Italian LingQ Podcast 2.0, #5: La voce di Vegeta, Marshall e Gordon Ramsay [2]

#5: La voce di Vegeta, Marshall e Gordon Ramsay [2]

MICHELE: Di spostarsi.

Infatti tu vivi a Milano, giusto?

GIANLUCA: Sì, vivo a Milano.

MICHELE: Ok.

GIANLUCA: Quindi niente, sto qui. Mi va bene stare qua.

Potevo anche scegliere di andare a Roma.

Però non l'ho fatto. Ci vado ogni tanto a doppiare,

Fissato di "How I met your mother",

MICHELE: Esatto.

GIANLUCA: È come i bambini quando dicono "io voglio fare l'astronauta".

Ho capito... MICHELE: Eh certo.

è come studiare uno strumento musicale.

GIANLUCA: Bravo. MICHELE: Di Angus Young.

Ma se non sai suonarla questa chitarra...

diventa difficile come cosa, no?

E allora in quel caso lì

riescono a fare questo lavoro, no?

MICHELE: Vero.

MICHELE: Ok.

MICHELE: E a livello lavorativo cambia qualcosa?

Cioè rispetto a doppiare un film o un videogioco,

o una serie Tv.

A livello tecnico, lavorativo.

MICHELE: Non vogliamo offendere nessuno.

Quindi chiamiamoli anche anime.

Esatto.

Ma va be'.

in inglese o altro,

MICHELE: Eh be', sì.

MICHELE: Ok, niente!

GIANLUCA: Quasi mai niente, a parte qualche cinematic del gioco.

Mi è successo in Far Cry 5

di vedere... MICHELE: Qualche scena.

MICHELE: Ok.

Dipende chi vince, chi perde e cosa succede.

MICHELE: Mamma mia!

Andiamo, dai forza!

Così.

Per me è meccanico ormai, quindi...

GIANLUCA: Io ormai, va be'.

MICHELE: Però tre ore, sembra impegnativa come cosa.

GIANLUCA: Mi piacerebbe doppiare...

sempre vista e rivista e allora è diverso.

Voglio dire, Joaquin Phoenix nell'ultimo Joker

per me è stato superbravo.

Quindi confrontarsi con uno così...

eh beh. MICHELE: È un'altra storia.

GIANLUCA: Tanta roba.

MICHELE: Va bene, quindi preparatevi.

GIANLUCA: Dai.

perché secondo me è un mondo

dove la cultura italiana è molto forte, secondo me.

Quindi è anche figo scoprire questo settore.

Perché secondo me all'estero non è così conosciuto,

non è così popolare, comune.

Invece in Italia è una cosa diversa.

GIANLUCA: Piccola cosa prima di lasciarci. MICHELE: Certo.

E niente, grazie ancora Gianluca. Davvero.

Grazie di tutto.

MICHELE: Alla prossima. GIANLUCA: Dimmi quando esce così la vedo.

GIANLUCA: È come i bambini quando dicono "io voglio fare l'astronauta". GIANLUCA: It's like children when they say, "I want to be an astronaut."

GIANLUCA: It's not like you just put on a suit and go.

Devi farti un mazzo così a studiare aeronautica e quant'altro. You have to work your butt off studying aeronautics and whatnot.

Insomma c'è un percorso lungo. Kurz gesagt, es ist eine lange Reise. In short, there is a long path.

E il doppiaggio anche. Und die Synchronisation auch. And the dubbing as well.

GIANLUCA: Fare il chitarrista vero vuol dire studiare tanto. GIANLUCA: Being a real guitarist means studying a lot.

GIANLUCA: That's something I always say, too.

You can have a 100,000-euro piano,

bellissimo, Schön, beautiful,

MICHELE: Ok. MICHELE: Okay.

ad esempio videogiochi, film, serie Tv. e.g. video games, movies, TV series.

