Queering Identities: LGBTQ+ Sexuality and Gender Identity, 1.01 (V) Jacob McWilliams, PhD

1.01 (V) Jacob McWilliams, PhD

My name is Jacob McWilliams. I'm the Director of the Gender and Sexuality Center at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, and I'm also the Director of the Women and Gender Center at the University of Colorado, Denver. I use he, him, and his pronouns. I've been working in higher education since 2002, and I earned a PhD in Education with a concentration in Gender, Sexuality, and Policy Studies from Indiana University. I identify as a queer transgender man. I'm also white, non-disabled, formally educated, and a US citizen. All of these identities intersect in a wide variety of ways in my professional and personal life. I experience privilege because of some of these identities, and I've experienced oppression, harassment, discrimination, and marginalization because of other of these identities.
