Advanced Spanish Podcast, E1 Educadores digitales con Elena de Linguriosa

Episodio 1: Educadores digitales con Elena de Linguriosa

Hola, estudiante.

Me dice...

Bueno, no pasa nada

¿A qué estás jugando?

Pues escenas, ¿no? No sé si te he respondido. Evidentemente, ¿no? Bueno, a ver... No sé. Vale Quieres escuchar... Sí, sí. Muy cerca del micrófono y comiendo cosas. Exacto. Comiendo Mágnum. Pues vas a Twitch. ¿Veinte millones? Casi, casi, he hecho mis deberes. Tienes casi 19 millones y pico. ¿No lo sabías? Pero esto... Desde... ¿En cuánto tiempo? Ah, ¿en total? En total. En total. Ah, vale, vale, vale, vale. No podía. No, no me compensa." Así que lo he quitado. Perdón, pero te he cortado. No, no, no. Los vídeos. Normalmente no... Ya, pero. Te van a decir: ¡Qué pena! Me has decepcionado. Has perdido un suscriptor. Exacto. ¡Guau!, me encanta. Me encanta. Sí, sí, sí. Bueno estabas hablando de... Tu novio viene la Edu-con, ¿entonces? No, no puede. Trabaja, trabaja. No, no.... Tickets de... Estoy utilizando el anglicismo. Los billetes de avión. Vale, vale. Red Flag. Sí, sí, claro, es que ¿Qué dices? No, yo soy divulgadora lingüística... (en youTube) y claro la gente... Pero, ¿tienes nómina o no tienes nómina? Claro, claro. Pues, "spoiler": Mi padre no habla inglés. Vale. No vale Andorra. Igualmente. Muchas gracias. Un abrazo. Un abrazo grande. Muchas gracias, Elena, y gracias a ti por escuchar nuestra charla. Episodio 1: Educadores digitales con Elena de Linguriosa Episode 1: Digital Educators with Elena from Linguriosa

Hola, estudiante. Hi student. I welcome you to the first episode of Spanish Language Coach's advanced level Spanish podcast. Recuerda suscribirte para no perderte ningún episodio. Remember to subscribe so you don't miss any episode.

If this is your first time hearing my voice, let me briefly introduce myself. My name is César, I am a Spanish teacher from Spain, although I have lived in London for years.

In 2019 I decided to create a Spanish podcast for intermediate level students called Intermediate Spanish Podcast, as you can see I am not very original with the names. The objective was not only for students to be able to listen to Spanish and improve their understanding, but also to do so with topics that seemed important and interesting to them. That they could learn new things, or rather, that we could learn, because I learn a lot too.

Three years later I have decided to start this new adventure for advanced level students with great enthusiasm. There will be a new episode every two weeks, on Wednesdays. I mean, it's a bi-monthly podcast at the moment.

This podcast is really like a podcast for native speakers. That is, I will not adapt the content, nor reduce the speed at which we speak, nor explain complicated words when we use them. Es español 100% real. It is 100% real Spanish. In each episode I will have a chat with someone different and we will talk about current, entertaining and interesting topics.

What is the difference then between listening to a podcast for native speakers and this podcast for advanced students?

Look, I consider myself to be an advanced English speaker. I have no problem listening to all kinds of podcasts in English, but it is true that sometimes I don't understand a word or expression, I can't understand the meaning in context and I always end up going to the dictionary on my phone to find out.

It is for this reason that before listening to the podcast I recommend you read the vocabulary list that I have prepared. There are about twenty words and expressions that I suspect you will not know. In the list I explain what they mean and give you an example in context.

Then you can listen to the episode and you will hear all these words again in a different context. When you listen to the episode you can help yourself from the free transcript. I wasn't sure if I wanted to offer the transcript for this podcast, because it's actually quite expensive to do, but I know a lot of students use it and work with it in different ways, so I hope it's helpful.

Finally, after listening to the episode you can also use the vocabulary flashcards to retain the new vocabulary.

The objective of this new podcast is for you to get used to listening to real conversations in Spanish and also to have all the resources available to make it easier to learn as much as possible.

All these free resources can be found at www.spanishlanguagecoach.com

I hope you can enjoy it and learn a lot!

