Nature, A magpie thinks she is a dog

A magpie thinks she is a dog

This story began a couple of years ago in the Gold Coast suburb of Queensland, Australia.

What happened then marked the beginning of a long and happy friendship between a magpie and Staffordshire terrier.

A woman was walking in the park with her pitbull when she saw a small magpie in the grass that had fallen out of the nest.

The chick looked terrible, because its feathers, which were just beginning to appear, were covered in thorns, dirt, straw.

The woman called her husband and decided to see if the chick could fly away.

Subsequently, they realized that the little magpie did not survive on its own and decided to take the magpie home and named she Molly.

Woman fed the magpie special bird food and decided to introduce Molly to the pit bull Peggy.

According to the hostess, magpies have already attacked Peggy, so she knows what a sharp beak they have.

Therefore, when the bird went to the side with four legs, it immediately jumped back.

However, she did not try to hide or attack.

The owners continued to take care of the magpie, and tried to establish contact with Peggy.

To do this, when the pets were nearby, they treated them to a treat and played with them.

The contact was made when Molly herself came upto Peggy and lay down beside her.

The dog did not run away, but only pressed closer, doing this very carefully so as not to hurt the small creature.

This was the beginning of a tender friendship.

When Molly recovered and grew up, the woman decided not to limit her freedom.

The magpie can fly in and out whenever it wants to.

Sometimes she may not be there for several days, but she returns to the family again.

Peggy and Molly are always together.

But Peggy, due to her age, cannot run and play all the time.

So, she sometimes pretends to be asleep.

Instead of flying away, Molly learned to bark.

The magpie seems to have begun to identify itself as a dog.
