「頭 に きた ！」と 言う 表現 が あり ます が 何 が 頭 に 来た んでしょう か ？

血液 です よ ね

頭 に きた 時 に やる 気 が ない 人 は いま せん よね

それ と 同じ ように です ね 人間 頭 に 十分 血液 が 回って いる 時 と 言う の は

どんなに 疲れて いて も やる 気 が 出て きて モチベーション が 出て くる と 言う こと で

そういった こと でも 感情 を コントロール できる

そして 最後に シーズン の 最後に もう これ 以上 回復 が 間に合わない ―

体力 の 回復 が 間に合わない と いう 時 に は です ね 香り で コントロール する こと も あります

要は 鼻 は 脳 に 一番 近い から です ね

な の でも の 凄く ダイレクトに 感情 を コントロール できる と 言う こと で

最終 的に ヨーイ ・ドンと グーンと レース する 時 は です ね

もう 千 分 の 一 秒 単位 で 判断 して いく わけです

この 時 に です ね 本当に 千 分 の 一 秒 単位 で 判断 する に は 大脳 皮質 と 呼ば れる

考える 脳 を シャットアウト して そこ を 飛ばして 考え ない ように する と ですね

手足 の ように 車 が 動く んです

こういった 神経 系 の コントロール も 色々 覚え ました

そして 更に こういう 戦い に なる と 必ず 終わった 後 負けた ドライバー は

「お前 女性 だ から 危ない 運転 する な よ 」って 言って きます

そういった こと を です ね 今度 は 利用 して 私 は アジア 人 の よく 分からない 女性 だ から

気 を つけよう と 言う ような 形 で 皆 が して くれます ので

そういった こと を 活用 したり

そして 時速 330 キロ オーバー で です ね グーッ と 走って いる 時 ―

ストレート の 時 は ドライバー と いう の は こう 余裕 が あって

首 を 回したり 手 を 回したり 大きく 深呼吸 したり して です ね

心拍 数 を 落とそう と して 要は 男性 ドライバー で は

そこ まで する こと も ない けれど 女性 だ から やっぱり 体力 が 無い です から

そこ で ぐーっと 心拍数 を ストレートの 内 に 縮めて おいて

カーブ で 集中 する と 言う ような 工夫 を どんどん して いく と です ね

このように です ね 感情 を 何で でも コントロール できる ように なって きました

そして 要は アスリート という のは 体 は 心 から コントロール して

そして 心 は 体 から アプローチ して 要は ご飯 や 水 なんか で アプローチ して

コントロール して い ます

そして 遂に レース デビュー した 当時 の 夢 だった イギリス F 3 最も 熱い と 呼ばれた

アイルトン ・セナ が F1 に 行く 前 に 乗っていた イギリス F3 に 到達した んです

でも たどりついた 夢 は とって も 一瞬 でした

たどりついた と 思って 今 まで 何 年間 も ずっと 男性 と 一緒に 肩 を 並べて

世界 転戦 して きた ので 体 に 無理 が あって です ね

１ 年 の 内 200 日 以上 は 38 度 以上 の 熱 が 出る ように なっちゃった んです

すべて の 体 に 斑点 が 出てきて しまったり 目 が 真っ 黄色 に なって しまって

「ああ これ は もう 運転 どころ じゃ ない スポーツ どころ じゃ ない 」

と いう 状況 に なって い ました

そして 私 は 無念に も です ね イギリス を 後 に し なくては いけなく なり ました

要は ドクター から ストップ は かけられない ドクター ストップ は かけられ ない

なぜなら 君 が どれ だけ 気概 を 入れて ここ に 来て いる か そして ―

どんな 責任 感 を 持って どんな 予算 を 背負って ここ に 来て いる か 分かって いる から

ストップ は かけ られ ない と でも このまま やったら 来年 命 は ない よ

と いう 風 に 言わ れて

帰国 して レーサー を 辞める こと に し ました

この 時 は です ね 私 の マネージャー だった マイク と 言う 男 が 空港 まで 送って くれました

送って くれる 時 に 「慶子 よく やった よ

自分 の 夢 到達 した じゃ ない か

君 は 多分 夢 に 到達 し かけた から もっと 上の 夢を 見ている と思う けれど

