Nick: Today Wendy and I are talking about Hadrian’s Wall, which is a wall in the north of England. Nick: Heute sprechen Wendy und ich über Hadrians Mauer, eine Mauer im Norden Englands. Nick: And so, I actually had been by myself, uhh, I think, two years before, because I had a work contract that I was doing in Glasgow, in Scotland, which is just north of where the Wall is. Nick: …that we talked about a few episodes ago.

Nick: Umm, and so you have to be prepared for that, I guess, on a visual level, that it’s not something that you’re going to look at and just be astounded by how enormous it is. Nick: …and how impressive that was, and Hadrian who was the emperor who commissioned the Wall was himself very interested in architecture, and in, uhh, military defensive systems and things like that. Wendy: Yeah.

Nick: And so we spent a couple of days walking along the Wall.

Wendy: Umm-hmm.
