Short Travel Stories - Learn English with Camille, Betrayed with a Kiss in Spain

Betrayed with a Kiss in Spain

You know the whole backpacker thing that you see Americans doing in the movies? It's for real. I went backpacking with Calvin and 3 other friends around Europe. We decided to start in Spain and we were waiting for the train to take us into Barcelona. Our friend Kaylea was sitting on her chair with her winter coat on and we were standing beside her. A few young boys came to talk to us and were super nice. After a few minutes they leaned in to give us 2 kisses, one on each cheek, which is traditional in Spain, so we didn't think much about it. The one boy reached down and kissed Kaylea, and then they got out of the train station fairly quickly. That's when Kaylea noticed that the iPhone which was in her jacket pocket was gone. They stole it when they went in for a kiss. We went out after them but they were already long gone on a different train. We couldn't believe it. Kaylea never recovered her phone, but she learned a lesson. You can't always trust a kiss.
