Instructions

This exercise involves two components: i) defining happiness, and ii) incorporating happiness. This is a peer graded assignment. Review criteria less This peer reviewed assignment is worth 10 points in total. Your work will be graded on the following criteria: Did the report contain a definition of happiness? – 6 points Did the report contain a list of 3-4 things that make you happy in the way that you have defined it? – 4 points The final report for this exercise should, ideally, consist of two components: A definition of happiness, and A list of 3-4 things that make the student happy in the way that he/she has defined it (As you may recall, Prof. Raghunathan's definition of happiness is: Being joyful and light-hearted, but not at the cost of rationality or compassion. Further, some of the things that make him happy are: a) going for a run, b) watching “elevating” movies, and c) hanging out with family.) So long as the student mentions something that looks like a definition of happiness (e.g., happiness to me is the feeling I get from accomplishing goals, or happiness to me is feeling serenity and peace), give him/her 6 points. And so long as the student mentions at least one thing that makes him/her happy, give them another 4 points. If you happened to deduct points for any of the components, please explain your reasons by answering one (or both) of the following two questions: Did the report contain a definition of happiness? (E.g., You could say, “You lost 6 points because you failed to define happiness.”) Did the report contain a list of 3-4 things that makes the student happy in the way that he/she has defined it? (e.g., You could say, “You lost 4 points because, although you came up with a definition of happiness, you did not list any activities or things that make you happy.”) Assignment less In this exercise (detailed instructions can be found in Week 1, Video 11), you will answer two questions: What is your definition of happiness?, and What makes you happy in the way that you have defined it?
