יש ביטויים שמיתרגמים יפה בין שפות there are expressions that translate nicely between languages

ובאמת משתמשים בביטויים האלה בשתי השפות and people really use those phrases in both languages

למשל "לגנוב את ההצגה" for example "to steal the show"

שזה גם באנגלית - to steal the show which is also in English

אבל לא הכול מיתרגם יפה but not everything translates nicely

למשל, באנגלית יש he's in the doghouse for example, in English there "he's in the doghouse"

כי הוא עשה משהו רע ואשתו זרקה אותו because he did something bad and his wife threw him out

לישון כביכול בחוץ to sleep, so to speak, outside

בעברית לא אומרים שהוא נמצא במלונה in Hebrew we do not say he is in doghouse (also "kennel")

אומרים - אפשר להגיד משהו כמו "הוא ישן על הספה הערב" we say - you can say something like "he's sleeping on the couch tonight"

משהו כזה something like that

אבל המלונה היא רק בשביל כלבים but the doghouse is only for dogs