Now I will leave you with the talk that Elena and I had about digital educators:

The last time I was in Valencia I sat on the sofa and put YouTube on the television. I wanted to catch up with the videos on my favorite language outreach channel: Linguriosa, a channel created by Elena. On the other sofa was my 17-year-old sister Maria. The truth is that the video she was watching about why German is the sexiest language in the world was of little interest to her. My sister was on her cell phone, watching tiktoks. However, after a few seconds I noticed how he looked up from the screen of his mobile and began to watch Elena's video carefully. After a while he asked me: "And who is this?" I told her, to be cool, that I was a Spanish teacher who was hitting it on YouTube with her videos and that I also knew her. When the video ended, my sister, with the expert opinion that being 17 years old and having watched YouTube content all your life gives you, declared: "the truth is that this girl does it very well."

I am lucky that this girl who does very well on YouTube is the first guest on the podcast. Elena Hola, buenas tardes. Elena Hello, good afternoon.

Hola, buenas tardes. Hello, good afternoon. Soy superfán de tu hermana, eh. I'm a super fan of your sister, huh.

No, no. Nerd. Ella es súper fan de ti. She is a super fan of you.

¿Cómo se llama tu hermana? What's your sister's name?

María. Maria.

María. Maria. Un beso. A kiss. Muchas gracias. Thank you very much. At first I was feeling a little bad, okay? I have to say it, but as the story has progressed it has won me over.

Well, I wanted to tell this story because I think it represents very well what your channel does and what other dissemination channels do, in your case linguistics because when the content is good and it is also presented in an entertaining way, right? That now we will talk about this, about edu entertainment, because you can attract the attention of the whole world and everyone can learn from what you are telling them, right?

Sí, bueno, espero que sí. Yes, well, I hope so. Of course, that's the goal, to tell it in a slightly entertaining way. It is true that many times the majority of comments I receive are: "Ah! Well, it's been fun, but I haven't heard anything."

¿De verdad? Really? In other words, it is still complex for many people.

Yeah, but I think, actually I'm doing it on purpose, okay? Because that's how they have to see it two or three more times. Es todo un plan... It's all a plan...

Y tienes más visualizaciones. And you have more views. ¿Cómo definirías, Elena, tu canal en YouTube: Linguriosa? How would you define, Elena, your YouTube channel: Linguriosa? Linguriosa?

Let's see, it's a dramatic channel because my goal is to make it as dramatic as possible. Me dice... He tells me... The other day, someone commented on me and said: "Why do you record yourself cutting half your forehead? Il me dit... That is done in cinema to convey drama. And I said "Excuse me, sir, that's what I want to convey."

Ese es el objetivo. That is the goal.

Ese es el objetivo. That is the goal. And the music I use is suspenseful, because I want people to be, "What's going on? Why is it causing me this anxiety not knowing why we say the word X?

So you play with FOMO, right? Quindi stai giocando con la FOMO, vero? Quieres que tengan FOMO, miedo a perdérselo. You want them to have FOMO, fear of missing out.

Is FOMO also said like this in Spanish?

Yo lo he escuchado, sí. I have heard it, yes.

Pensaba que se usaba solo en inglés. I thought it was used only in English.

Es un anglicismo que ya hemos incorporado. It is an anglicism that we have already incorporated. Ahí, tienes un vídeo sobre eso también. There, you have a video about that too.

Tengo, sí, sí, tengo. I have, yes, yes, I have.

¿Qué piensas tú de los anglicismos, César? Was halten Sie von Anglizismen, César? What do you think of anglicisms, César?

Well, at the beginning I was much more... Much more pedantic and I didn't like them at all, especially when I worked in marketing, when everyone says pass me the budget, the target. Also, we usually mispronounced it and said target and things like that. And I say: "but let's see, if we have words that we have used all our lives, why not use them in Spanish?" But now I'm a little more open-minded.

I thought you were going to say that they told you to pass me the “pencil”. Eso ya me parece excesivo. That seems excessive to me.

Up to that point no, but things like "I have a call." Lo de una call... Über eine Straße... About a street...

¡Pero que se dice muchísimo! But what is said a lot! I thought it was a joke, you know, that people said: "Uy, those people who say how I have a call." Es que se dice así. It is said like that. Me parece un poquito excesivo, pero oye... It seems a bit excessive to me, but hey...

It is more efficient just one syllable instead of three.

If it is used in that environment and is more efficient or for whatever reason, it seems wonderful to me.

