有 一個 法利賽 人 ， 名叫 尼哥底母 ， 是 猶太人 的 官 。 這人 夜裡 來見 耶穌 ， 說 「 拉比 ， 我們 知道 你 是 由 神 那 來作 師傅 的 ； 因為 你 所行 的 神蹟 ， 若 沒有 神同 在 ， 無人 能 行 。」 耶穌 回答 說 ：「 我 實實在在 地 告訴 你 ， 人若 不 重生 ， 就 不能 見 神的國 。」 尼哥底母 說 ：「 人 已經 老 了 ， 如何 能 重生 呢 ？ 豈能 再進 母腹 生 出來 嗎 ？ 」 耶穌 說 ：「 我 實實在在 的 告訴 你 ， 人若 不 是從 水 和 聖靈 生 的 ， 就 不能 進神的國 。 從 肉身 生 的 就是 肉身 ； 從靈生 的 就是 靈 。 我 說 ：『 你們 必須 重生 』， 你 不要 以為 希奇 。 風 隨著 意思 吹 ， 你 聽見 風 的 響聲 ， 卻 不 曉得 從 那裡 來 ， 往 那裡 去 ； 凡 從 聖靈 生 的 ， 也 是 如此 。」 尼哥底母 問 他 說 ：「 怎能 有 這事 呢 ？ 」 耶穌 回答 說 ：「 你 是 以色列 人 的 先生 ， 還不 明白 這事 嗎 ？ 我 實實在在 的 告訴 你 ， 我們 所說 的 是 我們 知道 的 ； 我們 所 見證 的 是 我們 見過 的 ； 你們 卻 不 領受 我們 的 見證 。 我 對 你們 說 地上 的 事 ， 你們 尚且 不 信 ， 若 說 天上 的 事 ， 如何 能 信 呢 ？ 除了 從天 降下 、 仍舊 在 天 的 人子 ， 沒有 人 升 過 天 。 摩西 在 曠野 怎樣 舉 蛇 ， 人子 也 必 照樣 被 舉 起來 ， 叫 一切 信 他 的 都 得 永生 （ 或作 ： 叫 一切 信 的 人 在 他裡面 得 永生 ）。 「 神愛世人 ， 甚至 將他 的 獨生子 賜給 他們 ， 叫 一切 信 他 的 ， 不 至 滅亡 ， 反 得 永生 。 因為 神 差 他 的 兒子 降世 ， 不是 要 定 世人 的 罪 （ 或作 ： 審判 世人 ； 下同 ）， 乃是 要 叫 世人 因 他 得救 。 信 他 的 人 ， 不 被 定罪 ； 不信 的 人 ， 罪 已經 定 了 ， 因為 他 不 信神 獨生子 的 名 。 光 來到 世間 ， 世人 因 自己 的 行為 是 惡 的 ， 不愛光 ， 倒 愛 黑暗 ， 定 他們 的 罪 就是 在 此 。 凡 作惡 的 便 恨 光 ， 並 不來 就 光 ， 恐怕 他 的 行為 受 責備 。 但 行 真理 的 必來 就 光 ， 要 顯明 他 所行 的 是 靠 神 而 行 。」 這事 以後 ， 耶穌 和 門徒 到 了 猶太 地 ， 在 那裡 居住 ， 施洗 。 約翰 在 靠近 撒冷 的 哀嫩 也 施洗 ； 因為 那裡 水多 ， 眾人 都 去 受洗 。 （ 那時 約翰 還 沒有 下 在 監 計 。 ） 約翰 的 門徒 和 一個 猶太人 辯論 潔淨 的 禮 ， 就 來見 約翰 ， 說 ：「 拉比 ， 從前 同 你 在 約旦河 外 、 你 所 見證 的 那位 ， 現在 施洗 ， 眾人 都 往 他 那裡 去 了 。」 約翰 說 ：「 若 不 是從 天上 賜 的 ， 人 就 不能 得 甚麼 。 我 曾 說 ：『 我 不是 基督 ， 是 奉 差遣 在 他 前面 的 』， 你們 自己 可以 給我作 見證 。 娶 新婦 的 就是 新郎 ； 新郎 的 朋友 站 著 ， 聽見 新郎 的 聲音 就 甚 喜樂 。 故此 ， 我 這 喜樂 滿足 了 。 他 必 興旺 ， 我必 衰微 。」 「 從天 上來 的 是 在 萬 有 之上 ； 從 地 上來 的 是 屬乎 地 ， 他 所說 的 也 是 屬乎 地 。 從天 上來 的 是 在 萬 有 之上 。 他將 所見所聞 的 見證 出來 ， 只是 沒有 人 領受 他 的 見證 。 那 領受 他 見證 的 ， 就 印 上 印 ， 證明 神是 真的 。 神所 差 來 的 就 說 神 的話 ， 因為 神 賜 聖靈 給他 是 沒有 限量 的 。 父愛 子 ， 已將 萬有 交在 他 手裡 。 信 子 的 人 有 永生 ； 不 信 子 的 人 得 不著 永生 （ 原文 作 不得 見 永生 ）， 神 的 震怒 常 在 他 身上 。」

有 一個 法利賽 人 ， 名叫 尼哥底母 ， 是 猶太人 的 官 。 這人 夜裡 來見 耶穌 ， 說 「 拉比 ， 我們 知道 你 是 由 神 那 來作 師傅 的 ； 因為 你 所行 的 神蹟 ， 若 沒有 神同 在 ， 無人 能 行 。」 This man came to Jesus by night and said, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher from God; for no one can do the signs that you are doing without God being with you." 