2: 생쥐와 사자

배고픈 생쥐가 숲속에서 먹을 것을 찾고 있었어요.

그런데 생쥐가 마주친 것은 먹을 것이 아니라 사자였어요! 마침 사자도 조금 배가 고팠어요.

사자가 무섭게 으르렁거렸어요. 생쥐는 벌벌 떨며 말했어요.

“사자야, 제발 나를 잡아먹지 마. 나를 보내 줘. 언젠가 내가 너를 도와 줄게.”

사자가 말했어요. “너처럼 작은 생쥐가 나를 돕는다고? 바보 같은 소리야. 그렇지만 배가 많이 고프지는 않으니 너를 놓아주겠어.”

며칠 후에 사자는 다리에 철사가 감겨 꼼짝도 못 하게 되었어요.

“도와줘요!” 하고 사자는 엉엉 울며 말했어요. “움직일 수가 없어요!”

그때 생쥐가 달려와서 말했어요. “사자야, 내가 이빨로 철사를 끊어 줄게.”

사자가 말했어요. “정말 고마워, 생쥐야. 그리고 너를 무시해서 미안해.”
