湯姆 頂 住 一 籃 熟透 嘅 香蕉。 Tom held onto a basket of overripe bananas.

湯姆 去 街市 度賣 香蕉。 Tom went to the market to sell bananas.

好多 人去 街市 度 買 生果。 Many people go to the market to buy fruit.

但 係 冇 人 去 湯姆 個 檔口 嗰便 ，因為 佢哋 更加 鍾意 幫襯 女仔 買 生果。 But no one will go to Tom's stall, because they prefer to help girls buy fruits.

大家 就 話 ：「喺 我 哋 呢 度 ，得 女仔 先 會 賣生果 嘅 」。 People said, "In our place, girls have to sell fruit." 佢哋 仲 問 ：「邊度 有 男仔 會 去 賣 生果 㗎？ They asked again: "Are there any boys who sell fruit? 」 "

越嚟越 多 人 嚟 到 湯姆 嘅 檔位 前 。 More and more people came to Tom's stall. 佢哋 買 咗 湯姆 嘅 香蕉 ，仲 食 到 津津有味 添。 They bought Tom's bananas and ate them with great relish.

冇 幾耐 ，湯姆 個 籃 就 空 晒 ，佢 就 計 吓 自己 賣 香蕉 賺 到 嘅 錢。 After a while, Tom's basket was empty, and he planned to scare himself of the money he made selling bananas.

湯姆 用 呢 啲 錢 買 咗 番梘 、砂糖 同埋 麵包 。 Tom bought soap, sugar, and bread with the money. 佢 擺 呢 啲 嘢 入 佢 個 籃 度。 He puts these things in his basket.

湯姆 好 定當 噉 就 用 個 頭 頂 住 個 籃 返 屋企。 Tom was so sure that he put a basket on his head and went home.
