A vegetarian is a person who doesn't eat meat. Some vegetarians eat fish but some don't eat fish. It depends on the person. Vegetarians can eat eggs, milk and other dairy food. Vegetarians eat lots of fruit and vegetables. Fruit and vegetables are very healthy. 10% of the UK population are vegetarians.

A vegan is not the same as a vegetarian. Vegans don't eat meat or fish. They also don't eat things that come from animals. For example, vegans don't eat eggs because they come from chickens. Vegans also don't drink milk because it comes from cows. They drink almond milk, coconut milk, or oat milk. Vegans don't eat dairy food. For example, they don't eat cheese, yoghurt or butter. They don't even eat honey. 3% of the UK population are vegan.