GIANLUCA: Le robe che mi danno più soddisfazione GIANLUCA: Die Dinge, die mir am meisten Freude bereiten GIANLUCA: The stuff that gives me the most satisfaction.

It's actually the movies.

MICHELE: Ok.

GIANLUCA: Doppiare un bravo attore in un film. GIANLUCA: Dubbing a good actor in a movie.

Denn dort bringst du dein ganzes Dasein als guter Schauspieler ins Spiel. Because there you put all your being a good actor on the line.

Quindi è importante. MICHELE: Certo. Es ist also wichtig. MICHAEL: Sicher. So it's important. MICHELE: Sure.

GIANLUCA: Un bravo attore ti dà la possibilità GIANLUCA: Ein guter Schauspieler gibt dir die Chance GIANLUCA: A good actor gives you the opportunity.

First and foremost to be faithful to the work he did,

MICHELE: Ok.

GIANLUCA: Beat after beat, all along the path of the...

MICHELE: Is it a bit boring as a job in this case not seeing anything?

GIANLUCA: Dipende da cosa fai. GIANLUCA: It depends on what you do.

There are times that yes.

In the sense that if you have to make a war game or one that is a bit repetitive,

And so you have to do a whole series of things....

Ho fatto per esempio... I did for example.

tanto è di pubblico dominio quindi lo posso dire, Es ist also öffentlich zugänglich, so dass ich es sagen kann, so much is in the public domain so I can say it,

il commentatore dell'ultimo gioco di formula 1. The commentator of the latest formula 1 game.

MICHELE: Ok, figo. MICHELE: Okay, cool.

GIANLUCA: In which, however, I made all the possible variations as you do in games.

Dipende chi vince, chi perde e cosa succede. Es hängt davon ab, wer gewinnt, wer verliert und was passiert. It depends on who wins, who loses and what happens.

MICHELE: Mamma mia! MICHELE: Mamma mia!

GIANLUCA: Tutte le varianti in cui GIANLUCA: All the variations in which

"e il nostro Leclerc non è riuscito purtroppo ad arrivare in fondo", "und unser Leclerc hat es leider nicht bis zum Ende geschafft", "and our Leclerc unfortunately did not make it to the bottom."

"e il nostro...", ecc. E lo fai per tutti. "and our...," etc. And you do it for everybody.

Quindi diventa meno creativo, ma più seriale. So it becomes less creative, but more serial.

Quindi dopo un po' mi addormento. MICHELE: Sì, esatto. Also schlafe ich nach einer Weile ein. MICHELE: Ja, das ist richtig. So after a while I fall asleep. MICHELE: Yes, that's right.

There were times really when.

ripetendo tantissime cose per tre ore, Repeating so many things for three hours,

perché un turno dura tre ore circa, Because a shift lasts about three hours,

che dopo un po' davvero facevo: [inaudible]. That after a while I really did: [inaudible].

Andiamo, dai forza! Auf geht's, kommt schon! Let's go, come on now!

Così. Thus.

Per me è meccanico ormai, quindi... Für mich ist es jetzt mechanisch, also... For me it's mechanical now, so ...

One who has just started would be there like that.

Con gli occhi sbarrati. MICHELE: Ah beh, sì certo. Wide-eyed. MICHELE: Ah well, yes of course.

GIANLUCA: Io ormai, va be'. GIANLUCA: Für mich schon, egal. GIANLUCA: Me by now, whatever.

MICHELE: Però tre ore, sembra impegnativa come cosa. MICHELE: Aber drei Stunden, das klingt anspruchsvoll. MICHELE: Three hours, though, sounds challenging as a thing.

Also because we are using our own voice.

È stancante anche a livello fisico. It is also physically tiring.

GIANLUCA: Ecco perché bisogna saperla usare, GIANLUCA: Deshalb muss man wissen, wie man es benutzt, GIANLUCA: That's why you have to know how to use it,

perché se no ci si stanca molto più in fretta. denn sonst wird man viel schneller müde. Because otherwise you get tired much faster.

