Signing Autographs in Brazil

It's been awhile since we've been to São Paulo, but I still have some really fun memories. We went there on a Christian missions trip back in 2007, and here are a few of my most vivid memories. I remember playing soccer with a group of girls. I even scored 2 goals but I somehow tripped and sprained my ankle. I hobbled around for a few days, one time even stepping in dog poop. “Oh, that means good luck here in Brazil,” they told me. “Great,” I thought, “I must be really lucky.” We also went to a Brazilian BBQ buffet (Churrasco) where we were served all sorts of meats that they cut and served right in front of us. It was some of the best meat I had ever eaten. We ate way too much that day. I couldn't even close my pants. We often hung out on the streets with a group of hip-hop dancers. They were so cool, I wanted to be like them. It's kind of a secret dream of mine to be able to bust out some cool hip-hop moves, but unfortunately I am not at all gifted in this area. Tell me there is still hope! One day we went into a school to talk about God in front of the classrooms. The students treated us like celebrities because many of them had never seen an American before. They were so enamored they wanted our autographs! We signed so many notebooks and arms that day. The school director actually had to lead us out of the school by a back exit because he was afraid of the students mobbing us. What a funny experience!
