كَانَ يا ما كَانَ في قَديمِ الزَّمانِ …

عاشَ هُناكَ نَجارٌ يُدعی غيبيتو،

كانتْ مَنحوتاتُهُ الخشبيةُ مُقدَّرةً جداً مِنَ الجَّميعِ.

أحَبَّ هذا النَّجارُ المَاهرُ صُنْعَ الدُّمَى مِنَ الخَشبِ.

كانَ مَتجرُهُ مَليئَاً بهذهِ الدُّمَی.

في بعضِ الأحيانِ كانَ يَبيعُ هذهِ الدُّمَی وأحياناً يُقدمُهَا للأطفالِ.

كانتْ أكبرُ أمنياتِهِ أنْ يُرزَقَ بِطفلٍ.

يا إلهيَ العزيزَ، لو كانَ لَديَّ طفلٌ لِيتمكنَ مِنَ اللعِبِ بهذهِ الألعابِ التي أصنَعُهَا.

وقد يكونُ أيضَاً رَفيقاً لي في لَيالِي الشتاءِ الطويلةِ.

في أحدِ الأيامِ، ذَهبَ إلى الغابةِ وكانَ يَبحثُ عَنِ الخَشبِ المُناسبِ للدُمى الجديدةِ التي كانَ سيقومُ بصنعِهَا.

هذا هُوَ الخَشبُ الذي أبحثُ عنْهُ. صَلبٌ ولكن لَيِنٌ بما فيه الكِفاية للنحتِ.

يُمكنُنِي بِسُهولةٍ صُنْعُ الأنفِ والفمِ والذِراعَين.

سَتَكونُ دُميةً رَائعةً.

وَضعَ الحَطبَ الذي وَجدَهُ على كَتفَيهِ وعَادَ إلى مَتجرِهِ ووَضَعَهُ على نُضُدِهِ.

وأقبلَ على العملِ ...

فجأةً سَمِعَ صَوتاً.

آااه!

مِنْ أينَ يَأتي هَذا الصَّوتُ؟

استمرَّ بالنحتِ مِنْ جَديدٍ.

آااااه!

أعتقدُ أني أحلُمُ.

هذا الصَّوتُ لا يُمكنُ أنْ يَأتي مِنَ الحَطَبِ. لا بُدَّ أنني أتخيلُ.

اعْتَقدَ أنَّ الصوتَ قَادمٌ مِنَ الخَارِجِ، وَاصلَ غيبيتو العملَ بِصَبرٍ ودِقةٍ كَبيرَين.

أنْهَى رأسَ الدُميةِ والجِسمِ والذِراعَين والسَاقَين. كانَ مُعجباً بِعملِهِ.

يا لها مِنْ دُميةٍ جَميلةٍ!

لكنَّهَا تَحتاجُ إلى مَلابسٍ وحِذاءٍ.

ألْبَسَ الدُميةَ وَزْرَةً وحِذاءَ أطفالٍ كانوا في المَتجرِ.

تَحولَتْ لِتُشبِهَ صَبياً جَميلاً، أجلَسَ الدُّميةَ على الطَاولةِ.

نَظرَاً لأنَّهُ ليسَ لَدَيَّ أطفالٌ، يُمكنُنِي أنْ أكونَ صَديقاً لهذهِ الدُّميةِ.

إني حتى فَكرْتُ بإسمٍ لهَا.

... نعم ... سيكونُ بينوكيو! يجبُ أنْ يَكونَ اسمُكِ بينوكيو أيَّتُها الدُّميةُ الصَغيرةُ.

بَدأَ بِتنظيفِ نُضُدِهِ، لكنَّهُ سَمعَ صَوتَاً خَلفَهُ.

مَساءُ الخيرِ.

تَلفَّتَ حَولَهُ ولكن لا يُوجدُ أحدٌ سِوى الدُّمية.

استمرَّ بالتنظيفِ.

مَرحباً أبي غيبيتو!

فَجأةً قَفزَ بينوكيو مِنْ على الطَّاولةِ إلى الأرضِ.

بَدأ بالتجوُّلِ في المَتجرِ.

يا إلهي... الدُّميةُ بينوكيو على قَيدِ الحياةِ!

كانَ يُراقبُهُ بدهشةٍ وعينَينِ مَفتوحتَينِ على وُسعهِمَا.

لَمْ يَكنْ بينوكيو بَشراً، لكنَّهُ كانَ يَتحدثُ ويَمشي ويَلعبُ.

مَرَّتِ الأيامُ والأسابيعُ ...

