invitada muy especial. Monika, buenos días, preséntate.

¡Hola chicos! Buenas, Miguel. Muchas gracias por invitarme a este podcast. La verdad me alegra mucho

poder conversar contigo y, de verdad, conocerte como... en vivo, porque siempre hemos hablado por

Instagram. Yo soy Monika. Bueno, me conocen también como Yellow Mariposa. Ese es como mi apodo y

también el nombre que utilizo en mis redes y con ese me identifico en cuanto a mi empresa y mis

actividades y soy profesora de español. Me encanta el español latino. Me encanta Colombia. Colombia

me hizo enamorarme del español, de hecho, y pues me enfoco mucho en Colombia y otros países

latinoamericanos en mis clases y tampoco sé hablar como una española.

No hace falta.

Y bueno, al final, bueno, lo que me gusta hacer con mis alumnos también es trabajar en la comunicación

natural, porque a veces aprendemos demasiado con las cosas de los libros, repetimos frases secas y

eso, bueno, no hace falta cuando nos comunicamos, ¿cierto?

Claro, eso es. Realmente, es que, tú eres polaca, entonces, claro, hablas español increíble. Yo creo que

casi nadie se daría cuenta de que no eres nativa. Pero bueno, eso realmente te da una ventaja que los

nativos no tenemos, porque a mi me han enseñado español la tele, mis padres, mis profesores hablando,

mis amigos en el parque...

Eso es.

Solo ha sido ese input. Y luego todo lo que sé de gramática lo he tenido que aprender. Pero tú has

podido elegir a la vez el input pasivo, por así decirlo, real, y el input de más gramática y de todo lo que

debes aprender sobre un idioma cuando no lo sabes. Entonces eso es una ventaja.

Es una ventaja porque sí, ya sé como enseñar la gramática, porque yo la aprendí por mi cuenta, pero te

voy a hacer como una pequeña comparación, porque hay personas que, por ejemplo, me piden que las

enseñe polaco y les digo que no, porque yo cuando veo a las personas, a los nativos en Polonia, a los

nativos de otros países, en Polonia, queriendo aprender polaco, veo sus libros de polaco, las reglas de

gramática... Te juro que yo no sé que está pasando, me pierdo totalmente, Miguel. De verdad. Entonces

me siento... Bueno, es una paradoja porque me siento mucho más cómoda con el idioma español en

cuanto a las a las reglas. Eso es verdad.

Sí, totalmente. A mí me pasaba cuando vivía en República Checa... Me fui ahí con 21 años, entonces me

contrataron en un cole y empecé a dar inglés, que era lo que yo estudié, yo soy profesor de inglés,

técnicamente, y me dijeron "ah, pues puedes dar español porque eres español" y yo... No puedo dar

español, no tengo ni idea. O sea, sé usarlo todo perfectamente, pero no sé por qué. La segunda vez que

te preguntan "por qué esto es así", ya no... Te quedas ahí.

Pues mira, un aplauso, porque de verdad hay personas que dirán mira, soy español, yo puedo enseñar

español. Pero eso no tiene nada... Bueno, tiene que ver obviamente, pero no tiene muchísimo que ver,

¿cierto?.

Sí. Una cosa es hablar español y otra cosa es enseñar español, y para enseñar español no hace falta

hablarlo perfectamente y para hablarlo perfectamente no hace falta tampoco ser, haber estudiado

filología ni nada. O sea, no es... Quiero decir, no son excluyentes.

Eso es. ¿Y cómo tú dominaste las reglas en español, las reglas gramaticales?

Pues siempre me había gustado mucho la lengua. Es algo que me apasiona desde desde niño, pero

sobre todo fue en el máster. En el máster de español y dando clase, porque al final te encuentras los

obstáculos una y otra vez en alumnos diferentes y dices vale, esto les cuesta. Por lo tanto, esto es lo que

tengo que estudiar. El subjuntivo. Nunca me lo había planteado. ¿Por qué es así? ¿por qué es así en

este caso y en este no?, pues voy a investigar. Y como yo no tengo problema en echarle mil horas a

cualquier tarea, pues, al final... he leído mucho y aquí estoy.

