In farewell, the fairy gave Cinderella crystal slippers and warned her that Cinderella must return home before midnight, because at midnight the carriage would turn into a pumpkin, the horses into mice, the coachman into a rat and the footmen into lizards. Everyone was very surprised, because Cinderella was again in her old dirty dress, and no one recognized her as a beautiful stranger who was at the ball. And Cinderella, to the surprise of those around her, took out a second crystal slipper from her pocket and put it on her other foot.
