Psalmus 140

1 Psalmus David.

Audient verba mea, quoniam potuerunt. 9 Custodi me a laqueo quem statuerunt mihi, et a scandalis operantium iniquitatem. 10 Cadent in retiaculo ejus peccatores : singulariter sum ego, donec transeam.

Psalmus 140

1 Psalmus David.

Lord, I cry to you answer me; consider my voice when I call to you. 2 Dirigatur oratio mea sicut incensum in conspectu tuo ; elevatio manuum mearum sacrificium vespertinum. 2 Let my prayer as incense before you; up of my evening. 3 Pone, Domine, custodiam ori meo, et ostium circumstantiæ labiis meis. 3 O Lord, keep my mouth shut, the door of my lips. 4 Incline my heart to evil words for engaging in; With men that work iniquity, and I will not communicate with the choicest of them. 5 Corripiet me justus in misericordia, et increpabit me : oleum autem peccatoris non impinguet caput meum. 5 correct me in kindness, and cords for the oil of the sinner fatten my head. Quoniam adhuc et oratio mea in beneplacitis eorum : 6 absorpti sunt juncti petræ judices eorum. My prayer is still pleased: 6 have been swallowed my God. Audient verba mea, quoniam potuerunt. Hear the words, because he failed. 7 The earth has erupted over the earth, our bones are scattered at the grave. 8 Quia ad te, Domine, Domine, oculi mei ; in te speravi, non auferas animam meam. 8 Because you, Lord, Lord, my eye; in thee I put my trust, take not away my soul. 9 Custodi me a laqueo quem statuerunt mihi, et a scandalis operantium iniquitatem. 9 Keep me from the snare which they have, and from the snares of evildoers. 10 Cadent in retiaculo ejus peccatores : singulariter sum ego, donec transeam. 10 fall in his net: I am alone until I pass.
