342 - Un rey, un campesino y un burro

NARRADORA Había una vez un rey que quería ir de pesca.

REY Ey, tú, pronosticador del tiempo...

PRONOSTICADOR A la orden, su Majestad.

REY Dime, y no te equivoques, ¿qué clima tendremos hoy? ¿Lloverá, no lloverá, hará frío, hará viento?

PRONOSTICADOR Despreocúpese, su Majestad. Hoy no caerá ni una gota de agua. Se lo aseguro. Puede ir tranquilo.

NARRADORA Como la novia del monarca vivía cerca de donde éste iría a pescar, el Rey se vistió con sus mejores galas.

NARRADORA Ya en camino, se encontró con un campesino montado en su burro quien al ver al rey le dijo:

CAMPESINO Señor es mejor que vuelva pues va a llover muchísimo.

REY Qué sabrás tú de eso ni de nada...

CAMPESINO Hágame caso y regrese...

NARRADORA Desde luego, el Rey siguió su camino pensando:

REY Tengo un especialista muy bien pagado que me ha dicho todo lo contrario. Así que, mejor sigo adelante.

NARRADORA Y así lo hizo… y, por supuesto...

NARRADORA ... llovió torrencialmente.

NARRADORA El rey se empapó y la novia se rió de él al verlo en ese estado. Furioso, volvió a palacio y despidió al pronosticador del tiempo.

PRONOSTICADOR Pero, su Majestad, lo que pasa es que...

REY Fuera de aquí, charlatán, fuera.

NARRADORA El Rey mandó llamar al campesino y le ofreció el puesto con muy buena paga, pero éste le dijo:

CAMPESINO Señor, yo no entiendo nada de eso.

CAMPESINO Señor, si las orejas de mi burro están caídas quiere decir que lloverá. No falla.

NARRADORA Entonces... el Rey contrató al burro.

NARRADORA Así comenzó la costumbre de contratar burros, que desde entonces tienen los puestos más remunerados en el gobierno.
