端午节

农历 五月 初五 ， 是 中国 民间 传统 的 端午节 *， 也 叫 “ 五月节 ”。

过 端午节 时 ， 人们 要 吃 粽子 *， 赛龙舟 *。 据说 ， 举行 这些 活动 ， 是 为了 纪念 中国 古代 的 爱国 诗人 屈原 *。

屈原 是 战国 * 时期 楚国 * 人 。

当时 的 秦国 * 最强 ， 总 要 吞并 * 其他 六国 ， 称霸 * 天下 。 屈原 是 楚国 的 大夫 *， 很 有 才能 。 他 想 改革 * 楚国 政治 *， 联合 各国 ， 共同 抵抗 * 秦国 。 但是 屈原 的 主张 没有 被 楚王 采纳 *, 反而 被 赶出 * 了 楚国 国都 *。 屈原 离开 国都 后 ， 仍然 关心 祖国 。 后来 他 听到 楚国 被 秦国 打败 * 的 消息 ， 非常 悲痛 ， 感到 自己 已经 没有 力量 拯救 * 祖国 ， 就 跳进 汨罗江 * 自杀 * 了 。 这 一天 正是 公元前 *278 年 农历 的 五月 初五 。

人们 听到 消息 后 ， 都 划着 船 赶来 打捞 * 他 的 尸体 *， 但 没有 找到 。

为了 不让 鱼虾 吃掉 屈原 的 身体 ， 百姓 们 就 把 食物 扔进 * 江中 喂 鱼 *。 以后 ， 每年 五月 初五 ， 人们 都 要 这样 做 。 后来 ， 人们 又 改为 用 芦苇 * 的 叶子 把 糯米 包 成 粽子 扔进 江里 ， 于是 就 形成 * 了 端午节 吃 粽子 、 赛龙舟 的 习俗 。