耶穌 回答 說 ：「 我 實實在在 地 告訴 你 ， 人若 不 重生 ， 就 不能 見 神的國 。」 尼哥底母 說 ：「 人 已經 老 了 ， 如何 能 重生 呢 ？ Nicodemus said, "How can a man be born again when he is old? 豈能 再進 母腹 生 出來 嗎 ？ 」 耶穌 說 ：「 我 實實在在 的 告訴 你 ， 人若 不 是從 水 和 聖靈 生 的 ， 就 不能 進神的國 。 從 肉身 生 的 就是 肉身 ； 從靈生 的 就是 靈 。 我 說 ：『 你們 必須 重生 』， 你 不要 以為 希奇 。 Don't be surprised when I say, "You must be born again." 風 隨著 意思 吹 ， 你 聽見 風 的 響聲 ， 卻 不 曉得 從 那裡 來 ， 往 那裡 去 ； 凡 從 聖靈 生 的 ， 也 是 如此 。」 尼哥底母 問 他 說 ：「 怎能 有 這事 呢 ？ Nicodemus asked him, "How can this happen? 」 耶穌 回答 說 ：「 你 是 以色列 人 的 先生 ， 還不 明白 這事 嗎 ？ 我 實實在在 的 告訴 你 ， 我們 所說 的 是 我們 知道 的 ； 我們 所 見證 的 是 我們 見過 的 ； 你們 卻 不 領受 我們 的 見證 。 I tell you the truth, what we say is what we know; what we witness is what we have seen; but you do not receive our testimony. 我 對 你們 說 地上 的 事 ， 你們 尚且 不 信 ， 若 說 天上 的 事 ， 如何 能 信 呢 ？ If I tell you things on earth, and you do not believe them, how can you believe if I say things in heaven? 除了 從天 降下 、 仍舊 在 天 的 人子 ， 沒有 人 升 過 天 。 No one has ascended to heaven except the Son of Man who came down from heaven and is still in heaven. 摩西 在 曠野 怎樣 舉 蛇 ， 人子 也 必 照樣 被 舉 起來 ， 叫 一切 信 他 的 都 得 永生 （ 或作 ： 叫 一切 信 的 人 在 他裡面 得 永生 ）。 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so the Son of Man will be lifted up, so that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. 「 神愛世人 ， 甚至 將他 的 獨生子 賜給 他們 ， 叫 一切 信 他 的 ， 不 至 滅亡 ， 反 得 永生 。 因為 神 差 他 的 兒子 降世 ， 不是 要 定 世人 的 罪 （ 或作 ： 審判 世人 ； 下同 ）， 乃是 要 叫 世人 因 他 得救 。 Because God sent his Son into the world, not to condemn the world (or: to judge the world; the same below), but to save the world through him. 信 他 的 人 ， 不 被 定罪 ； 不信 的 人 ， 罪 已經 定 了 ， 因為 他 不 信神 獨生子 的 名 。 He who believes in him is not condemned; he who does not believe is condemned, because he does not believe in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 光 來到 世間 ， 世人 因 自己 的 行為 是 惡 的 ， 不愛光 ， 倒 愛 黑暗 ， 定 他們 的 罪 就是 在 此 。 Light came into the world, and the world is condemned because of its evil deeds, loving not the light but the darkness. 凡 作惡 的 便 恨 光 ， 並 不來 就 光 ， 恐怕 他 的 行為 受 責備 。 Whoever does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his deeds be reproved. 