Part 7

She thinks about this for a while.

Then she asks, “Is there another reason why you went to Egypt last year?”

“Not really,” I say.

She is not buying my answer.

“I think there is another reason,” she says, taking another deep sip from her beer glass. Her beer glass is almost empty. She seems full of energy. I now find her annoying.

She acts as if she knows something that she doesn't want to tell me. We sit quietly for a long while. Neither of us says anything.

The waiter comes with another glass of beer. He tells us that the food is on the way.

“Thank you”, she says to the waiter. “Tell me more about Egypt and your trip there”, she says to me.
