相信 大家 都 聽 過 一 個 《 聖經 》 故事 ， 就 係 神 睇見 世人 罪惡 滔天 ， 所以 用 洪水 懲罰 世人 。 I believe we have all heard of a Biblical story in which God saw that the world was full of wickedness and so He punished the world with a flood. 唔 知 大家 又 知 唔 知 ， 中國 古代 都 有 大 洪水 嘅 傳說 呢 ？ Do you know that in ancient China, there were legends of great floods?

喺 好 耐 好耐 以前 ， 有 一 場 大 洪水 ， 周圍 都 水浸 。 Long, long ago, there was a big flood and the whole area was flooded. 抬頭 望 去 ， 四周圍 都 睇 唔 到 陸地 ， 搞到 有人 要 住 喺 樹 上面 ， 有人 要 住 喺 山窿 入面 。 When I look up, I cannot see any land in the surroundings, which means that some people have to live on top of the trees and some have to live in the hillside. 仲要 水 入面 都 係 咬 人 嘅 蛇 同 龍 ， 大家 都 唔 知 點算 。 There are also biting snakes and dragons in the water, so we don't know what to do.

呢個 時候 ， 皇帝 派 咗 個 人 去 治理 洪水 。 At that time, the emperor sent a man to cure the flood. 呢 個 人 見到 周圍 都 俾 水 浸 到 睇 唔 見 陸地 ， 就 起 咗 好多 圍牆 ， 諗 住 阻 住 啲 洪水 。 When he saw that his surroundings were so flooded that he could not see the land, he put up a lot of walls to think of stopping the flood. 不過 啲 洪水 太 勁 ， 沖 冧 晒 啲 圍牆 。 However, the floods were too strong and the walls were bombarded. 皇帝 好 嬲 ， 嬲 到 將 佢 流放 咗 去 一 個 叫 羽山 嘅 地方 。 The Emperor was so angry that he exiled her to a place called Fei Shan.

呢個 人 大難不死 ， 仲 變 咗 做 一 隻 黃熊 。 He survived and became a yellow bear. 後來 佢 肚 入面 有 咗 BB ， 呢個 BB 就 係 大禹 。 Later on, she had a baby in her belly, and that baby was Tai Yu. 大禹 長大 之後 ， 皇帝 就 命令 佢 繼承 佢 爸爸 未 完成 嘅 任務 。 When Dayu grew up, the emperor ordered him to take up his father's unfinished business. 於是 佢 下定決心 ， 一定 要 平息 呢 場 超級 大 洪水 ！ Therefore, he was determined to quell this super flood!

大禹 首先 去 調查 洪水 係 咩 一回事 。 The first thing Yu did was to find out what the relationship between the floods was. 佢 爬上 一 座 又 一 座 高山 ， 視察 洪水 有 幾 勁 ， 同埋 佢 係 點樣 流動 。 He climbed one high mountain after another to see how strong the flood was and how mobile he was. 爬 咗 無數 咁 多 座 高山 後 ， 大禹 終於 知道 要 點樣 平息 呢 場 洪水 —— 佢 爸爸 係 靠 起 圍牆 去 防止 洪水 漫延 ， 但 失敗 咗 ， 所以 大禹 決定 用 疏導 嘅 方法 去 平息 洪水 。

中國 一共 有 九 條 最 主要 嘅 河流 ， 大禹 決定 先 從 呢 九 條 河流 入手 。 There are nine major rivers in China, and Dayu decided to start with them first. 佢 掘 走 九 條 河流 旁邊 啲 泥沙 ， 河水 開始 流入 支流 。 They dug out the sediment along the nine rivers and the water began to flow into the tributaries. 大禹 繼續 掘 ， 一直 掘 到 東面 嘅 大海 。 Dayu continued to dig until he reached the sea in the east. 最後 九 條 河流 嘅 水 都 流 咗 入 東面 嘅 大海 。 Finally, the water from the nine rivers flows into the sea to the east. 大功告成 之後 ， 終於 見 返 陸地 喇 ！ After the completion of the work, we finally saw the La Salle on land! 大禹 仲 趕走 埋 啲 咬 人 嘅 蛇 同 龍 。 大家 終於 有 地 起 屋 耕田 ， 有得 食 有得 住 喇 ！ At last, we have land to build houses and cultivate fields, and we have food to eat and shelter to live in!

大禹 用 咗 十 年 去 平息 呢 場 大 洪水 。 It took Dayu 10 years to quell the great flood. 呢 十 年 間 ， 佢 三 過 家門 ， 遇到 老婆 生 BB ， 佢 顧 唔 到 ； 佢 個 仔 叫 佢 ， 佢 都 唔 得閒 入屋 。 In the past 10 years, he has visited his home three times, and when his wife gave birth to a baby, he could not take care of her; when his son called out to him, he did not have time to go into the house. 皇帝 為咗 感謝 大禹 嘅 努力 付出 ， 最後 仲 讓 咗 個 帝位 畀 佢 。
