Amal Visits her daughter in London

Last Saturday Amal, who lives in Glasgow, took the train to London to visit her daughter, Mariam.

Mariam lives in London. She lives in a flat with her husband. His name is Khaled. They don't have any children yet but she is expecting a baby in March.

On Sunday they went to a big outdoor market. There were so many stalls with different food and clothes. They bought ingredients to make Arabic sweets. Amal also bought a beautiful blue headscarf with flowers for her niece who lives in Glasgow.

On Monday, Mariam's friend Shabana, from Afghanistan, invited them to come and cook at her house. Shabana's friend Moska was also there. She is also from Afghanistan. They spoke Arabic, English and Pashto. Moska couldn't speak a lot of English because she came to the UK only two months ago, but Shabana translated for her.

On Tuesday, Mariam, Shabana and Amal took the bus to the city centre. They visited many places. In the morning, they visited Buckingham Palace and Big Ben. Shabana took a photo of Amal and her daughter in front of the palace. In the afternoon, they ate kebabs. They went back to Mariam's flat before it was dark. In the evening, they had coffee together and spoke about names for the baby.

On Wednesday, they went to Oxford Street. It's a big street in the centre of London with lots of shops. They liked looking at all the clothes in the shops.

On Thursday, Amal said goodbye and went back to Glasgow in the morning. Her daughter will visit her in Glasgow after the baby is born.