كانَ غيبيتو سَعيداً جداً.

لَمْ يَترُكْ بينوكيو مَتجرَ النَّجارِ.

كانَ يُساعدُهُ في جَميعِ أعمالِهِ وفي الليلِ يَجلُسانِ ويَتحادثانِ بجوارِ المِدفأةِ.

هلْ يُمكنكَ أنْ تُمررَ ليَّ المِنشارَ يا بينوكيو؟

طبعاً يا أبي.

أينَ المَساميرُ يا بينوكيو؟

هَا هِيَ...

بِهذهِ الطريقةِ، عَاشَا بِسعادةٍ لِبضعِ سَنواتٍ.

لَقدْ حَانَ الوقتُ لِذهابِ بينوكيو إلى المَدرسةِ.

لكنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَديهِمَا مالٌ لِشراءِ دَفترٍ أو قَلَمِ رَصاصٍ أو حَقيبةٍ مَدرسيةٍ.

كانَ لدى غيبيتو سَاعةَ أبيهِ، أخذَ هذهِ الساعةَ إلى مَتجرٍ للأَغراضِ القَديمةِ، وبَاعَهَا وقَدَّمَ كُلَّ الأموالِ إلى بينوكيو.

بينوكيو، هذهِ أموالُكَ، لَكنَّنِي أُعطِيهَا لكَ لشراءِ الأشياءِ التي تَحتاجُهَا للمدرسةِ.

اذهبْ واشتري لِنفسِكَ دَفتراً وقَلَمَ رَصاصٍ وحَقيبةً مَدرسيةً، وتَوجَّهْ إلى المَدرسةِ.

وَضعَ بينوكيو كُلَّ الأموالِ في جَيبِهِ وتَوجَّهَ إلى المَدرسةِ.

وبينما كانَ يَنظُرُ إلى المَتاجرِ علی طريقِهِ، لاحظَهُ النَّاسُ وكانوا يُحدقُونَ بِهِ.

"يا لهُ مِنْ طِفلٍ غَريبٍ؛ بِنَظرةِ دُميةٍ خَشبيةٍ".

بَعدَ بَعضِ الوقتِ، ظَهرتْ أمامَهُ خَيمةً مُلونةً ضَخمةً.

كانَ هُناكَ حَشدٌ عندَ البَابِ يَدفعونَ المَالَ ويَدخلون.

بِدافعِ الفُضولِ قَدِمَ إلى البَابِ. كانَ هُناكَ مُهرجٌ على البَابِ يَجعلُ الناسَ يَضحكونَ ويَأخذُ الناسَ الذينَ دَفعوا لَهُ المَالَ إلى الدَّاخلِ.

مَا هذهِ الخَيمةُ يا سيدي؟ مَاذا يُوجدُ في الدَّاخلِ؟ هلْ يُمكنُنِي الدُّخولُ؟

هذا سِيركٌ! لا يُمكنُكَ الدُّخولُ إنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ تَملِكُ المَالَ.

تَذكَّرَ المَالَ الذي في جَيبِهِ والذي أعْطاهُ لهُ أبوهُ لَيذهبَ إلى المَدرسةِ.

لَديَّ المَالَ … تَفضَّلْ!

دَخَلَ.

في الدَّاخلِ كانَ هُناكَ شَخصٌ على خَشَبَةِ المَسرحِ يُحركُ الدُّمى ويَجعلُهَا تَتحدثُ وتَرقصُ.

هذهِ دُمى مِثلي!

كانَ سَعيداً لِرؤيةِ شَخصٍ مِثلِهِ تَماماً، قَفَزَ بينوكيو على المَسرحِ.

صَرخَ مُحركُ الدُّمى مَصدوماً عِندما رَآهُ.

يا إلهي! هذهِ الدُّميةُ تَتحركُ لِوَحدِهَا!

سَأجنِي أموالاً طَائلةً بِسبَبِهِ. ههههه!

هاي يا صَغير، تَعالَ إلى هُنَا. يُوجدُ عَرضٌ رَائعٌ للحيواناتِ بالدَّاخلِ.

هلْ تُريدُ المُشاهدةَ؟

حَقاً؟ طَبعاً أُريدُ، أينَ؟ في هذهِ الغُرفةِ؟

دَخلَ بينوكيو الذي صَدَّقَ مُحرِّكَ الدُّمى إلى الغُرفةِ،

لكن بِمُجرَّدِ دُخولِ بينوكيو، حَبَسَهُ مُحرِّكُ الدُّمی في الغُرفةِ.

