Part 4

I'm not in a very good mood.

I look away from her and say, “ I really do not feel like talking.”

She pretends not to hear me. “Let's just sit and talk for a while”, she says.

We sit like that for what seems like a long time. I look out the window. There are many people walking by outside. I feel that I am not being nice so I start to make conversation.

“How's your sister?” I ask.

She immediately smiles that bright warm smile of hers and says. “She is fine, George. Thank you for asking. Why don't you call her?”

I wait a while and then say. “Because I have been busy. In fact, I have not seen her for a long time.”

She laughs and says, “Haha, that's not what she told me.”

“What did she tell you?” I ask.