In the end, as you speak on your channel, right? Language is constantly changing and it is like that. And this phrase with which you start all the videos saying: "Hello, good afternoon" Why? ¿Cuál es la historia de esta frase? What is the history of this phrase? Because it has always intrigued me a little.

Let's see, well, look, once I was with a friend and she said: "You know I find it very funny when they call you on the phone to sell you something and they always say: "Hello. Buenas tardes, puedo hablar con la señora?" Good afternoon, can I speak with the lady?" Siempre es ese tono. It's always that tone. And it makes me so funny that it's always that tone that I said: "Well, I'm always going to make the videos like this". And except for some that I think I've always forgotten to say hello directly, because when I write the script thank goodness I realize sometimes that I say: "Oysters, I forgot to say hello, good afternoon! And maybe I'll record it at the end or on another video track and say: "Please - I tell my editor - please, put it between this sentence and this one, because I've forgotten and it's very important.

Yes, yes, of course, it's a sign of identity, right?

And not only, not only that phrase, but also, well, the dramatic music. Also, sometimes when I watch videos on YouTube, as I also do YouTube from time to time, I look at things a lot and I think there are like 25 different songs in this video, 25 different melodies.

It takes me about eight hours to put the music for the videos.

¡Madre mía! Oh mein Gott! My goodness!

Increíble...

Porque es eso. Why is that. It's just that there are about 30 different songs in each video, because I want each thing that I'm saying if I want you to be as intrigued as possible, then transmit it to you with the music, if now I'm giving you the solution to something, Oh... relax. .. Yes... Many times Dorotea always has the same music, which is music of confusion, like... You know, it doesn't have a fixed rhythm and it has a name, I heard this once with Jaime Altozano. When a character has a music associated with it, I don't remember right now what it's called, it's an anglicism, but... I'm losing it because it would have been super cool if I told you now what the ending is.

Bueno, no pasa nada Well, nothing happens

Lo siento. I am sorry.

Mira, has mencionado a Jaime Altozano, que es otro ejemplo. Look, you mentioned Jaime Altozano, who is another example. I like music, but I don't like the more technical part of music. In fact, when I studied music at school I was quite bored. And yet, this creator, Jaime Altozano, whom I follow and watch all his videos, I love. I love watching the videos because I learn a lot of things that I find very interesting, but that I never would have thought were interesting or that I would like to learn now.

Es verdad. Es verdad

Pero, por ejemplo...

Que es la magia. What is magic?

... El vídeo de Rosalía. ...

Well, well, it's because I became a fan of Rosalía, with that video.

Claro, claro. Ahora han hecho un vídeo juntos, ¿no? Now they've made a video together, right? Bueno, una entrevista. Well, an interview.

Ese, ese digo, sí, sí. That, that I say, yes, yes. Ah, well, you're talking about the series he made from the previous album.

Of course, he analyzed, he analyzed the bad will, the first album, the second album by Rosalía, I think.

Una obra de arte, A work of art,

Sí. Yes.

But the new one that you said: "Well, what happened, Rosalía? ¿A qué estás jugando? What are you playing? Er spielt sehr gut.“ You see this video and you say: "Oysters! Well, he's playing very well."

And in fact Rosalía has been very intelligent. And then we will talk more about digital educators and digital creators, because a large part of their promotion has been done on networks, the entire album has been presented on Tik Tok, they have done a lot of interviews with youtubers, with instagramers, it's called Influencers, Tiktokers and all this. Sí, sí, sí, sí, sí.

¡Guau! And why don't you invite her to the podcast?

I don't know, I have to think about it. Tengo que mirar la agenda. I have to look at the agenda. Tú eras la prioridad, Elena. Du hattest Priorität, Elena. You were the priority, Elena. You mentioned Dorotea, who is like your alter ego. Es un personaje interpretado por ti también. It's a character played by you too.

How did the idea come about and what is Dorotea's role in your videos?

