There are four countries in the United Kingdom: England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. The capital city of England is London. London is also the capital city of the UK. The capital city of Scotland is Edinburgh. The capital city of Wales is Cardiff. The capital city of Northern Ireland is Belfast. Ireland is another country and is not in the UK. Each country of the UK has its own flag.

Great Britain and the UK are not the same. Great Britain is the name of an island. There are three countries on the island of Great Britain: England, Scotland, and Wales.

The population of the UK is about 67 million people. 84.2% of the UK's population lives in England. 8.2% of the UK's population lives in Scotland. 4.2% of the UK's population lives in Wales. 2.8% of the UK's population lives in Northern Ireland.
