#122: 中国人去美国前没想到的三件事

这个 月 我 去 美国 出差 ， 一起 去 的 几个 中国 同事 之前 从来 没有 去过 美国 ， 所以 他们 对 美国 社会 的 很多 方面 感到 非常 新鲜 。 今天 我 就 跟 大家 说 说 中国 人去 美国 前 没想到 的 三件 事 。

第一件 事 就是 喝 冰水 。 在 中国 人 的 观念 中 ， 温水 最 有益于 身体健康 ， 喝 凉水 很 容易 肚子疼 ， 喝 热水 对 食道 不好 。 中国 人 喜欢 喝茶 ， 有时候 宁愿 喝 很 烫 的 水 ， 也 不 喝 冰水 。

而 在 美国 餐馆 吃饭 ， 服务员 一 开始 就会端 来 一大 杯加 冰块 的 水 ， 这 让 我 的 同事 们 很 不能 接受 ， 于是 都 要求 换成 常温 的 水 或者 热水 。 另外 ， 中国 人 的 一天 三顿 饭 基本 都 是 热 的 ， 有些 人 还 喜欢 吃 很 烫 的 食物 ， 比如 火锅 。 而 美国 人 早餐 喝 的 牛奶 和 橙汁 是从 冰箱 里 直接 拿 出来 的 ， 午餐 和 晚餐 也 可以 吃 没有 加热 过 的 三明治 。 所以 吃凉 的 食物 ， 对刚 到 美国 的 中国 人 来说 真是 一种 挑战 。

第二件 事是 穿 拖鞋 。 中国 的 酒店 一般 都 会 提供 一次性 的 拖鞋 ， 因为 中国 人 习惯 在 进入 房间 后 换上 拖鞋 。 如果 你 去 中国 人 家里 作客 ， 主人 也 会 邀请 你 在 进门 时 换上 拖鞋 。

原因 是 外面 的 地面 很脏 ， 换上 拖鞋 可以 保持 房间 地面 的 干净 。 我 的 美国 朋友 对 我 说 ， 到 中国 来 之前 他 从来 没有 穿过 拖鞋 ， 因为 美国 人 家里 一般 都 铺 地毯 ， 回家 后 就 直接 踩 在 地毯 上 ， 没有 穿 拖鞋 的 习惯 。 而 大多数 中国 人 家里 都 铺 着 木地板 或者 地板砖 ， 穿 上 拖鞋 后 ， 双脚 会 更 温暖 和 舒适 。 所以 中国 人 每次 出差 ， 一般 都 会 习惯 带 一双 轻便 的 拖鞋 。

第三个 让 中国 人 没想到 的 是 美国 卫生间 里 的 纸 。 中国 很多 公共场所 的 卫生间 ， 比如 商场 、 公园 、 加油站 、 医院 、 车站 等等 ， 是 不 提供 厕所 用纸 的 。 所以 很多 中国 人 出门 都 会 随身带 一包 纸巾 。

而 美国 的 卫生间 内 都 有 厕所 用纸 ， 大部分 卫生间 还 提供 可以 垫 在 马桶 座 上 的 纸 ， 这 让 我 觉得 非常 方便 卫生 。 现在 ， 中国 一些 比较 高档 的 场所 也 会 提供 厕所 用纸 ， 但 这种 做法 并 没有 在 全国 普及 。 有人 说 ， 要 了解 一个 国家 的 发达 程度 ， 只要 去 厕所 看看 就 知道 了 。 我 觉得 这种 说法 是 有 一定 道理 的 。

第一件 事 就是 喝 冰水 。 The first thing you should do is drink ice water. 而 在 美国 餐馆 吃饭 ， 服务员 一 开始 就会端 来 一大 杯加 冰块 的 水 ， 这 让 我 的 同事 们 很 不能 接受 ， 于是 都 要求 换成 常温 的 水 或者 热水 。 Beim Essen in einem amerikanischen Restaurant brachte der Kellner zu Beginn ein großes Glas Wasser mit Eis mit, was meine Kollegen sehr inakzeptabel machte, und sie baten darum, auf normales oder heißes Wasser umzusteigen.
