LingQ Introduces Georgian to Its Expansive Language Learning Platform
[Vancouver, Canada] — LingQ, a leading digital language learning app, is excited to announce the addition of Georgian to its growing list of languages. This marks the first time the Georgian language, spoken by over 3.7 million people worldwide, has been made available on a major language learning platform.
“It’s always exciting to add new languages and the addition of Georgian, thanks largely to our community, is no different," said Mark Kaufmann, co-founder of LingQ. "Our aim has always been to make language learning accessible and enjoyable, and by introducing Georgian, we're continuing to make LingQ the go to platform for language learners."
Like all languages offered on LingQ, Georgian will feature a combination of interactive lessons, personalized vocabulary tools, and a supportive and engaged community of native speakers, providing a well-rounded language learning experience. Learners will have the opportunity to gain proficiency through reading, listening, speaking, and writing.
Georgian is known for its unique and ancient writing system and complex grammatical structure. The Georgian library of courses on LingQ will enable learners to learn Georgian from content of interest using LingQ’s content based learning tools.
The introduction of Georgian raises the number of languages available on LingQ to 45.
"I probably never thought we would offer Georgian but that just speaks to the global community we have created at LingQ," added Kaufmann. "With the infrastructure in place, our dedicated community of language enthusiasts see the potential to add more and more languages. Hopefully, this generates interest in learning Georgian and learning more about the country itself."
Since 2002, LingQ has helped millions learn languages using their content-based language learning app which harnesses machine learning to enhance and customize the users’ language journey. LingQ offers 47 languages to users around the globe on their web and mobile platforms.
The father and son founding team of Steve and Mark Kaufmann originally developed thelinguist.com in 2002 and rebranded it as LingQ in 2007. LingQ is one of the pioneers in language app development focused on web and mobile delivery only. LingQ has developed one of the largest foreign language libraries of authentic and interesting content. In addition to their main content-based learning activities, LingQ users also have access to online tutors, interactions on a global language community forum, community writing exchange, and integrated SRS vocabulary review tools. To ensure success, LingQ measures everything that students do including the number of words the student knows, how many words are learned, and statistics on writing, speaking, listening, and reading.