Let's see, in my first videos I made content to learn Spanish as a foreign language, so I liked that the examples were representations. Pues escenas, ¿no? Well, scenes, right? If I was explaining the subjunctive in adjective subordinate phrases, then instead of giving an example and the phrase appearing on the screen, then represent it. So one of the characters in a performance, which I can't remember now, was called Dorotea; another was called something else, I don't remember. The fact is that a girl left me a comment and I hadn't done performances for a long time because in the end they have a lot of work. You have to go out on the street, you have to shoot on the street. No sé si te he respondido. Evidentemente, ¿no? Bueno, a ver... No sé. Vale Quieres escuchar... Sí, sí. Muy cerca del micrófono y comiendo cosas. Exacto. Comiendo Mágnum. Pues vas a Twitch. ¿Veinte millones? Casi, casi, he hecho mis deberes. Tienes casi 19 millones y pico. ¿No lo sabías? Pero esto... Desde... ¿En cuánto tiempo? Ah, ¿en total? En total. En total. Ah, vale, vale, vale, vale. No podía. No, no me compensa." Así que lo he quitado. Perdón, pero te he cortado. No, no, no. Los vídeos. Normalmente no... Ya, pero. Te van a decir: ¡Qué pena! Me has decepcionado. Has perdido un suscriptor. Exacto. ¡Guau!, me encanta. Me encanta. Sí, sí, sí. Bueno estabas hablando de... Tu novio viene la Edu-con, ¿entonces? No, no puede. Trabaja, trabaja. No, no.... Tickets de... Estoy utilizando el anglicismo. Los billetes de avión. Vale, vale. Red Flag. Sí, sí, claro, es que ¿Qué dices? No, yo soy divulgadora lingüística... (en youTube) y claro la gente... Pero, ¿tienes nómina o no tienes nómina? Claro, claro. Pues, "spoiler": Mi padre no habla inglés. Vale. No vale Andorra. In Charakter kommen. In Charakter kommen. Bereits. Was ist los? Also, Puh, meine Güte, worauf ich hereingefallen bin. Lass mich in Ruhe!" meine Güte Sehr selten. Vornehm, was für uns heute vornehm wäre. Ah, stimmt, stimmt. Exzellent! Ich liebe es. Ja ja ja. Nun, du hast darüber gesprochen... Dein Freund kommt also zu Edu-con? Nein, das kannst du nicht. Arbeit Arbeit. . Und Geld verdienen.“ Vollständig. Es ist mir ein bisschen peinlich, wenn sie mich fragen, was du machst, und ich sage: Was sage ich? Weil youtuber sagen: "uf". Ja, ja, natürlich, was sagst du? So. OK. Es ist Andorra nicht wert. Nun, dann ist uns die Hälfte ausgegangen. Also. Get into character. Get into character. Well, I mean, they are such round characters that in the end it's very complicated, you have to be there days before... Well, come on! The fact is that he said to me: "I miss the videos in which Dorotea appeared" and I said: "come on, I'm going to take Dorotea" and I started to make her a recurring character and when I changed the theme of the videos and I made them more like Spanish curiosities, since Dorotea was already a character. What happens is that Dorotea has been creating little by little Of course Because Dorotea was not, she was not vegan, you know? The vegan was me and Dorotea made fun of me and now it turns out that she is the one with the carrots. There are many gaps in his story. Well, you create the narrative you want to create, which is yours for that. What I feel like... No, but it's very interesting and in the end it's that, edutainment. Do you think that education can be learned using entertainment and what is the best way to do it? And above all, how should people who create content not do it? Let's see, I don't think it's the way to do it in the sense that to study many times you don't need them to give you everything chewed up, that they give you everything easily and simply... No. I mean, I I think that people who really want to study something, as long as they explain it well, it doesn't have to be entertaining, it has to be well explained. Spot. The problem with YouTube is that you want people to see you, because if people don't see you, then you don't make money. Doesn't make much sense, does it? So there are already those who are dedicated to education on social networks, not only on YouTube, well they have to find a way for people who are not there to learn because the majority are there to be entertained, to see you anyway. So I think that it is the way in which digital educators are managing to survive and transmit and do what we like. I don't know if I have answered you. Yes Yes Yes. And how do you see, for example, this new trend for a year or more, all the platforms, I'm talking about YouTube, Instagram, TikTok... They advocate, they promote very short content and for me, it's a personal opinion, for me I find it very difficult to create valuable content that really has a function and that the student learns something with such short content. Well, because I also think that people tend to spoil the habit and show that you can learn with a 30-second video where he explained, I don't know, five synonyms of a word or something like that. So for me as a language student, that type of content is very unhelpful and... But nevertheless, I know that it is the best type of content for other people to get to know you. To grow your audience. So it's a bit complicated. Already. And it also seems very curious to me, because it is true that these types of videos are working, the shorts or the real ones or the Tik Tok, but then Twitch, which is the opposite, is also working very well. So it seems to me that people say: "no, it's that now the consumer wants you to tell them things quickly, easily and that's it" and they don't have..., so they won't withhold anything. Obviously, right? Sure, it's