一 代 で そこ まで 成し遂げ られる ほど 歴史 は 早く 動か ない 」と いう 風 に 言わ れて

自分 を 納得 させて ロンドン の ヒースロー 空港 から

こう 自分 の 飛行機 が 飛び立った 瞬間 です ね

もう 止めど なく 涙 が 溢れた の を 覚えて い ます

そんな 中 家 に 帰ってきて 結婚 して そして 私 病気 です けれど

日本 の 人 達 に 助け られて きた んで 何 か 日本人 に 恩返し でき ない か と 思って

じゃあ 病気 だ けど 身近な 所 から と 言う こと で

近所 の 子ども 達 100 人 程 に 英語 を 教える こと に なった んです

その頃 は です ね 病気 を 治す の に 大変で

トイレ に も 夜中 に 20 回 ぐらい 行か ない と いけない ぐらい 病んで い ました

ところが この 世代 の 違う そして 元気な 彼ら と で すね

触れ合って いる と 無限大の 可能性 を 感じて

段々 元気に なって ４ 年 かけて 本当の 健康 を 取り戻し ました

そし たら です ね やっぱり 健康 に なって くる と 「また やりたい 」って （笑 ）

思っちゃ った んです ね

それ で やろう と 決めて

今度 は 世界 最高峰 まで やろう と 言う 風 に 決め ました

ところが ４ 年間 も ブランク が あった アスリート に です ね

世界 転戦 の 費用 を サポート する ような 企業 は 一 つ も ない わけです

な ので ずっと 企画 書 を 書いて そして 何 百 社 に も 渡し に 行って

そして 昼間 は トレーニング して

日本 が 夜 に なれば ヨーロッパ が 朝 に なり ます ので

各 チーム と Skype で 交渉 して ３ 時間 睡眠 で 毎日 毎日 やっていきました

そして 到達 した ―やっと たどり着いた 世界 最高峰

ル ・マン 24 時間 レース と 言う 世界 最高峰 の ル ・マン の 勝利 の 女神 は

私 を 受け入れて くれる か

残念 ながら 受け入れて くれ ませ ん でした

私 は 一周 も 走れ なかった んです 私 の せい で は ありませ ん けれど

第 一 ドライバー が です ね 走って いる 時 に 他の ドライバー に クラッシュ されて しまって

私 が 走る 番 が 回って 来なかった んです

「私 は 何 を やって いる んだ 」と ３ 時間 睡眠 で 企画 書 を 書いて

たくさん 回って トレーニング も して 交渉 も して

もの 凄い お 金 を 集めて ここ まで 来て 走れない 一周 も

何 を やってる んだ 驚きました

こちら に ぶつけ られた 張本人 が 苦 そうな 顔 を して （笑 ）

本当 は 勝利 の ため に 用意 した シャンパン を です ね

「まあ いい よ 、許す 」って 言う こと で

この 時 は 真っ赤 に なり ながら 呑んだ くれました が

その後 です ね 悔しくて

ル ・マン 24 時間 レース の レース が ずっと 続いている 中 で です ね

私 は そこ で コテッ と 寝て 朝 を 迎えて パッと 起きたら

まだ ずっと 車 が 走って いる 要 は まだ ゴール を 目指して

走って いる 車 が いる と 言う こと を 知って もの凄く 悔しかった し

涙 を 流し ました

それ で ２ 年 目 また 挑戦 し ました 与えられた の は ３ 周 だけ でした

ル ・ マン の 女神って 酷だ な と 思いました

いきなり 車 の 調子 が 私 が 乗る 直前 に ―第 一 ドライバー の 時 から

ガタガタ ガタガタ 言い出して

私 が 乗った 時 に は もう 300 キロ だ と 飛び 跳ねる ような 不具合 が 起きて

リタイア しました

そこ で です ね もう ２ 回 目 で こんなに ２ 年 も 続けて こう だ と

主人 が 慰め の 言葉 を 言って くれました

「ル ・マン の 主 は 男 神 な んじゃないか ？

男 神 だ から 嫉妬 して いる んじゃ ない か ？

唯一 の 女性 が 成功 する こと に 嫉妬 している んじゃないか ？」と いう 風 な

慰め の 言葉 を かけられた 時 に もう 一 年 頑張ろう と 思いました

（ 笑 ）

そして ３ 度目 の 正直 このように パレード で は

百万 人 の 人 が 集まり ます ので 女性 は 私 一人 です ので

