Matt. 19
Mat. 19
Mat. 19
and|it happened|he is|when|he had completed|Jesus|speeches|these|he moved|from|Galilee|and|he came|into|borders|Judea|across|Jordan|and|having followed|they are|him|crowds|many|and|he healed|them|there
1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee and came into the borders of Judea beyond Jordan, 2 and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them there.
and|they approached|to|him|Pharisees|testing|him|and|saying|if|it is lawful|for a man|to divorce|wife|his|for whatever|from|reason
3 And the Pharisees came to him, testing him, and saying: Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for any cause?
who|answering|he said|to them|not|you have read|that|who|he made|man|from|beginning|male|and|female|he made|them
4 He answered and said to them: Have you not read, that he who made man at the beginning made them male and female?
and|he said|because of|this|he will leave|man|father|and|mother|and|he will cling|to wife|his|and|they will be|two|in|flesh|one
And he said: 5 For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and they shall be one flesh.
therefore|now|not|they are|two|but|one|flesh
6 Therefore they are no longer two, but one flesh.
Quod ergo Deus conjunxit, homo non separet.
what|therefore|God|he has joined|man|not|he should separate
What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.
7 Dicunt illi : Quid ergo Moyses mandavit dare libellum repudii, et dimittere ?
they say|to them|what|therefore|Moses|he commanded|to give|a document|of divorce|and|to send away
7 They said to him: What then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?
||because|Moses|to|hardness|of heart|your|he permitted|to you|to dismiss|wives|your|from|beginning|however|not|it was|so
8 He said to them: Because Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of the hardness of your hearts: but from the beginning it was not so.
|however|to you|that|whoever|he dismisses|wife|his|unless|for|fornication|and|another|he marries|commits adultery|and|whoever|dismissed|he marries|commits adultery
9 But I say to you, that whoever divorces his wife, except for fornication, and marries another, commits adultery: and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.
||disciples|his|if|so|it is|cause|of man|with|wife|not|it is expedient|to marry
10 His disciples said to him: If such is the case of a man with his wife, it is not expedient to marry.
||to them|not|all|they understand|word|this|but|to whom|given|it is
11 He said to them: Not all can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given.
they are|for|eunuchs|who|from|mother's|womb|thus|born|they are|and|they are|eunuchs|who|made|they are|by|men|and|they are|eunuchs|who|themselves|they castrated|for|kingdom|of heaven
For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother's womb; and there are eunuchs who were made by men; and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven.
Qui potest capere capiat.
whoever|can|to seize|let him seize
Let the one who is able to accept this accept it.
then|having been presented|they are|to him|little children|that|hands|to them|he might lay|and|he might pray
Then little children were brought to him so that he might lay his hands on them and pray.
Discipuli autem increpabant eos.
the disciples|however|they were rebuking|them
But the disciples rebuked them.
Jesus|indeed|he said|to them|let them|little children|and|do not|them|to hinder|to|me|to come|of such|is|for|kingdom|of heaven
14 But Jesus said to them: Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.
15 Et cum imposuisset eis manus, abiit inde.
and|when|he had laid|on them|hands|he went away|from there
15 And when he had laid his hands on them, he went away from there.
16 Et ecce unus accedens, ait illi : Magister bone, quid boni faciam ut habeam vitam æternam ?
and|behold|one|approaching|he said|to him|teacher|good|what|good|I should do|in order to|I may have|life|eternal
16 And behold, one came up to him and said, Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?
17 Qui dixit ei : Quid me interrogas de bono ?
he|he said|to him|what|me|you ask|about|good
17 And he said to him: Why do you ask me about what is good?
Unus est bonus, Deus.
one|is|good|God
One is good, God.
if|however|you want|to|life|to enter|keep|commandments
But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.
18 Dicit illi : Quæ ?
he says|to him|which
He said to him: Which ones?
Jesus|however|he said|not|murder|you will do|not|you will commit adultery|not|you will do|theft|not|false|testimony|you will say|honor|father|your|and|mother|your|and|you will love|neighbor|your|as|yourself
Jesus said: You shall not murder; you shall not commit adultery; you shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness; honor your father and your mother, and you shall love your neighbor as yourself.
20 Dicit illi adolescens : Omnia hæc custodivi a juventute mea : quid adhuc mihi deest ?
he says|to him|the young man|all|these|I have kept|from|youth|my|what|still|to me|is lacking
20 The young man said to him: I have kept all these things from my youth: what do I still lack?
he says|to him|Jesus|if|you want|perfect|to be|go|sell|what|you have|and|give|to the poor|and|you will have|treasure|in|heaven|and|come|follow|me
21 Jesus said to him: If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
when|he had heard|however|the young man|word|he went away|sad|he was|for|having|many|possessions
22 But when the young man heard this word, he went away sad: for he had many possessions.
23 Jesus autem dixit discipulis suis : Amen dico vobis, quia dives difficile intrabit in regnum cælorum.
Jesus|however|he said|to the disciples|his|Amen|I say|to you|because|rich|difficult|he will enter|in|kingdom|of heaven
23 But Jesus said to his disciples: Truly I say to you, that a rich man will hardly enter the kingdom of heaven.
|again|I say|to you|easier|it is|a camel|through|the eye|of a needle|to pass|than|a rich man|to enter|into|the kingdom|of heaven
24 And again I say to you: It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
25 Auditis autem his, discipuli mirabantur valde, dicentes : Quis ergo poterit salvus esse ?
having heard|however|these|the disciples|they were amazed|very|saying|who|therefore|he will be able|saved|to be
25 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished, saying: Who then can be saved?
looking|however|Jesus|he said|to them|among|men|this|impossible|it is|with|God|however|all|possible|they are
26 But Jesus looked at them and said: With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
27 Tunc respondens Petrus, dixit ei : Ecce nos reliquimus omnia, et secuti sumus te : quid ergo erit nobis ?
|answering|Peter|he said|to him|behold|we|we have left|all|and|having followed|we are|you|what|therefore|it will be|to us
27 Then Peter answered and said to Him: See, we have left all and followed You. Therefore what will there be for us?
Jesus|but|he said|to them|Amen|I say|to you|that|you|who|having followed|you are|me|in|regeneration|when|he will have sat|Son|of man|in|seat|of majesty|his|you will sit|and|you|on|seats|twelve|judging|twelve|tribes|of Israel
28 But Jesus said to them: Truly I say to you, that you who have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
and|all|who|he will have left|house|or|brothers|or|sisters|or|father|or|mother|or|wife|or|children|or|fields|for|name|my|a hundredfold|he will receive|and|life|eternal|he will possess
29 And everyone who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or fields for my name's sake, will receive a hundredfold, and will inherit eternal life.
many|but|they will be|first|last|and|last|first
30 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.