much more complicated. Very little. That's it. You are going to have to watch that video 20 times to be able to keep some information, I think. And then you are not seeing that. When you do live shows where there are a lot of silences where there is really little content, but Twitch is totally booming. Twitch, for those who don't know, explain it better, because I'm a bit of a grandfather with this. Well, let's see... How much? Is it called a twitch session? Is it called... I just don't know. I don't know the vocabulary of Twitch. A direct, a direct, I would say a direct. Ah, a direct one. I am quite a grandmother, I tell you that too. I've been in there, but I'm like Mr. Burns in the beanie, okay? I don't know. Twitch as far as I know, because it is the cradle of ASMR. Okay Do you want to hear... Yes, yes. Very close to the microphone and eating things. Exact. Eating Magnum. Well, you go to Twitch. But people also play video games. They are used... Well, on Twitch there is Ibai. For those of you who don't know it, it is one of the largest in Spain. And well, the one who has mounted it the best, I think. And going back Elena a bit to your YouTube channel, Linguriosa, which obviously, like all channels, started little by little, started talking about grammar, right? It was more oriented to Spanish students and now it is more oriented to curious people who want to learn about Spanish. It has grown a lot. You have almost 20 million views. Twenty millions? I've almost, almost, done my homework. You have almost 19 million and a bit. You did not know? But this... Since... How long? Oh, in total? Total. Total. Ah, ok, ok, ok, ok. What did you think a video with 20 million was? No, in the last month or so. I say to me that seems barbaric. No no no no. I wanted to ask you with a channel of these characteristics quite large, that each video of yours has many comments, many views of people from all over the world. And that also means that not all the comments, not all the feedback you receive is positive, I imagine that most of them are, but has your YouTube channel ever made you lose sleep? Yes, at first. Because of course, for me it was overnight, more or less. With a video I started to have and also it is that no, it was not a very good video, (okay? I have to say it). It was a video, because the typical thing that you explain in a Spanish class is that the objective is for them to know a little about other varieties of Spanish, but you don't know that variety either. So you're saying four characteristics, misspelled, very general. So, since no one saw me, I did the same, as if I were giving a class. What's happening? That it went viral for me and people of that variety saw me. So, poof, my goodness, what I fell for. They do not like it. All the time... They didn't like it, they didn't like it. "But what do you say if you don't know anything?" And it's true, that video was very, very generalist. So, it sucked your energy. I remember that I had to lie down on the bed. Could not. It was a feeling that I had never had. That said: "No, I have to take a while. Leave me alone!" my goodness Very rare. I perfectly understand. It happened to me with a video on YouTube that I am very small, but a video of himself I think. Yes, very similar and I think it had to for me... That's how we met. Oh, well, possibly, yes. I just remembered. Yes, yes, yes... Commenting... You're not going to tell me the name of the video, are you? No, no, it's not on my channel anymore because I removed it from my channel, I removed it from my channel because I think that video has about 500 comments and 25,000 views. But I said I don't want to continue every week reading a horrible comment, about all the bad things I've done in this video and all the wrong things I've said and how colonizing I am and these things, I say: "Look, step by step. No It doesn't make up for me." So I have removed it. Sorry, but I cut you off. You were saying that more or less the same thing happened to you with that video. You were also affected by the comments. Sure, yes, at first a little yes. And I said above all because I'm not used to it. With the podcast, the good and the good and the bad of the podcast is that you never make an episode go viral, on YouTube like you did, right? You can grow when several videos go viral, growth is more exponential. So I wasn't used to receiving so many negative reviews, so that's why I wanted to ask you about the dream, because I imagined that yes, sometimes it's hard not to manage the "hate", the hatred in networks. Well, I think that at first that shock was that no, you don't know what to do, it has never happened to you, you don't expect it either. I think that over time, it is true that one bad comment always weighs more than 100 good ones. That's how it is. Yes Unfortunately it is like that, but you manage it much better, of course. There comes a point where you say: "Look, now you're not going to catch me anymore because this video has its work, it has its review, it has... You can tell me that you don't like it because you think it's not right or because of whatever, but..." But it is objective, it is objective. That's... I don't know, there's everything. As far as you can be objective, but it's well documented, it's not... It's not based solely on personal opinion. Oh, you mean the video? I thought the comment. No no no. The videos. It is objective, except for example, the last one I have uploaded on inclusive language, which is another video on sociolinguistics and not so much on linguistics. I give my opinion there. That is