المِسكِينُ بينوكيو كانَ حَزيناً جِداً وبَدأ بِالبُكاءِ.

لَقدْ ارتكبتُ خَطأً كَبيراً.

أنفقتُ مَالَ المَدرسةِ.

وعَصَيتُ أيضاً والدي، لذلكَ أنا الآنَ في وَرطةٍ. ما الذي سَأفعلُهُ الآنَ؟ ايه ايه ايه

رَأتْ جِنيَّةٌ طَيبةٌ بينوكيو وهُوَ يَبكي بِنَدمٍ، دَخلتْ مِنْ خِلالِ النَافذةِ المَفتوحةِ وهَبَطتْ على الطَاولةِ في الغُرفةِ التي كانَ بينوكيو فيها.

كانتْ جِنيَّةً جَميلةً بِعَصاهَا السِّحريةِ، وأجْنحتِهَا البَراقَةِ وشَعرِهَا الأشقر. مَرحباً يا بينوكيو! لا تَقلقْ. سَوفَ أُنقذُكَ. لكنْ أولاً عليكَ إخباري كُلَّ ما حَدَثَ. لكنْ لا تَنسَ، عليكَ إخباري الحَقيقة.

آه... أعْطانِي أبي مَالاً لِآتيَّ إلى السِّيركِ، لكنْ جَاءَ رَجلٌ فجأةً وحَبسَنِي هُنا. صُدِمَ بينوكيو عِندمَا رَأى أنفَهُ يَنمو.

آه... ما الذي يَجري؟

أخبرتُكَ أنَّهُ يَتوجبُ عَليكَ قولُ الحَقيقةِ يا بينوكيو. إذا كَذبتَ سَيَطولُ أنفُكَ أكثرَ.

الآنَ سَأنقذُكَ مِنْ هُنا وأُعِيدُ لَكَ أموالَكَ.

لكنْ لا تَرتكِبْ نَفْسَ الخَطأِ مَرَةً أُخرَى!

أنتِ فِعلاً جِنيَّةٌ طَيبةٌ. شُكراً جَزِيلاً ...

أعدُكِ أنني لَنْ أفعلَ ذلكَ مَرةً أُخرى.

لَقدْ كانَ خَطأي أنْ أدخُلَ السِّيركَ الذي يُسيءُ مُعاملةَ الحَيواناتِ في المَقامِ الأولِ.

أنا خَجِلٌ مِنْ نَفْسي جِدَّاً.

فَتحَتِ الجِنيَّةُ الطَيبةُ البَابَ بِعَصاهَا السِّحريةِ وأخَذتْ بينوكيو خَارجَ السِيركِ.

ذَهبَ بينوكيو في طَريقِهِ يُغنِي وهُوَ ذَاهبٌ إلى المَدرسةِ.

لا لا لا لا لا …

بَينمَا كانَ يَسيرُ بِفرحٍ ظَهرَ ثَعلبٌ مَاكرٌ وغُرابٌ أمامَهُ.

أيُّ نَوعٍ مِنَ الأطفالِ هَذا؟ يَبدُو أحمقاً حقاً.

رُبما يَملُكُ مَالاً في جَيبِهِ أيضاً.

أنت … أينَ تَذهبُ؟

أنا ذَاهبٌ إلى المَدرسةِ.

حَسناً، ألا تَملُكُ دَفتراً أو قَلَماً أو حَقيبةً؟ كَيفَ سَتذهبُ إلى المَدرسةِ؟

لا أملُكُ، لكنَّ مَالِي في جَيبِي وسَأشْتَريهِم بهِ.

نَظرَ الثَّعلبُ والغُرابُ إلى بَعضهِما البَعضِ وبَدأَا يَضحكَانِ بِخُبثٍ.

لا يُمكنُكَ شِرَاءُ كُلِّ هذهِ الأشياءِ بِه،

لكنَّني أعرِفُ مَتجَرَاً يَبيعُ كلَّ شَيءٍ بِنِصفِ السعرِ.

إذا أرَدْتَ، أعطِنَا المَالَ، سَنركُضُ ونُحضِرُهَا لكَ في لَحظةٍ.

بِالإضافةِ إلى ذلكَ، سَيَزيدُ مَعكَ بَعضُ المَالِ.

انْتَظرَ … انْتَظرَ … وانْتَظرَ.

بَعدَ فَترةٍ طَويلةٍ، أدركَ بينوكيو أخيرَاً أنَّهُ تَعرَّضَ لِلخِداعِ.

