“I know nothing about that,” I protest.
“Maybe you do, and maybe you don't,” she says, “and we will soon find out if you do.”
“I don't believe your story, and in any case this has nothing to do with me,” I say.
“The ancient treasure has a curse on it.
I just want to warn you in case you did take some of it,” she says, and then sits back looking quite pleased with herself.
“I don't believe in magic. In any case, I don't know anything about that treasure,” I say, trying to appear confidently.
