The Wolf and the Seven Children

This is a story by the Grimm Brothers.

It is a story about listening to your mother and being safe.

Mother Goat is talking to her seven children.

"I'm going away today. Do not let the Big Bad Wolf in the house. He will eat you," she says.

"Only open the door for me. You know it will be me by my voice and white feet," she says.

"OK, Mother," they say.

"We will open the door only for you."

Soon after their mother goes, they hear a noise at the door.

"It's me, your mother. Let me in," somebody says.

One of the goats looks out of the window.

She sees brown feet.

"Oh no! It's the Big Bad Wolf!"

"Go away, Big Bad Wolf," she says.

The wolf goes away.

The wolf goes to his house and puts flour on his feet.

He goes back to the goats' house.

"Let me in. It's your mother," he says in a soft voice.

The goats look out of the window and see white feet.

"It's Mother," says a goat.

"She's home. Open the door."

The wolf goes in the house.

"I'm not your mother. But you are my dinner!" he says.

The little goats are very afraid.

But Mother Goat comes home.

"My children are not your dinner!" she says.

She chases the wolf out of the house.
