Laura and her three children are in the kitchen. Laura is cooking meatballs in a pan for dinner. There is cooking oil and kitchen roll next to the pan. The radio is playing music.
The baby is not happy and starts to cry. Laura goes to him. She holds him and calms him. After the baby is calm, she talks to her other children. The radio is still playing music. There is now smoke coming from the pan.
The meatballs are now on fire and there is more smoke.
The fire gets bigger and there is now lots of smoke. The smoke alarm starts to beep. Laura panics. She is holding the baby. She shouts to the two big children to get out of the house. She grabs her phone. Laura and her children leave the house. She closes the door to stop the fire.
When they are outside, Laura calls 999. The call handler asks her, “What's the emergency?”. Laura shouts “Fire!”. The call handler asks if anyone is in the house. Laura says, “No, everyone is out of the house”. The call handler then asks Laura for her address. Laura says her address.
Five minutes later, the fire brigade come. They put out the fire. Laura's neighbour also comes to check everything is ok. The neighbour asks if everyone is ok. Laura says “Yes”. The neighbour also asks if everyone is out of the house. Laura says “Yes.”
