 树 ， 见证 了 中国 的 发展 。 What is worth mentioning is that the big trees in Nanjing have a history of 780 years. Some of them were planted during the Republic of China. These trees have witnessed the development of China. 但是 ， 今年 3 月份 的 时候 ， 南京市 政府 却 决定 把 大树 砍掉 ， 因为 他们 要建 地铁 ！ However, in March this year, the Nanjing Municipal Government decided to cut down the trees because they wanted to build a subway! 他们 没有 告诉 市民 ， 更 没有 问 他们 的 意见 ， 就 开始 砍树 。 They did not tell the public, and even without asking their opinions, they began to cut down trees. 人们 发现 他们 的 老朋友 被 砍掉 了 手脚 ， 觉得 又 难过 又 生气 ， 于是 开始 抗议 政府 的 行为 。 People found that their old friends had been cut off and felt sad and angry and began to protest against the government’s actions. 市民 走 到 街上 ， 给 大树 系 上 绿色 的 丝带 。 The citizens went to the street to give the big tree a green ribbon. 上千人 聚集 在 一起 ， 抗议 政府 的 行为 。 Thousands of people gathered to protest the government’s actions. 政府 首先 没有 回答 市民 的 抗议 ， 后来 ， 才 决定 停止 地铁 的 建设 ， 并且 邀请 市民 参与 讨论 。 The government did not answer the public's protests first. This is a very good step.
