King Henry the 8th was king of England from 1509-1547. He was married to six different women in his life. One of the reasons he got married so many times was because he wanted a son to be the next king after him. Henry's fifth wife was Kathryn Howard. Some people did not like Kathryn and told the king that she had a secret lover. Henry was mad and put Kathryn in prison and she was executed.

Henry's sixth and last wife was Catherine Parr. They were married for five years until Henry got sick and died in 1547. He was 55 years old.
