NARRADOR Pobre conejo. Estaba triste porque los animales más grandes no lo respetaban. Especialmente el enorme hipopótamo y el grandullón elefante. Ellos creían que el conejo era poca cosa.

NARRADOR Un día, el conejo estaba muy feliz porque estaba saboreando una suculenta ensalada de hierbas.

NARRADOR Pero de repente...

NARRADOR Era el enorme elefante y le gritó enojado.

ELEFANTE Oye, orejudo, no te comas esa ensalada porque es mía. Todo lo que está en esta zona es mío.

NARRADOR El pobre conejo agachó sus orejas y se fue.

NARRADOR En otra oportunidad, el conejo iba saltando y saltando hacia el río donde estaba el enorme hipopótamo bañándose, y le dijo:

HIPOPÓTAMO Oye, no intentes meterte al río. ¿O acaso no ves que me estoy bañando?

NARRADOR El pobre conejo muy triste agachó sus orejas y se fue.

NARRADOR Entonces, el conejo pensó:

CONEJO (REVER) Soy pequeño, pero no necesito un enorme cuerpo para que los demás animales me respeten. Lo que sí necesito son buenas ideas.

CONEJO Ya sé.

NARRADOR El conejo se fue saltando hacia el río donde estaba sentado el enorme hipopótamo durmiendo su siesta y comenzó a burlarse y a cantar.

CONEJO ¡Un hipopótamo, dos panzudos, tres dentudos, cuatro cabezudos...!

NARRADOR Y el hipopótamo se paró indignado y le dijo:

HIPOPÓTAMO Oye, orejudo, muy pronto te masticaré y te tragaré...

CONEJO Eso es lo que tú crees, mi querido barrigoncito. Lo que tú no sabes es que yo soy más fuerte que tú. Para demostrarlo propongo una lucha y el que gane será el amo de todo el río.

NARRADOR Sorprendido, el hipopótamo preguntó:

HIPOPÓTAMO ¿A qué quieres jugar?

CONEJO Aquí tienes el extremo de una cuerda. Yo cruzaré el río y halaré. El que hale más fuerte ganará. ¿De acuerdo?

HIPOPÓTAMO ¡Probemos!... Aunque estoy seguro de que te ganaré.

NARRADOR Luego, el conejo fue rápidamente saltando y saltando en busca del elefante y comenzó a burlarse de él.

CONEJO (RISAS) Oye, amigo, tú sí que te ves gracioso con esa enorme manguera debajo de tu cara.

NARRADOR El elefante se paró indignado y gritó:

ELEFANTE Oye, orejudo, muy pronto te aplastaré y te masticaré...

CONEJO Eso es lo que tú crees, mi viejo amigo. Lo que tú no sabes es que yo soy más fuerte que tú. Para demostrártelo propongo una lucha y el que gane será el amo de toda esta zona..

ELEFANTE ¿A qué quieres jugar?

NARRADOR Preguntó el elefante.

CONEJO Aquí tienes el extremo de una cuerda. Yo cruzaré el río y halaré, el que hale más fuerte ganará. ¿De acuerdo?

ELEFANTE ¡Probemos!

NARRADOR Dijo el elefante, seguro de su victoria.

NARRADOR Luego, el conejo fue a una pequeña isla que estaba por allí y pegó un grito en señal de que el juego ya había comenzado.

CONEJO ¡Ya!

NARRADOR El elefante y el hipopótamo comenzaron a halar... y cada halón se volvía más fuerte que el anterior y ambos pensaban:

ELEFANTE ¿Cómo el orejudo puede ser tan fuerte?

NARRADOR Y halaban y halaban fuertemente y seguían halando. Finalmente, exhaustos y derrotados cayeron.

NARRADOR Y así fue como el conejo con su inteligencia pudo conseguir la victoria con los animales más grandes.
