A Trip to Glasgow - A story by New Scots

Fatima and Fadia are sitting in the kitchen drinking coffee. They are bored.

Fatima asks Fadia, ‘do you want to go to Glasgow today?'

‘That's a good idea' says Fadia. ‘I need to go to the Arabic supermarket.'

‘Do you want to go by bus or train, Fadia?'

‘We've never tried the train. It would be an adventure but I am a little scared.'

They decide to take the train. They go to Kilbirnie train station and buy a return ticket. The train is already on the platform, so they get on quickly. At the next stop, Fadia looks out the window and sees the sign. It says DALRY.

‘Oh no!' she shouts. ‘We are on the wrong train Fatima. We are going in the wrong direction. Quick, get off.'

‘What are we going to do Fadia? We are lost!'

‘Don't worry, Fatima. The number 25 bus goes from Dalry to Glasgow.'

An hour later they get off the bus in Glasgow. They are late but they still have time for shopping.

They decide that they will not take the train again!
