Aveva la buona donna quest'anno, per Natale, allevati due bei galletti; e mostrandoli al marito, la vigilia, disse:

- Guarda che bei galletti! Se mi dai parola, che di mani non inviterai nessuno a desinar con noi, io stirerò loro il collo, e vedrai come son brava in arte magirica! Avrai un manicaretto da re.

Il bottajo promise; e la moglie tutta contenta.

Venne la dimane, e il bottajo, vestito da festa, salutò la moglie prima d'andare a messa.