كانَ يُفكِّرُ بِحزنٍ ماذا سَيَفعلُ. فَجأةً، ظَهرتِ الجِّنيَّةُ الطَيبةُ أمامَهُ مَرَّةً أُخرى مُرَفرِفَةً بِجنَاحَيهَا.

ألَمْ تَذهَبْ إلى المَدرسةِ بَعد، لِمَ أنتَ هُنا؟

أرجو أنَّكَ لَمْ تَنسَ المَرةَ المَاضِيةَ … الرَجاء أخْبِرنِي الحَقيقةَ.

خَجِلاً أنَّ أموالَهُ قَدْ سُرِقَتْ٬ كَذَبَ بينوكيو مَرَّةً أُخرى.

آااه… لَقدْ أَوقَعتُ المَالَ مِنْ جَيبِي.

صُدِمَ بينوكيو مَرَّةً أُخرى عندما رَأى أنفَهُ يَنمُو فَجأةً.

لَقدْ أخبرتُكَ أنْ تَقولَ الحَقيقةَ يا بينوكيو. إذا كَذَبْتَ سَيَطولُ أنفُكَ أكثرَ هذهِ المَرة.

اعْتَذرَ بينوكيو وأخبرَ الجِّنيَّةَ الطَيبةَ الحَقيقَةَ كَاملةً. مَرَّةً أُخرى عَادَ أنفُهُ إلى طَبيعَتِهِ.

شُكراً جَزيلًا لكِ، لكنِّي ما زِلتُ لا أمْلُكُ المَالَ لِشراءِ دَفترٍ وقَلَمٍ وحَقيبةٍ مَدرسيةٍ. أنا مُحرجٌ لِلغايةِ.

بِمَا أنكَ أخبرتَنِي الحَقيقةَ، عَادَتِ النُقودُ إلى جَيبِكَ. لَكنْ لا تَفقِدْهَا ثَانيةً!

بَينما كانَ بينوكيو يَسيرُ ويُغني على الطَّريقِ، فَجأةً صَادَفَ مُحَرِّكَ الدُّمَى الذي كانَ في السِّيركِ.

حَالَما رَأى بينوكيو الذي هَربَ مِنَ السِّيركِ، بَدَأ بِمُطاردَتِهِ.

تَعالي إلى هُنا أيتُها الدُّميَّةُ الشَقيَّةُ.

بَينمَا كانَ بينوكيو يَهربُ وهوَ خَائفٌ تَعثَّرَ بِحَجَرَةٍ ووَقعَ مُباشرةً في البَحرِ.

اااه … سَاعدونِي! … سَاعدونِي!

ولَكنْ لأنَّهُ كانَ مَصنوعَاً مِنَ الخَشَبِ، لَمْ يَغرق.

بَينمَا كانَ يُحرِّكُ يَدَيهِ ورَجلَيهِ حتى لا يَغرقُ، أَدركَ أنَّهُ كانَ يَسبحُ.

لقدْ أحبَّ ذلكَ كَثيراً، لذا سَبَحَ، سَبَحَ، وسَبَحَ.

ولكنْ في ذلكَ اليوم، كانَ البَحرُ مَائجَاً جداً. سَحبتْهُ الأمواجُ بَعيداً جداً.

لَقدْ كانَ بَعيداً في البَحرِ، لِدرجةِ أنَّهُ كانَ يَشعُرُ بِالنُعاسِ مِنَ الإرهاقِ،

عِندما اسْتَيقظَ، وَجدَ نَفسَهُ في مَكانٍ مُظلمٍ.

مَاذا يَحدُثُ؟ أينَ أنا؟ ما هَذا المَكانُ؟

أوووف، رَائِحَتُهُ كَريهةٌ.

عِندما اعتادَتْ عَينَاهُ على الظَلامِ، أدرَكَ الآنَ أنَّهُ في بَطنِ حُوتٍ كَبيرٍ. اتَّضحَ أنَّ حُوتَاً كَبيراً قَدْ ابتلعَهُ.

كانَ غيبيتو قَلِقَاً على بينوكيو الذي مَا زَالَ لَمْ يَعُدْ إلى المَنزلِ.

خَرجَ لِلبَحثِ عَنهُ. سَألَ كُلَّ شَخصٍ صَادفَهُ.

هلْ رَأيتُمْ صَبياً خَشبياً صَغيراً مَرَّ مِنْ هُنا؟

قَطعَ الطَّريقَ كُلَّهُ حتى الشَّاطئِ وسَألَ الصَّيادِين.

