The Fox and the Crow
This story is by the Greek writer Aesop.
This story teaches us to be careful.
Fox is walking in the grass.
He sees Crow flying over his head.
Crow has some meat in her mouth.
"Mmm!" says Fox.
"I'm hungry! I want that meat."
Crow flies to a tree.
Fox sees her.
Fox thinks, "How can I get that meat? I know what to do! I'll talk to her with nice words."
Fox walks under the tree.
He talks to Crow.
The fox says very nice things.
"Hello, beautiful bird. Your wings are so nice. And your eyes are so beautiful. Can you sing songs? I love songs!"
Crow is very happy.
"What a nice fox!" thinks Crow.
"I will sing him a beautiful song."
So she opens her mouth and sings.
The meat falls!
It falls down in Fox's mouth!
He eats it all.
"Thank you!" says Fox.
"I give you nice words, and you give me meat!"
"Oh, no!" says Crow.
"My meat!"
"No! No! No!" says Crow.
"I want my meat! I don't want your words."
Fox goes away happy.
Crow goes away hungry.
She flies away to look for more meat!