Sí, pero es muy verdad que el profesor aprende también enseñando, ¿cierto?

Muchísimo.

Porque... Tú, bueno, tú crees o yo creo que mi explicación es válida y lo va a entender, la va entender

todo el mundo. Pero al final, tú la dices y los alumnos son como: ¿eh? De qué tú me estás hablando.

¿No? Entonces tengo que revisar la forma de explicar también. Y de pronto darme cuenta de que tengo

que aprender más de un tema, ¿no?

Totalmente. Y hay una cosa que me parece muy interesante de cómo hablas tú. Y es que en general, en

Europa aprendemos español de España. Enseñamos español de España. Pero tú hablas español de

Colombia. Sé que has vivido allí, pero ¿cuánto del español que sabes es influencia de el español que

has aprendido en el colegio, en el instituto, y cuánto es influencia de haber vivido en Colombia?

Pues mis primeras palabras en español yo las dije precisamente en Colombia. Entonces yo no tuve

ningún, ningún... No había tenido ningún contacto con el español antes de viajar. Entonces, bueno,

primero viajé a Colombia. Aprendí, pero muy...

¿Cuándo y sabiendo cuánto español? Por curiosidad.

Eso fue en 2015 cuando viajé por primera vez para para hacer un voluntariado enseñando inglés. Bueno,

asistiendo en las clases de inglés, que no tenía experiencia en la enseñanza todavía. Y bueno, me tocó

aprender. Yo sinceramente, antes de viajar a Colombia yo no había tenido ningún interés en el idioma

español. Entonces lo que me tocó en Colombia fue pura necesidad y fue un poco extraño porque yo

experimenté algo que se llama inmersión total, porque no había muchas personas que hablaban inglés ni

polaco, obviamente.

Me lo creo.

Y bueno, yo pasé muchos días haciéndome ridícula porque vine con "Hola", prácticamente, a Colombia y

así cada día, escuchando, intentando decir algo, pues me entraban como más ganas de aprender y de

escuchar. Fue una como una bola de nieve prácticamente. Y nada. Y gracias a esto, después de un mes

ya pude comunicarme bien, pero fue mucho trabajo intelectual y trabajo mental. Yo después de un día

me iba a dormir porque me dolía la cabeza por tanta información que... ¿sabes? Que me venía de los

hispanohablantes. Pero bueno, te quiero decir que fue interesante porque por ejemplo, yo de Polonia sé

un poco de la letra de la Camisa Negra de Juana, ¿no? Todo el mundo lo conoce y todos cantamos la

Camisa Negra, pero nadie sabe qué significa, ¿no? Y después voy a Colombia y sé que bueno, la

camisa negra es la camisa y que es negra. Y de pronto un tipo me dice que tiene una camisa roja.

Entonces yo pienso "Ajá. Entonces roja debe ser este color porque no es negra".

Sí.

Y así, poco a poco. Pero te juro que fue... que fue difícil, ¿no?

Sí, sí, ya me imagino. Y muy natural, ¿no?. Por lo que cuentas, muy... Un método muy natural.

Demasiado, demasiado. Y, ¿sabes qué? También te voy a decir algo, que cuando regresé a Polonia y

escuché cómo hablan ustedes en España, me sorprendí mucho. Es porque es bastante diferente la

melodía la acentuación...

Nada que ver.

Sí, Entonces fue una sorpresa.

Ya me imagino. Sí, sí, esto... Pues a mí me parece muy interesante eso, porque cuando yo fui a

República Checa... Claro, por supuesto, la gente, algunos hablaban inglés y yo sólo me juntaba con los

que hablaban inglés, pero algo de checo se me quedó de eso, de estar en... De ir a sitios y de socializar

todo lo que podía, pero... Pero claro, imagínate si no hubiera podido hablar inglés. Coño, pues ahora

mismo hablaría checo bastante mejor de lo que lo hablo. Es una cosa que aparte de que se tienen que

dar las circunstancias y tal, es... O sea, hay que poner mucho de tu parte porque es un sacrificio muy

grande y sobre todo al principio, es un esfuerzo enorme.

