Road Trip to Greece

We were in Albania and only 4 hours from the border of Greece. Of course we wanted to explore the beautiful Greek Islands, but we had our one year old with us, so it didn't seem so practical at the time. We decided to visit a town just across the border called Kastoria. Before we left, there had been a stomach bug going through our house, but we thought we would be fine so we set out on our journey. Kairo, our baby was pretty good for the first hour or so; snacking and resting. After awhile, he started to get fussy, so I went in the back of the car to hold him—breaking all the rules of car safety. All of a sudden he just threw up, all over me, all over the car. “No way! This cannot be!” I thought. He threw up 2 more times on the journey, once in the car and once outside. We finally made it to the border of Greece where we had to quickly pay a fee for the document that would let us in to the country. Right at the border, our air conditioning decided to stop working and it was HOT. Now we had a sick baby, throw up on the floor and no air conditioning! We weren't going to let anything stop us from getting to Greece though. Calvin put the car in park, since we were in a line and ran to the little office at the border crossing to give our information. He came back into the car and moved it forward and then I jumped out and ran to the little office to pick up the document. All the while, Kai being a bit fussy and the heat was definitely getting to us. It felt like a whirlwind but we finally made it across the border. Let's just say, it was a trip to remember. We had a wonderful time in Greece and thankfully, the return trip went much more smoothly, with no problems at all. I would still say even with all the problems, it was worth it!

All of a sudden he just threw up, all over me, all over the car. All'improvviso ha appena vomitato, su di me, su tutta la macchina. “No way! This cannot be!” I thought.
