1. В ( с вопросом «где?», иногда «когда?»)-  in, at (location) Dans (avec la question "où ?", parfois "quand ?") - dans, à (lieu)

В лесу было не так жарко. It was not so hot in the forest. Il ne faisait pas si chaud dans les bois. Não estava tão quente na floresta.

В марте в России всё ещё холодно. In March, Russia is still cold. Il fait encore froid en Russie au mois de mars.

2. НА ( с вопросами «где?», «на чём?») – on, in, at (location) ON (with questions "where?", "On what?") - on, in, at (location) ON (avec les questions "où ?", "à quoi ?") - on, in, at (lieu)

На городском пляже я встретил старых знакомых . On the city beach I met old friends. J'ai rencontré de vieilles connaissances sur la plage de la ville. Na praia da cidade encontrei velhos conhecidos.

На столе лежало много книг. There were a lot of books on the table. Il y avait de nombreux livres sur la table. Havia muitos livros sobre a mesa.

3. О\ОБ\ОБО ( с вопросами «о ком?», «о чём?») – about, concerning A propos de, concernant.

Мы говорили о погоде, о работе и об обстановке на Украине. We talked about the weather, work and the situation in Ukraine. Nous avons parlé du temps, du travail et de la situation en Ukraine. Conversamos sobre o clima, o trabalho e a situação na Ucrânia.

Она спросила меня о моей жене. She asked me about my wife. Elle m'a demandé des nouvelles de ma femme. Ela me perguntou sobre minha esposa.

Я хочу знать обо всём. I want to know about everything. Je veux tout savoir.

4. ПО ( с вопросом «когда», «после чего?»)- after, following Après, après, suivant.

По окончании университета я несколько лет работал в средней школе. After graduating from university, I worked at a high school for several years. Après avoir obtenu mon diplôme universitaire, j'ai travaillé dans un lycée pendant plusieurs années. Depois de me formar na universidade, trabalhei em uma escola por vários anos.

5. ПРИ (с вопросами «когда», «где»)- at the time of, attached to au moment de, attaché à (avec les questions "quand", "où") - au moment de, attaché à

При Сталине жить было не так просто. Under Stalin, life was not so easy. Sous Staline, la vie n'était pas si facile. Sob Stalin, a vida não era tão fácil.
