Hallo, ik ben Jeroen Overbeek en dit is het Nieuws van de Week...

...een journaal van de NOS in makkelijke taal.

Dit keer gaat het over het plan om een heleboel nieuwe huizen in Nederland te bouwen.

Verder vertellen we dat prinses Amalia extra wordt beveiligd.

En we leggen uit waarom het over de hele wereld slecht gaat met wilde dieren.

We beginnen met de woningnood. Er zijn te weinig huizen in Nederland.

Veel mensen zoeken een woning, maar kunnen er geen vinden.

Daarom moeten er meer huizen worden gebouwd, vindt de regering.

Daar zijn nu afspraken over gemaakt.

Op deze kaart staat hoeveel huizen in elke provincie moeten komen.

Bestuurders van de provincies zetten hun handtekening op die kaart.

Daarmee laten ze zien dat ze het eens zijn met de plannen.

Over de woonplannen is veel vergaderd.

En er zijn nu verschillende dingen afgesproken.

In totaal gaat het over ruim 900.000 nieuwe huizen in heel Nederland.

Voor een deel zijn dat huurhuizen en voor een deel koophuizen.

Een groot deel van die woningen moet betaalbaar zijn.

De regering heeft daar prijzen voor afgesproken.

En in 2030 moeten al die huizen er staan.

Dus over acht jaar.

Waar de huizen precies komen, dat is nog niet beslist.

Daar gaan provincies en gemeenten nu naar kijken.

Volgens de minister die gaat over wonen, is het erg belangrijk dat de huizen er komen.

We kennen allemaal iemand die gewoon wacht op een woning.

We kennen allemaal iemand, een jongere bijvoorbeeld, die daardoor het gevoel hebben...

...dat ze hun leven aan het uitstellen zijn op dit moment.

En daar moeten we gewoon vanaf, dus we moeten gewoon zorgen voor...

...voor meer woningen, we moeten doorbouwen en...

...dan zeg ik: ja er is één zekerheid en dat is dat er een gigantisch woningtekort is.

Dus wat je bouwt, daar zal behoefte aan zijn.

Aan dat woningtekort willen ze nu dus iets doen.

Maar het is nog onzeker of het lukt om alle nieuwe huizen op tijd af te hebben.

Bedrijven die de huizen moeten bouwen, zeggen dat het lastig wordt.

Materiaal, zoals hout en steen, is duur en er zijn te weinig bouwvakkers.

Toch wil de minister dat de bedrijven hun best doen.

Zodat er over een paar jaar genoeg woningen zijn voor iedereen.

Prinses Amalia heeft extra beveiliging gekregen. Ze wordt namelijk bedreigd.

Ze kan daarom niet gaan wonen in Amsterdam, waar ze studeert.

Koningin Máxima, de moeder van Amalia, vertelde aan journalisten...

...dat de bedreigingen grote gevolgen hebben voor de prinses.

Dat heeft enorme consequenties voor haar leven.

Dat betekent natuurlijk dat ze niet in Amsterdam woont en ook niet echt naar buiten kan.

Die consequenties zijn heel moeilijk voor haar.

Dus het is voor haar geen studentenleven zoals andere studenten dat hebben.

Prinses Amalia was net begonnen met een opleiding aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam.

De bedoeling was dat ze met andere studenten ging samenwonen...

...en dat ze zelf naar de lessen kon gaan.

Dit zijn beelden uit september, toen Amalia nog gewoon naar buiten mocht.

Ze liep naar de universiteit voor haar eerste les.

Wel waren er beveiligers in de buurt, die de omgeving in de gaten hielden.

Waarom prinses Amalia wordt bedreigd is niet bekend.

Waarschijnlijk heeft het ermee te maken dat ze belangrijk is voor Nederland.

Amalia is de kroonprinses, ze wordt later koningin.

Er zijn meer belangrijke mensen die worden bedreigd.

Politici bijvoorbeeld, die hebben ook te maken met bedreigingen.

Daarom zie je op hun werkplekken in Den Haag veel beveiligers.

Onderzoekers hebben gekeken naar wat de bedreigde mensen kan overkomen.

Die lopen gevaar dat ze aangevallen worden, op straat of thuis...

...iets naar hun hoofd krijgen of met wapens bedreigd worden.

Waar prinses Amalia precies mee wordt bedreigd, is niet bekendgemaakt.

En ook niet wie haar bedreigers zijn.