MICHELE: Sì, esatto. Perdi la voce dopo nemmeno 10 minuti. MICHELE: Yes, that's right. You lose your voice after not even 10 minutes. MICHELE : Oui, exactement.

GIANLUCA: Immaginati un gioco di guerra, un Call of Duty, GIANLUCA: Stellen Sie sich ein Kriegsspiel vor, ein Call of Duty, GIANLUCA: Imagine a war game, a Call of Duty,

Of the several that are there.

E tu devi urlare: "GRANATA!" And you have to shout, "GRANATA!"

"SPARIAMO!"

"FORZA!" "FORCE!" "FORCE!"

Tutto il tempo così. Die ganze Zeit so. All the time like this.

Se non la sai usare, cinque minuti... If you don't know how to use it, five minutes ...

MICHELE: Das stimmt, dann ist deine Stimme weg. MICHELE: That's right, then your voice goes away.

Sì è vero, mamma mia. Yes it's true, mamma mia.

Un'ultima domanda riguardo sempre al doppiaggio. One last question always about dubbing.

Is there a particular character you would like to dub in the future?

An actor, or a character in some movie, TV series.

Non so, hai un'idea? I don't know, do you have an idea?

GIANLUCA: Mi piacerebbe doppiare... GIANLUCA: I would like to dub...

MICHELE: O magari qualcosa che deve ancora uscire. MICHELE: Or maybe something that has yet to come out.

Also a Marvel movie they want to do in the future.

GIANLUCA: Un supereroe non mi dispiacerebbe, GIANLUCA: Ich hätte nichts gegen einen Superhelden, GIANLUCA: I wouldn't mind a superhero, GIANLUCA : Un super-héros ne me déplairait pas,

Since I've always had a bit of a dark soul.

Soprattutto quando ero ragazzino, ora meno ovviamente. Especially when I was a kid, now less obviously.

Batman o Joker,

Which are then two sides of the same coin.

Batman in his being so, with the voice more...

grattata. scratch.

MICHELE: Beh, tu hai una voce profonda. MICHELE: Well, you have a deep voice.

Quindi insomma... So in short.

Then if one plays with it a little bit, the voice one can make it.

puoi fare Marshal che è una cosa, you can do marshal which is one thing,

Or you can do Gordon which is another one, so ...

Or Joker, who is a raving lunatic, and then even there ...

i pazzi sono sempre... crazy people are always...

MICHELE: Eh sì. MICHELE: Yeah.

Delle belle sfida da affrontare. Einige schöne Herausforderungen. Some good challenges to face.

MICHELE: È anche difficile da recitare. MICHELE: It is also difficult to act.

Perché devi immedesimarti. Because you have to empathize. Parce qu'il faut faire preuve d'empathie.

Because then the crazy person, as well as the drunk in the movies,

Oft besteht die Gefahr, dass man ins Spektakel verfällt. often the risk is to fall into speckiness.

By speck I mean the stereotype. Par stéréotype, j'entends stéréotype.

Cioè faccio l'ubriaco in questo modo qui. Ich meine, ich bin hier so betrunken. I mean I play drunk like this here.

Doing it instead in a slightly more original way requires work...

MICHELE: È vero. Perché se no diventa una cosa monotona MICHELE: That's true. Because otherwise it becomes a monotonous thing

sempre vista e rivista e allora è diverso. always seen and seen again, and then it's different.

The finished product is more beautiful if it is more original.

GIANLUCA: The deeper you go from a point of view...

The better the actor who does it.

Voglio dire, Joaquin Phoenix nell'ultimo Joker I mean, Joaquin Phoenix in the last Joker.

per me è stato superbravo. For me it was superbrave. Pour moi, c'était super-bravo.

Quindi confrontarsi con uno così... So to confront someone like that...

eh beh. MICHELE: È un'altra storia. eh well. MICHELE: That's another story.

