#20 - La volta che persi il passaporto in Russia

Ciao a tutti e benvenuti su Podcast Italiano, in un nuovo video che registro per voi.

In questo video volevo raccontarvi una storia che forse ho già raccontato nel podcast, ma volevo anche ri-raccontarla in formato video. E perché una storia? Beh, perché ho visto questo format in un canale di una ragazza che insegna tedesco, questo formato… format, formato, storytime, quindi ho pensato: “Ma perché non fare una cosa simile anche su Podcast Italiano? Alla fine a tutti piacciono le storie, a tutti piace sentire storie.

Ok. Iniziamo la storia. Si dà il caso che mi trovavo in Russia (I happened to be in Russia). Come forse voi sapete io imparo il russo. Era due estati fa, credo estate 2017, e dopo un po' di giorni in Russia, a San Pietroburgo e poi a Mosca, ero pronto per tornare in italia e prendere l'aereo di ritorno (the flight back). Ero da solo perché i miei genitori erano stati con me solo a San Pietroburgo. Io avevo proseguito (=continuato) il viaggio da solo e… e niente, il viaggio era arrivato alla sua conclusione. Dovevo tornare. Allora faccio per andare all'aeroporto e chiamo un Uber per… per andare all'aeroporto, no? E, salgo, arriva l'Uber, salgo sulla macchina (I get on the car) e l'autista mi fa (=dice): “Ma vuoi lasciare lo zaino (backpack) nel sedile posteriore (back seat) dell'auto? “Perché io avevo questo zaino. Allora sì, lo metto, lo prendo, lo metto nel sedile posteriore, dico: “Massì, ma tanto mi ricorderò, mi ricorderò!”

Cosa succede? Beh, forse alcuni di voi conoscono (meglio: sanno) già che io ho avuto un po' di sfortuna (bad luck) con gli zaini, perché non l'ho dimenticato solo una volta. Beh, come avrete capito l'ho dimenticato. Io sono una persona abbastanza smemorata (forgetful), abbastanza così, che non mi ricordo le cose che devo fare. In questo caso non mi sono ricordato che dovevo riprendere lo zaino, quindi arrivato a destinazione con molta tranquillità io esco dall'uber, me ne vado all'aeroporto senza pensare che forse mi serviva quello zaino, perché in quello zaino c'era il passaporto, e per volare dalla Russia all'Unione Europea mi serve il passaporto, se no… non so cosa mi può succedere ma probabilmente nulla di bello.

E quindi niente, dopo qualche minuto mi rendo conto che io non c'ho nulla, non c'ho nulla, cioè ho il telefono, sì, avevo il telefono, ma non avevo nemmeno la la power bank, quindi il mio telefono non aveva molta batteria (power [of a device]), si sarebbe scaricato (it would have died). Allora io ero nel panico totale (in utter panic) addirittura mi sono messo a piangere (I started to cry), cioè io piango abbastanza raramente, non è qualcosa che faccio spesso, ma quella volta mi sono messo a piangere perché ero in panico totale, cioè non sapevo cosa fare, non potevo nemmeno fare chiamare perché avevo sì internet (I did have the internet, BUT…), ma non potevo chiamare perché avevo questa strana situazione: praticamente io per stare in Russia qualche giorno avevo speso un sacco di soldi per comprarmi un router, un mini-router per avere internet. Vi chiederete: “Ma perché ti sei comprato un mini-router per stare in Russia, non puoi comprarti una sim?” Costano anche poco le sim in Russia. Sì, peccato che (the problem is/was) il mio telefono, il mio telefono che ho comprato con un piano telefonico – una cosa che non… penso non rifarò mai più – cioè, l'ho comprato con una agenzia, con un operatore telefonico in Italia per pagarlo un po' meno, pagarlo a rate (in installments). Però questo ha fatto sì che (this meant that) io praticamente non possa (meglio: potessi) cambiare la sim. O meglio, forse c'è un modo ma non sapevo come fare all'epoca, e quindi avevo deciso di spendere tutti questi soldi e avere un router esterno per avere internet, ma il mio telefono aveva la sim mia, italiana. Quindi non potevo fare comunque chiamate, chiamate di emergenza, no? O meglio… magari potevo, però avrei speso tantissimi soldi, non so nemmeno come funzionano queste cose.

Ho dimenticato di dire anche una cosa importante, ovvero che io avevo provato a contattare Uber, cioè, avevo provato… – tramite l'applicazione si può praticamente provare a mettersi in contatto con l'autista (meglio: ci si può provare a mettere in contatto = you can try to get in touch with the driver) , perché non ti danno il numero di telefono dell'autista per questioni di privacy – però senza successo. Praticamente Uber prova a fare una chiamata e metterti in contatto con l'autista, ma l'autista non rispondeva e quindi non c'era nulla da fare (there was nothing I could do) per mettersi in contatto con lui.

Quindi non sapevo cosa fare, cioè mi guardo intorno (I look around), il taxi, l'Uber non c'è, se n'è andato via, che c… faccio? E allora niente, provo a scrivere ai miei genitori e mio fratello, chiedo consiglio (I ask for advice), non so assolutamente cosa fare, sono in panico totale, dico: “Beh, che ne so proviamo entrare aeroporto,magari… non lo so magari lì trovo qualcuno con cui parlare, trovo… che ne so, mi inventerò qualcosa (I'll think of something), dovrò pur fare qualcosa”. Considerando che comunque, cioè, io ok parlo russo (come prima, “io parlo sì il russo, MA” oppure “il russo parlare lo parlo, MA”), però avere queste conversazioni in una lingua straniera non è mai molto bello, e poi il mio russo non è forte quanto il mio inglese, quindi sicuramente non era molto piacevole come situazione. Tra l'altro… magari in passato (intendevo: in futuro) poi parlo anche di quando ho perso la valigia e ho dovuto parlare in russo all'aeroporto. Io ho sempre queste bellissime avventure in Russia.

Comunque… quindi entro in aeroporto e mi si illumina il volto di felicità (my face lights up in happiness), sorrido di felicità e di gioia, un sorriso a 32 denti (in italiano “fare un sorriso a 32 denti” significa fare un sorriso grande), o forse anche a 64, mi spuntano altri denti (new teeth come out) per sorridere di più. Perché vedo che c'era l'autista all'interno dell'aeroporto che mi aspettava con lo zaino. E quindi io gli dico: “Grazie, grazie! Ti pago, ti do dei soldi, ti do una ricompensa per questo favore che mi hai fatto”, lui però (è stato) molto gentile, mi fa: “No no, non ti preoccupare, non ti preoccupare” E se n'è andato.

Così io ho tirato un sospiro di sollievo (I gave a sigh of relief) come diciamo in italiano, perché sono andato molto vicino a… non so bene cosa sarebbe successo, però non era sicuramente una situazione molto bella, quindi ho recuperato il mio zaino (I got my backpack back), ho recuperato il mio passaporto, la power bank e niente, tutto quello che mi serviva per poter tornare in italia.

E sì, non è stata una storia molto bella, ma come spesso capita le storie che sono poco belle da vivere sono le storie più belle da raccontare. Quindi se avete già sentito questa storia beh, l'avete risentita.
