#42 Danilo & Rita – La sanità in Europa e in America

What I do not understand is why the United States, which is a very advanced and civilized country, does not yet have a national health system.

It is a truly shameful thing, perhaps it must be the only civilized country that does not yet have such a system Det er virkelig skammelig, kanskje det må være det eneste siviliserte landet som ennå ikke har et slikt system

Yes, it seems that they are the only ones, in fact, Obama said so. It depends a little on the pioneering spirit of this country that in principle the idea is that everyone has to go it alone, so they do not have pensions, they do not have contributions and consequently they do not even have health care except that for a European this is inconceivable. Unfortunately, and yesterday the news that they have already blocked an important part of the Obama project, this does not say anything good about following the path of the law and it is certainly incredible how there are practically 50 million people in America and do not have health care.

And this is absurd indeed. That a poor man who is dying can not be cured, he can not be especially cured because he does not have the money to pay for the operation, or other things, I do not know, it is inconceivable in a civilized country, here, was in a Third world country I can also understand. But in such an advanced and civilized country, if one does not have the money to be able to pay for insurance as they do, he is forced to die, essentially.

It is strange that there is no provision for the omission of aid because on the basis of that it would be impossible not to provide assistance to those in need, here in fact if a doctor refuses to treat someone goes to a crime that is to omit of rescue. I don't know how it works from them, but what happens is really incredible. Lately there has been a famous film called si Sicko in which all these inconsistencies and injustices were presented, which are done daily in the United States.

Eh, in fact, throughout Europe, excluding Switzerland, which I will tell you later, anyone, even immigrants or even homeless, who should be sick is taken to hospital and is treated, whatever they have, they try to save their life in all the ways, that's why it seems absurd to me that instead in America the first thing you require is a credit card, after which they treat you. So if you don't have the money to treat yourself, they'll let you die. In a civilized country this is not allowed.

There is an Italian friend of mine who went to work in the United States became a surgeon, in fact he was already here but then he went on to become a cardiac surgeon and in the end he left behind the disgust that he felt whenever there was the situation in which they first evaluated if a person could do chemotherapy is then the do so many cancer patients in the United States are not treated for this reason. Precisely because and before they make sure they can do chemotherapy.

Eh, as I said before, now I'll tell you what had happened to a friend of mine who liked to climb the mountains. During a climb and fell a small stone hit him on the shoulder, but of course falling from a very high height, it has just completely shattered. He was on a mountain Switzerland was obviously admitted to an emergency hospital in Switzerland. In fact, the doctors did not do anything at all, if not right to buffer the slightest blood until his wife, who left Italy did not go with the credit card to let down some money to operate it. But does this seem civil to you?

Yes, it is incredible but everything is due to the lack of a public health facility. In America there are foundations of charitable associations that meet the poorest. All these hospitals which are then called clinics by them, are free and are managed completely with charity. There are doctors who work for free nurses who work for free, and wealthy people who donate money for the survival of these centers. Of course what happens that these centers are full of black people who come to be assisted but are not up to the centers ... they do not have the equipment that could have any private hospital.

Eh, as usual everything is based on volunteering, if there were not these volunteers, in fact, who devote their free time and also a good part of economic resources to treat others, the state just does not think about it in the least.

Si, gli Stati Uniti devono risolvere questo problema se vogliono continuare a essere credibili come paese democratico però è anche vero che Obama  sta proponendo la riforma sanitaria. che peraltro è già stata proposta tante volte dai democratici ma non aveva nessuna possibilità di passare, la sta proponendo in un momento di crisi, in momento di gravissima crisi e quindi è difficile che passi la legge proprio per questo motivo. das im Übrigen bereits mehrfach von den Demokraten vorgeschlagen wurde, aber keine Chance hatte, verabschiedet zu werden, wird in einer Zeit der Krise, einer sehr ernsten Krise, vorgeschlagen, und genau aus diesem Grund ist es schwierig, das Gesetz zu verabschieden. which, moreover, has already been proposed many times by the Democrats but had no chance to pass, is proposing it in a moment of crisis, in a moment of very serious crisis and therefore it is difficult for the law to pass precisely for this reason. On the other hand, he says: "Look, this reform still costs much less than the war in Iraq."

But, in fact, he was also elected precisely because he had carried out this thing, and in my opinion many gave him the vote for this very reason. And now, in fact, he is faced with a Parliament where most are against this law. And even here I still believe that the question is absurd. They could save on many other things, decrease salaries, as they do here and, obviously, the figure is the difference of the amount put into the state coffers precisely to establish a service that seems indispensable to me and above any other need of the population.

Yes, only that the spirit of the United States is also that of the individual's ability to succeed and therefore the fact that a person earns a lot of money is not seen as an offense to those who earn little but as something winning to be attributed. to this person. For example, now that the banks have had this very serious crisis because of them and have been subsidized by the state in the United States, it is not psychologically permissible to think that a person who manages to earn a lot of money should feel guilty, because it is the spirit is indeed, of the American dream of self-affirmation and whoever earns more is valid for Americans. On the other hand, in a time of crisis it shouldn't be like that. When Obama supported the state subsidy of the banks, he also called for a limitation on the salaries of top managers. Salaries that alone could restore part of the budget and this seemed the most sensible thing also because it was the top managers themselves who led to the ruin of the banks. Conversely, it seems that now the banks with state subsidies have become profitable again and have already begun the provisions for the salaries of top managers! For them it is normal so, understood, it does not enter their head that you can earn too much!

Capisco! I understand that many are also rich in America, in fact America has always been seen as the country of Bengodi, that is, as a very rich country, but most of the population is not at that level. Most of the population are normal people who have a certain type of job, they will also earn well, obviously because they do not have the contributions to pay and the salaries are very high, but there are many people who do not have a job and here they they should think about these people who do not have a job and the state must also think about their health. Mi sembra il minimo in un paese civile. It seems to me the least in a civilized country.
