THE BEE AND JUPITER ハチとジュピター

A Queen Bee from Hymettus flew up to Olympus with some fresh honey from the hive as a present to Jupiter, who was so pleased with the gift that he promised to give her anything she liked to ask for. ハイメットスからの女王蜂は、木星へのプレゼントとしてハイブからの新鮮な蜂蜜をいくつかオリンパスに飛んだ。 She said she would be very grateful if he would give stings to the bees, to kill people who robbed them of their honey. 彼女が彼に彼らの蜂蜜を奪った人々を殺すために彼がミツバチを刺すなら彼女は非常に感謝すると彼女は言った。 Jupiter was greatly displeased with this request, for he loved mankind: but he had given his word, so he said that stings they should have. 木星は人類を愛していたので、この要求に大いに不満を抱きました。 The stings he gave them, however, were of such a kind that whenever a bee stings a man the sting is left in the wound and the bee dies. しかし、彼が彼らに与えた刺し傷は、蜂が人を刺すたびに刺された傷が傷に残り、蜂が死ぬような種類のものでした。