但 行 真理 的 必來 就 光 ， 要 顯明 他 所行 的 是 靠 神 而 行 。」 But he who does the truth will come to the light, to show that what he does is by God. " 這事 以後 ， 耶穌 和 門徒 到 了 猶太 地 ， 在 那裡 居住 ， 施洗 。 約翰 在 靠近 撒冷 的 哀嫩 也 施洗 ； 因為 那裡 水多 ， 眾人 都 去 受洗 。 John also baptized in Aenon, which is near Salem; and because of the abundance of water there, all went to be baptized. （ 那時 約翰 還 沒有 下 在 監 計 。 ） 約翰 的 門徒 和 一個 猶太人 辯論 潔淨 的 禮 ， 就 來見 約翰 ， 說 ：「 拉比 ， 從前 同 你 在 約旦河 外 、 你 所 見證 的 那位 ， 現在 施洗 ， 眾人 都 往 他 那裡 去 了 。」 ) John's disciples debated with a Jew about the rites of purification, and they came to John and said, "Rabbi, whoever was with you beyond the Jordan, whom you testified about, is now baptizing, and all go to him. " 約翰 說 ：「 若 不 是從 天上 賜 的 ， 人 就 不能 得 甚麼 。 John said, "A man can receive nothing unless it is given from heaven. 我 曾 說 ：『 我 不是 基督 ， 是 奉 差遣 在 他 前面 的 』， 你們 自己 可以 給我作 見證 。 I have said, "I am not the Christ, but sent before him," and you yourselves can bear witness to me. 娶 新婦 的 就是 新郎 ； 新郎 的 朋友 站 著 ， 聽見 新郎 的 聲音 就 甚 喜樂 。 The bridegroom is the bridegroom; the friend of the bridegroom stands and rejoices at the voice of the bridegroom. 故此 ， 我 這 喜樂 滿足 了 。 Therefore, my joy is full. 他 必 興旺 ， 我必 衰微 。」 He shall prosper, and I shall decline. " 「 從天 上來 的 是 在 萬 有 之上 ； 從 地 上來 的 是 屬乎 地 ， 他 所說 的 也 是 屬乎 地 。 "He who is from heaven is above all; he who is from earth is of the earth, and what he speaks is of the earth. 從天 上來 的 是 在 萬 有 之上 。 The one from heaven is above all. 他將 所見所聞 的 見證 出來 ， 只是 沒有 人 領受 他 的 見證 。 He testified what he saw and heard, but no one received his testimony. 那 領受 他 見證 的 ， 就 印 上 印 ， 證明 神是 真的 。 He who receives his testimony will put the seal on it, proving that God is real. 神所 差 來 的 就 說 神 的話 ， 因為 神 賜 聖靈 給他 是 沒有 限量 的 。 Those whom God sends speak the word of God, for God has no limit to the Holy Spirit given to him. 父愛 子 ， 已將 萬有 交在 他 手裡 。 The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hands. 信 子 的 人 有 永生 ； 不 信 子 的 人 得 不著 永生 （ 原文 作 不得 見 永生 ）， 神 的 震怒 常 在 他 身上 。」 He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not believe in the Son will not see eternal life, but the wrath of God abides on him. "
