'Deadpool' Is Highest Grossing R-Rated Movie of All Time

"Deadpool" is still alive and kicking at the box office, as it becomes the highest grossing R-rated film of all time. The anti-superhero flick soared past $745 million in worldwide earnings over the March 27 weekend. That moved it past 2003's "The Matrix Reloaded," which took in a total of $742 million. While "Deadpool" reigns supreme globally, it currently sits in third place on the list of highest-grossing R-rated films in terms of U.S. ticket sales. 2004's "The Passion of the Christ" made $370.8 million domestically, while 2014's "American Sniper" took in $350.1 million. "Deadpool" should shoot past "Sniper" fairly quickly though, since it's right behind with $349.9 million.