Pues a mí me salió simplemente bueno, me salió fácil porque no tenía de otra.

Sí, claro, sí, te salió... Bueno, no te salió. Se te impuso.

Sí, bueno.

No había escapatoria.

Sí, exactamente. Y bueno. Y ahora, bueno, en el ámbito de profesores y todo eso, se habla mucho de

hacer una inmersión total de tu alumno. Pero al final, bueno, es posible, un 30% o un 40%, porque

siempre nuestro cerebro va a querer elegir algo más agradable, más fácil. Sí, algo que conoces.

Y después de tu primera visita a Colombia en 2015. ¿Cuánto tardaste en hablar ya bien? Volviste

después, ¿no?

Sí, después de tres meses.

Genial.

Porque, bueno, yo regresé, creo que por primera vez desde hace voluntariado. Como... Eso fue en

septiembre. Después en febrero ya estuve otra vez en Colombia para los carnavales. Y esa vez me

enamoré de la cultura porque... El Carnaval de Barranquilla, yo ni quiero empezar a hablar de eso, pero

porque podríamos hacer otro podcast.

Para otro podcast.

Pero es una mezcla de culturas interesante y también me involucraron en una comparsa para bailar y

bueno, entonces lo sentí no solamente con mi cabeza, con mis, con mi oído, pero también con todo el

cuerpo. Es que fue una emoción, una tremenda emoción. Y después regresé a Polonia porque yo en

aquel momento era abogada y no pensaba en enseñar español a nadie. Y bueno, después hice mis

prácticas en una oficina de abogados, pero ya sentía que algo me faltaba y lo que me faltaba era

Colombia. Entonces pues empecé a buscar otro tipo de trabajo, unas prácticas en Colombia y después

de ocho meses los encontré y empecé a trabajar en Bogotá. Así fue más o menos el camino. Y en

Bogotá me metieron, o sea, mi empresa... Bueno, sabía que mi español fue como intermedio, ¿no? Pero

me metieron en muchos cursos de mercadeo, de marketing, de ventas... En español. Entonces yo toda...

perdona la expresión, cagada de miedo, tenía que presentar mi empresa, ir a las ferias comercial, hablar

con los clientes por teléfono también. Puro miedo, puro susto, todo eso y así, bueno, creo que en ese

momento... Ese fue el momento clave donde yo cogí mucha fluidez porque tuve, otra vez, tuve que

hacerlo y así me quedé como bastantes meses en Colombia, trabajando en Bogotá y después me mudé

a Barranquilla para también vivir unos meses allá. Y así es en la historia de mi español.

No, excelente. Y ¿cuántos meses has vivido en Colombia en total?

En total será como un año.

Ojo, eh. Está muy bien que en un año, o sea, que en 12 meses, el cómputo total sea 12 meses y hables

así, es una pasada. Es brutal.

Eh... Sí, sí, pero bueno. Para que... Para no desmotivar a los oyentes, ¿no? Eso es posible, pero sin

contacto con otros idiomas. Bueno, muchas veces con necesidad, uno aprende rápido, o con muchísimo,

muchísimo trabajo para no dar la impresión a nadie de que sea fácil o rápido.

Sí, sí. No es que no es que te vayas a mudar a España, a Colombia, a donde sea. Y de repente, en un

año vayas a hablar como tú. Ojalá.

Pero, me refiero, que por arte de magia no es. Que suena fácil después de decirlo, ¿no? A toro pasado

todo es fácil, pero eso fue, imagino, duro.

Sí, por eso me caen mal, como los títulos de cursos tipo "Aprende el español en tres meses o en dos

meses".