皆さん 声援 を 送って くれます 私 は もう AKB48 の センター か なって （笑 ）

思う ほど です ね ―勘違い して しまう ほど です が

ル ・マン に 到達 した 今回 は とにかく 全て を 賭けよう と 言う こと で

情熱 が たくさんの 人 に 広まりました

初め は です ね どんな チーム に 入って も どの 国 の チーム に 入って も

アジア 人 の 女性 ？大丈夫な の ？本当に 運転 できる の ？という 目 で 見られます

でも そこ は しっかり 走って そして そう 思って いる 方 に も です ね

自分 から コミュニケーション を とって

時間 と 言葉 を ゆっくり ゆっくり 丁寧に 重ねて いく と で すね

情熱 と 言う の は やっぱり 広がって いって 何 倍 何 十 倍 の 火 に 燃え盛ります

そして その 火 は です ね このように 現れ ます

例えば 私 が 事前 に 血液 検査 を して いて 鉄分 が 少ない と なる と

私 の いとこ の 管理 栄養士 の なっちゃん は です ね

ヒジキ を 用意 して くれたり

そして 逆に フランス 人 の チーム でした ので フランス 人 の チーム は

よし 慶子 は 日本 人 で 頑張って いる

鉄 が 足りない と 言う から 降りて きて ガン と 座ったら

盆栽 を 置いて 休ま せて （笑 ）鉄瓶 で お茶 を 入れて 鉄 を 飲ま せて

最後 入り口 に は です ね ―次に 私 の 番 が あって 乗り込む 時 に は

心 に も 鉄 を 入れて やろう と 言う こと で です ね こういった 兜 を 置いて くれる と いう です ね

（ 笑 ）

このような 要 は 心遣い ホスピタリティー を 受け ました

そして 330 キロ で 走って 何 時間 も 走る こと が できた

３ 周 でも １ 周 でも ないで も 大雨 が 来た んです

この 時 に フランス の チーム と いう の は 女性 活用 の 先進国 です から

私 を すごく 巧く 上手に 起用 して くれました

私 は 大雨 、日の入り 、日の出 担当 だった んです

要は 「もの凄く 危ない 所 は 全部 慶子 が 行け 」と 言う こと なんです

（ 笑 ）

日本 で は 危ない 、女性 は 止めて おこう と 言う こと に なり ます が

向こう は 逆 でした 女性 ならでは の やはり 五感 を 使って

いつも 冷静に 走れる 感情 も コントロール できる

そして いつも 必ず 同じ ラップ タイム で 来 れる

ちょっと した 敏感な 気温 と か 湿度 の 変化 も 感じて 開発 できる と 言う こと で

こういった 所 を 任せて くれ ました

そして 遂に ３ 度目 の 正直で アジア人 初 、女性 初 で 完走 し

その後 の ル・マンシリーズ で は

世界 の 女性 で 初めて 総合 優勝 する こと が できました

そして もう 一 つ 大きな レース が 私 に は ありました

16 年間 を 賭けて きた レース です

富士 スピードウェイ で 行わ れた 日本 グランプリ の 凱旋 レース

この 時 に 私 は 並々 ならぬ 覚悟 で 行った に も 関わらず

若くて 綺麗で でも 新米 の 女性 を 投入 して きた んです 私 に

私 は 女性 の 活動 を 推進 して おき ながら 「えー っ 」と思って しまい ました

（ 笑 ）

なぜ か と 言えば 私 が この 16 年間 で 一番 大事だ と 思っている レース に

どうして こんな 新人 で 女性 の 力 が 弱い 人 を 付けて きた んだ と

それ で 案の定 私 の シートベルト を 締めたら ユルユル な んです

もう どう 考えて も 死んで しまい ます

そこ で です ね フランス の チーム は 凄い な と 思った のが

リーダー が こう テクテク と 来て

「よし キャサリン あんまり ちょっと 力 入ら ない な

これ じゃあ 時間 が かかっちゃう から ピットストップ に 時間 かかっちゃう から

こっち から マイケル も 一緒に 手伝って くれ 」よし ヨーイドン と 二人 で 引っ張ったら

カチッ と いつも と 同じ タイム で [締まった ]んです ね

「よし キャサリン は 他の 所 でも の 凄い 役 に 立っている し

キャサリン が いる こと で 色んな 違う 考え方 や 工夫 が 出てきて

効率 的に 開発 できる ように なった キャサリン を 大事に して いこう や 」