قَبلَ سَاعةٍ وَقعَ طِفلٌ في البَحرِ بالقُربِ مِنْ هُنا. رُبَما كانَ وَلدُكَ.

رَجاءً أعْطِني قَارِبَاً. سَأخرُجُ إلى البَحرِ. عَليَّ أنْ أجِدَهُ!

أعْطاهُ الصَّيادُ قَاربَاً صَغيرَاً.

صَعَدَ غيبيتو إلى القَارِبِ وأبحَرَ.

بينوكيو… يا ولدي … بينوكيوووو! أينَ أنتَ؟

القَاربُ الصَّغيرُ لَمْ يَستَطِعْ مُقاومةَ الأمواجِ، وعِندما انْقَلبَ، سَقطَ غيبيتو في البَحرِ.

الحُوتُ الذي ابتلعَ بينوكيو قَامَ بِابتلاعِ غيبيتو أيضاً.

كَما أنَّه لَمْ يَعرِفْ مَكانَ وجودِهِ بِسبَبِ الظَّلامِ الدَامِسِ. لكنَّ بينوكيو رَآهُ وبَدأ في البُكاءِ.

أبي … أبي، لَقدْ وَجدْتَنِي! لَقدْ كُنتُ خَائفاً جِداً. ايه ايه ايه

بينوكيو، وَلدِي … وَلدِي!

سَامِحْنِي يا أبي. لَنْ أعْصِيكَ مَرَّةً أُخرى.

حَسناً يا بينوكيو، سَنَتحدَّثُ بِذلكَ في المَنزلِ.

الآنَ دَعنَا نَبحَثُ عَنْ طَريقٍ لِلخُروجِ مِنْ هُنا.

سَأُجرِّبُ شَيئاً يا أبي. آمُلُ أنْ نَنجحَ.

أيَّتُها الجِّنيَّةُ الطَيبةُ … هَلْ تَستطيعِينَ سَماعِي؟

حَمَلَتِ الأمواجُ صَوتَهُ إلى أُذُنَي الجِّنيَّةِ الطَيبةِ.

يا إلهي هذا صَوتُ بينوكيو!

طَارَتِ الجِّنيَّةُ بِاتِجَاهِ الصَّوتِ وظَهرَتْ دَاخِلَ بَطنِ الحُوتِ حيثُ كَانَا.

أنتَ نَادِمٌ بِحَقٍّ يا بينوكيو وسَأُساعدُكَ لِلمَرَّةِ الأَخِيرةِ.

عِندمَا لَمَسَتْهُم بِعَصَاهَا السِّحريةِ، وَجَدَا نَفْسَيهِمَا على الشَّاطئِ.

بَعدَ ذلكَ اليوم، أصبحَ بينوكيو طِفلاً ذَكياً جداً.

كانَ دَائماً يَستمِعُ إلى وَالدِهُ.

كانَ يَذهبُ إلى المَدرسةِ ويُساعِدُ وَالدَهُ تَمامَاً كالأيامِ المَاضيةِ.

اخْتَبرتِ الجِّنيَّةُ الطَيبةُ بينوكيو مِنْ وَقتٍ لِآخر. عَرفَتْ أنَّ بينوكيو لَمْ يَكذِبْ بَعدَ ذلكَ، وأنَّهُ كانَ يَستمِعُ دَائماً إلى وَالدِهِ.

قالتْ "الآنَ هوَ الوَقتُ المِثالي"

وفي إحْدَى الليالي،

حَولَتْ بينوكيو إلى طَفلٍ حَقيقِيٍ أثْناءَ نَومِهِ!

عِندمَا اسْتيقظَ بينوكيو في اليَومِ التَّالي، شَعرَ بِشيءٍ غَريبٍ.

كانَ قَلبُهُ يَنبِضُ، وشَعرَ بالدمِ يَتدفَقُ في جَميعِ أنحاءِ جِسمِهِ.

لَمْ يَعُدْ مَصنُوعَاً مِنَ الخَشَبِ بَلْ كانَ طِفلاً حَقيقيَّاً. رَكضَ مُباشرَةً إلى وَالدِهِ.

أبي، أبي انْظُرْ كَمْ تَغَيَّرْتُ!

يا إلهي، لَقدْ اُسْتُجِيبَتْ دَعَواتِي! لَديَّ طِفلٌ حَقيقِيٌ الآنَ!

بَعدَ ذَلكَ اليوم، عَاشَا بِسعادةٍ دَائمةٍ.

كانَ بينوكيو الآنَ وَلداً ذا مَدْعَاةٍ لِلفَخرِ.