much more subjective, of course. It's the first one I've done with this level of subjectivity, but I'm also glad because I generally never give my opinion in the videos. I never generally, okay, I remove the never because sometimes I do. But... Yes, and that video is great because you actually give your opinion, but I don't think it's a video with which the video on inclusive language that nobody can be offended with. You are not, you are not telling the people who are listening to you that you have to use it, you are simply talking about... You give examples, right? About how the language has changed in the past and I don't know, it seemed to me very... It's a very good resource. Every time someone tells me that inclusive language is ridiculous, to pass it on to them and to have another perspective, to see that it is not something, that it is not something new, that I think that the suffix -ísimo was something that posh people used in the past or something. Exactly, yes, it was also something created, let's say. No, and that caught my attention. They say that we are creating inclusive language and it is not a natural change. And the language are all natural changes, of course. Well no, obviously not. There have been a lot of changes that have been forced, shall we say. To put it in some way, -ísimo did not exist and was imposed, let's say, by this minority group of posh. Posh, what for us would be posh today. But, but yes, and it doesn't matter, that is, what you just said, that you will send it to people who may have another opinion: they don't care. Because when they go with their opinion so strong. Normally not... Yeah, but. They will tell you: What a pity! You have disappointed me. You have lost a subscriber. I've had this a lot. I have lost 650 subscribers with this latest video. Yes, you also mentioned it. And that's also a problem, because in the end I don't know if you start to think about the content, because in the end YouTube is part... it's part of your income. It's a full-time job and I think you shouldn't be afraid to express an opinion as long as it's respectful or elaborate, or you have a job behind it. But hey, there is everything in the vineyard of the Lord. And speaking of digital educators, people who create content on the Internet have associated or joined with Miss A, who is a Canadian teacher living in Spain, to create the Association of Digital Educators of Spain. Yes. Tell us a bit about this. What is the main objective of this association? Well, the main objective is to spread digital education in networks, not only on YouTube, but on all social networks. So how are we going to do it? One weekend, the first weekend of October in Valencia, where César and I are finally going to meet in person, because César is also coming. Besides, it's my city. Of course, it is above. It is that it is very important is that he is also going to leave us his house so that we can stay and sleep there. I'll talk to my mother and my sister. I have already earned your sister. Exact. Maria! Does Maria listen to your podcast? No. Do you know that nobody listens to my podcast? Well no one is much.... My boyfriend never listens to my podcast. My sister never listens to my podcast. My mother yes. My mom is number one fan. But my best friends don't listen to my pod... And I get it, it's okay. My boyfriend tells me "but if I already have you 24/7 why do I want to listen to what you're saying". Hey, but is your boyfriend Spanish? No, he is British, he is English. But speaks Spanish? He speaks Spanish super well. Ah, right, right. I was wondering, do you speak Spanish or English? We speak Spanish one day, English one day. We have been together for six years and alternated languages from the beginning. Wow, I love it. Look how difficult this is, huh? Also, it is true that it helped that we had the same level when we met, that we were both interested in improving our languages. So we said from the beginning: "We are going to do this method and everything on WhatsApp, today is English day, because we only wrote in English from the beginning." In the morning we already changed the chip, we argue, yes, when we argue, we argue little, but when we argue it's super curious, because I speak in Spanish and he in English. And if we argue in the street or in a place where people can hear us, they will think what a strange conversation. In the languages. Excellent! I'm lovin 'it. Yes Yes Yes. Well you were talking about... Your boyfriend is coming to Edu-con, then? No, you can't. Work work. Although, well, it's the weekend. Is it the weekend or is it Friday and Saturday? Saturday and Sunday? Okay, well, I already have my tickets, my plane tickets, but... I was going to tell you if the Congress is free, César. What tickets have you bought? Have you been scammed? No, no.... Tickets of... I'm using the anglicism. Airline tickets. OK OK. Airline tickets. Do you think, Elena, that there is still not enough recognition from society in general towards digital educators? Do they see them as a bit: "Look at this, this youtuber, this one stands there. The camera says four things and... And earn money." Totally. I am a little embarrassed when they ask me what you do and I say: What do I say? Because youtuber, is that they say: "uf". Now, for example, that he was looking for a flat. red flag. Yes, yes, of course, what do you say? No, I am a linguistic popularizer... (on YouTube) and of course people... But, do you have a payroll or don't you have a payroll? Of course, of course. It's just... It's horrible, really. Yes, but that is the goal of