Psalmus 1 Psalm 1

1 Beatus vir qui non abiit in consilio impiorum et in via peccatorum non stetit in cathedra derisorum non sedit 1 Blessed is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the wicked and has not stood in the way of sinners and has not sat in the seat of ridicule

2 sed in lege Domini voluntas eius et in lege eius meditabitur die ac nocte 2 But his will is in the law of the Lord, and in his law he will meditate day and night

3 et erit tamquam lignum transplantatum iuxta rivulos aquarum quod fructum suum dabit in tempore suo et folium eius non defluet et omne quod fecerit prosperabitur. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither and whatever he does shall prosper.

4 non sic impii sed tamquam pulvis quem proicit ventus 4 not so impious, but as dust which the wind casts

5 propterea non resurgent impii in iudicio neque peccatores in congregatione iustorum 5 therefore the wicked will not rise in judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous

6 quoniam novit Dominus viam iustorum et iter impiorum peribit. 6 because the Lord knows the way of the righteous and the way of the wicked will perish.