GIANLUCA: Tanta roba. GIANLUCA: Eine ganze Menge. GIANLUCA: A lot of stuff.

MICHELE: Can you give me a final flash just to close this interview?

Per soddisfazione... Für die Zufriedenheit... For satisfaction...

I make you lose your voice.

Maybe there is someone sleeping, I don't know.

GIANLUCA: Non la perdo, più che altro faccio perdere l'udito GIANLUCA: I don't lose it, more like I make people lose their hearing.

To those who maybe turn on the video and don't expect it.

MICHELE: Va bene, quindi preparatevi. MICHELE: In Ordnung, also mach dich bereit. MICHELE: All right, so get ready.

GIANLUCA: Dai. GIANLUCA: Komm schon. GIANLUCA: Come on.

Lo faccio breve. Ich werde es kurz machen. I'll keep it short.

I say I make it short and then I make it long. MICHELE: And you make it really long.

Lampo finale! Final flash!

MICHELE: Ok, brividi. MICHELE: OK, Schüttelfrost. MICHELE: Okay, chills.

Ho la pelle d'oca. I have goosebumps.

Grazie mille. Thank you very much.

Ma stai ancora urlando? Oh, è così... But are you still screaming? Oh, that's so...

GIANLUCA: I stopped. MICHELE: I didn't hear anymore since it was so loud.

Anyway, thank you very much for accepting the invitation for this interview.

È stato un piacere. It was a pleasure.

Talking about the world of dubbing is also super interesting.

Avremo anche altri doppiatori/attori

perché secondo me è un mondo

dove la cultura italiana è molto forte, secondo me. Where the Italian culture is very strong, in my opinion.

Quindi è anche figo scoprire questo settore. So it is also cool to discover this area.

Perché secondo me all'estero non è così conosciuto, Because in my opinion abroad it is not so well known,

non è così popolare, comune. Is not so popular, common.

Invece in Italia è una cosa diversa. Instead, in Italy it is a different matter.

GIANLUCA: Piccola cosa prima di lasciarci. MICHELE: Certo. GIANLUCA: Eine Kleinigkeit, bevor wir gehen. MICHELE: Sicher. GIANLUCA: Little thing before we part ways. MICHELE: Sure.

GIANLUCA: Ho debuttato a giugno, ma lo farò quest'anno GIANLUCA: I debuted in June, but I will do it this year.

di sicuro a Milano, poi a Roma for sure in Milan, then in Rome

With the performance "Vegeta is dead and I killed him."

Which is a desecration of this relationship of mine with Vegeta,

in cui però parlo anche di doppiaggio, In which, however, I also talk about dubbing,

di cosa vive un doppiatore che torna a casa la sera What does a voice actor who comes home at night live on?

They always chase him.

So it is a comedy show, however, with serious food for thought.

On January 10 and 11 I am doing it in Milan at the Martinitt.

The first week of February I am doing it in Rome in the Teatro De' Servi.

MICHELE: Io ovviamente lascerò i link del tuo canale Youtube, MICHELE: I will of course leave the links to your YouTube channel,

della tua pagina instagram sotto questo video. Of your instagram page under this video.

Ovviamente se hai un link per... GIANLUCA: Assolutamente sì. Obviously if you have a link to... GIANLUCA: Absolutely, yes.

GIANLUCA: Ho un Linktree, ti mando quello. MICHELE: Perfetto. GIANLUCA: I have a Linktree, I'll send you that. MICHELE: Perfect.

Perfect, so then you send it to me and I put the whole thing under the interview video.

E niente, grazie ancora Gianluca. Davvero. Und nichts, danke nochmal Gianluca. Wirklich. And nothing, thank you again Gianluca. Really.

Grazie di tutto. Thank you for everything.

MICHELE: Alla prossima. MICHELE: See you next time. GIANLUCA: Tell me when she comes out so I can see her.
