所以 首先 孝是 什么 意思 ？ So what does filial piety mean first?

" 孝 " 简单 来说 就是 尊重 父母 的 意思 "Filial piety" simply means respecting parents

我们 可以 看到 孝 这个 字 We can see the word filial piety

孝 这个 汉字 它 底下 有个 “ 子 ” The Chinese character filial piety has a "子" under it

它 跟 儿子 有 关系 It has something to do with the son

我们 做 儿子 的 关心 爱护 和 尊敬 我们 的 爸爸妈妈 We take care of our sons, love and respect our parents

这 就 叫做 孝 This is called filial piety

所以 孝是 一个 中国 特有 的 这么 一个 concept So filial piety is a concept unique to China

这么 一个 概念 Such a concept

具体来说 它 是 一个 中国 的 儒家 的 观念 Specifically, it is a Chinese Confucian concept

所谓 的 儒家 意思 就是 孔子 confucius The so-called Confucianism means Confucius confucius

孔子 的 教导 Confucius' teaching

孔子 和 他 的 这些 followers 他 的 这些 学生 Confucius and his followers and his students

他们 的 这种 思维 方式 他们 的 school of thought Their school of thought

这 两个 词有 什么 区别 呢 ？ What is the difference between these two words?

其实 你 看 这个 字 孝顺 它 有 “ 顺 ” 这个 字 对 吧 ？ Actually you see the word filial piety, it has the word "shun", right?