Congress. In the end, to encourage, to show people that many people think that on YouTube you only do things, still play video games or do entertainment, that there are a lot of things that right now if you feel like studying anything, you can do it on your own on YouTube. And you can do it super-efficiently, after all. Then. How are we going to do that? There is a day that will be more dedicated to content creators. We want more and more people to dedicate themselves to educating on YouTube or other social networks. platforms. I say YouTube, because it is what affects me. Sure, platforms. But... In the end we want to promote everything, education, wherever. In the end, it's the most important thing and that's why one day will be dedicated to this, with talks, round tables with creators who are already consolidated and another day for their own... I don't know what I told you about a day for creators or one day for the public. A day for the creators. Ok, I told you creators, but I was referring to the general public. I publish who want to meet their creators, who want to become a creator, who want to become a digital educator. And another day for the creators, that is, you are already a creator and I would like to know how to manage the "hate", as we have spoken before, because there is a round table with creators who are dedicated to the best of scientific dissemination, where you can there will be much more "hate". They tell you about their experience, how to manage it, how... And then the other way in which we are going to promote this and encourage people who are already dedicating themselves to continue doing it or that there are new ones is with the EDE awards, awards for the best digital educator from Spain, that education is very important for everything, for life in general. So, well, we want to reward all these people who earn, because they are charged much less if you do education than if you do other types of content. Lifestyle or video games. That, let's see, there is nothing wrong with creating lifestyle content or being an influencer, because in the end if you provide entertaining content in the same way that we watch a television program, which is entertainment. But it is true that the content of an educational nature seems to have less weight or to be less important. I was recently at the Pódcast Show, which is an event for podcasters and most of the talks were organized or the people who spoke were people who had entertainment podcasts, true crime podcasts, news podcasts, but there were no industry podcasts. education and I lacked and in fact, I want to send you that feedback that next year you can include talks of this type. I find it relevant and you can also learn a lot through the podcast. And I wanted to tell you two things: The first is regarding recognition, I think so, that in general people who do not consume content on this type of platform may not recognize the work of the people who create content, but I do think that the people who listen to the podcast that I do or in the case of your channel, that I also see many comments thanking you and appreciating the content you create and the time you spend on it. I think it's more people who, since they don't consume it, don't know what it is and think it's a bit of a very superficial thing. Yes, totally. And I have a lot of adult audiences, you know? It seems that only children go. Yes. I have a lot of young audiences that I think are great, but I also have a lot of adult audiences and I'm very happy. And in the end these comments are what keep you going. Because of course, perhaps money is not what motivates you the most, because... Money is only a motivator in the short term, that is very clear to me. In the end, receiving people's comments and seeing that what you are doing is useful and motivating or inspiring is great. And, also, being able to create content on platforms where you can help people learn things they didn't know for free. A little democratize education. Exactly. Because in the end with languages, for example, we who are Spanish teachers, if someone wanted to study Spanish 20, 30 years ago, if you hardly have resources, you can't. He imagined that they studied by buying cassettes and textbooks or things like that. Now, I think that content on platforms like this democratizes and makes access to education much more universal than before, which is also super important. It's that right now I'm remembering a tape that my father had to learn English and that he listened to me like 20 times: "Hello, nice to meet you" Rewind backwards. Well, "spoiler": My father does not speak English. You have to go to YouTube. Or listen to a podcast. And, Elena, for the people listening to us, who are mostly advanced level Spanish students. On the website of the Association of Digital Educators you can probably find educators from different sectors, not that they can teach you a lot of things and you can also nominate. That is what I wanted to say. Yes please nominate. In the end, I encourage you to see the content of all the people that you can already find on the web, who are going to participate in the Congress in some way because since you are at an advanced level, now the cool thing is that you listen, in addition to to César, of course, the real content in Spanish. And if you can learn and are going to learn vocabulary from a lot of sectors, then that's wonderful. And then, well, in the blog section there is a button that says payroll to your creator, or something like that, it puts the word payroll. Yes, tell me. What is the website?