Maar veel mensen denken dat de bedreiging komt van criminelen...

...die haar willen ontvoeren of die haar iets anders willen aandoen.

De politie en de regering willen er niet veel over zeggen.

Maar premier Rutte vertelde wel dat hij het heel erg vindt voor Amalia.

Dat is natuurlijk vreselijk nieuws.

Ook heel heftig, de berichten die daarover naar buiten zijn gekomen.

In eerste plaats natuurlijk voor haarzelf. Ik moet u er helaas bij zeggen...

...dat ik over bedreigingen en ook over veiligheidsmaatregelen niks kan zeggen.

Ik kan u wel verzekeren dat iedereen die hier iets van afweet...

...en daar bij betrokken is vanuit de overheid...

...zijn uiterste best doet om dit uiteraard, om ervoor te zorgen dat ze veilig is.

Voorlopig woont prinses Amalia dus bij haar ouders...

...en houden beveiligers haar goed in de gaten.

Haar leven ziet er anders uit dan ze had gedacht, want ze heeft weinig vrijheid.

En daar hebben ook haar ouders het best moeilijk mee.

-Wat doet dat met u als vader?

Ja dat kan ik niet omschrijven. Dat is heel zwaar.

-Wat doet dat met uw moederhart, wat doet dat met u?

U ziet: ik ben er een beetje emotioneel van. Het is niet leuk om je kind niet blij te zien.

Het gaat slecht met dieren die in het wild leven.

De afgelopen vijftig jaar zijn er op de wereld een heleboel dieren verdwenen.

Dat zeggen onderzoekers van het Wereld Natuur Fonds.

Dat is een wereldwijde organisatie die de natuur wil beschermen.

Honderd deskundigen werkten mee aan het onderzoek.

Zij bestudeerden meer dan vijfduizend verschillende diersoorten...

...en zagen dat er voor hen steeds minder plek is om te leven.

Dieren waar het erg slecht mee gaat, zijn bijvoorbeeld laaglandgorilla's...

...omdat er veel op ze wordt gejaagd.

Roze rivierdolfijnen, omdat ze last hebben van vissers in hun leefgebied.

En Australische zeeleeuwen, omdat er op ze wordt gejaagd...

...en hun jongen vast komen te zitten in visnetten.

Dat er minder wilde dieren zijn, komt niet alleen door jagers en vissers.

Andere mensen kappen bijvoorbeeld veel bomen en gooien afval in de natuur.

Daardoor worden de natuurgebieden waar dieren leven, beschadigd.

En dan is er ook nog de verandering van het klimaat.

Door de opwarming van de aarde zijn er meer bosbranden.

Ook zijn er vaker orkanen en overstromingen, waardoor leefgebieden verdwijnen.

Er staat dus veel slecht nieuws in het onderzoek.

Maar de wetenschappers hadden ook goed nieuws.

Met sommige dieren gaat het nu beter dan een paar jaar geleden.

Zoals met de otter.

Een tijdlang waren er geen otters meer in Nederland.

Dat kwam doordat er bijvoorbeeld wegen werden gebouwd...

...dwars door gebieden waar otters leefden. Deze onderzoeker legt dat uit.

De otter ging weg omdat we het leefgebied aangetast hadden.

We hadden bomen gekapt, we hadden wegen aangelegd.

Dus daardoor had die otter geen plek meer om te leven.

Sindsdien is er in Nederland veel verbeterd.

Er zijn speciale oversteekplaatsen voor dieren gebouwd.

Ook zijn er nieuwe natuurgebieden en is het water schoner.

En nu leven er weer zo'n 450 otters in Nederland.

Kijk hier kun je dus door dat hek heen kijken. En dan kijk je zo die natuurverbinding in.

Dit is de plek waar die otter dus voorkomt en rondloopt en zwemt.

Je hebt wat gras en wat riet en struiken...

...en daarachter is het water waar de otter graag in zwemt.

De onderzoekers zeggen dat het nog niet te laat is om ook andere wilde dieren te helpen.

Binnenkort gaan ze daar aandacht voor vragen op een grote vergadering...

...met leiders uit de hele wereld.

In deze uitzending ging het over de plannen van de regering...

...om een heleboel nieuwe huizen te bouwen.

We vertelden dat prinses Amalia voor haar veiligheid thuis moet blijven wonen.

En we lieten zien waarom het slecht gaat met veel wilde dieren.
