當下 彼 拉多 將 耶穌 鞭打 了 。 Then Pilate whipped Jesus. 兵丁 用 荊棘 編作 冠冕 戴 在 他 頭上 ， 給他 穿 上 紫袍 ， 又 挨近 他 ， 說 ： 恭喜 ， 猶太人 的 王 阿 ！ The soldiers put a crown of thorns on his head, and clothed him with purple, and they approached him and said, "Congratulations, O King of the Jews! 他們 就 用 手掌 打 他 。 They beat him with their palms. 彼 拉多 又 出來 對眾 人 說 ： 我 帶 他 出來 見 你們 ， 叫 你們 知道 我 查不出 他 有 甚麼 罪來 。 Pilate went out again and said to the crowd, I have brought him out to you, so that you may know that I cannot find any guilt in him. 耶穌 出來 ， 戴 著 荊棘 冠冕 ， 穿著 紫袍 。 Jesus came out wearing a crown of thorns and a purple robe. 彼 拉多 對 他們 說 ： 你們 看 這個 人 ！ 祭 司長 和 差役 看見 他 ， 就 喊 著 說 ： 釘 他 十字架 ！ 釘 他 十字架 ！ 彼 拉多 說 ： 你們 自己 把 他 釘 十字架 罷 ！ 我 查不出 他 有 甚麼 罪來 。 猶太人 回答 說 ： 我們 有 律法 ， 按 那 律法 ， 他 是 該死 的 ， 因 他 以 自己 為 神 的 兒子 。 The Jews answered, We have a law, and according to that law he deserved to die, because he made himself the Son of God. 彼 拉多 聽見 這話 ， 越發 害怕 ， 又 進 衙門 ， 對 耶穌 說 ： 你 是 那裡 來 的 ？ When Pilate heard this, he became more and more frightened. He entered the yamen again and said to Jesus, "Where are you from?" 耶穌 卻 不 回答 。 彼 拉多 說 ： 你 不 對 我 說話 麼 ？ 你 豈不知 我 有 權柄 釋放 你 ， 也 有 權柄 把 你 釘 十字架 麼 ？ 耶穌 回答 說 ： 若 不 是從 上頭 賜給 你 的 ， 你 就 毫無 權柄 辦 我 。 Jesus answered: You have no authority over me unless it was given to you from above. 所以 ， 把 我 交給 你 的 那人罪 更重 了 。 So, the man who handed me over to you is more sinful. 從此 ， 彼 拉多 想要 釋放 耶穌 ， 無奈 猶太人 喊 著 說 ： 你 若 釋放 這個 人 ， 就 不是 該 撒 的 忠臣 （ 原文 作 朋友 ）。 From then on, Pilate tried to release Jesus, but the Jews cried out, "If you release this man, you are not a loyal servant of Caesar." 凡以 自己 為 王 的 ， 就是 背叛 該 撒 了 。 彼 拉多 聽見 這話 ， 就 帶 耶穌 出來 ， 到 了 一個 地方 ， 名叫 鋪華 石處 ， 希伯來 話 叫 厄巴大 ， 就 在 那裡 坐堂 。 When Pilate heard this, he took Jesus out, to a place called the Stone of Pavement, which is called Abada in Hebrew, and sat there in the hall. 那日 是 預備 逾越節 的 日子 ， 約 有 午正 。 That day was the day of preparation for the Passover, and it was about noon. 彼 拉多 對 猶太人 說 ： 看 哪 ， 這是 你們 的 王 ！ 他們 喊 著 說 ： 除掉 他 ！ 除掉 他 ！ 釘 他 在 十字架 上 ！ 彼 拉多 說 ： 我 可以 把 你們 的 王釘 十字架 麼 ？ Pilate said: Shall I crucify your king? 祭 司長 回答 說 ： 除了 該 撒 ， 我們 沒有 王 。 於是 彼 拉多 將 耶穌 交給 他們 去 釘 十字架 。 他們 就 把 耶穌 帶 了 去 。 They took Jesus away. 耶穌 背著 自己 的 十字架 出來 ， 到 了 一個 地方 ， 名叫 髑髏 地 ， 希伯來 話 叫 各 各 他 。 他們 就 在 那裡 釘 他 在 十字架 上 ， 還有 兩個 人 和 他 一同 釘 著 ， 一邊 一個 ， 耶穌 在 中間 。 There they crucified him, and two others were crucified with him, one on each side, with Jesus in the middle. 彼 拉多 又 用 牌子 寫 了 一個 名號 ， 安在 十字架 上 ， 寫 的 是 ： 猶太人 的 王 ， 拿 撒勒人 耶穌 。 Pilate wrote another name on a plaque and put it on the cross, and it was written: Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews. 有 許多 猶太人 念 這 名號 ； 因為 耶穌 被 釘 十字架 的 地方 與 城 相近 ， 並且 是 用 希伯來 、 羅馬 、 希利尼 三樣 文字 寫 的 。 Many Jews pronounced this name; for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Hebrew, Roman, and Greek. 猶太人 的 祭 司長 就 對 彼 拉多 說 ： 不要 寫 猶太人 的 王 ， 要 寫 他 自己 說 ： 我 是 猶太人 的 王 。 Then the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate: Write not the king of the Jews, but write himself: I am the king of the Jews. 彼 拉多 說 ： 我 所寫 的 ， 我 已經 寫 上 了 。 Pilate said: What I have written, I have written. 兵丁 既然 將 耶穌 釘 在 十字架 上 ， 就 拿 他 的 衣服 分為 四 分 ， 每兵 一分 ； 又 拿 他 的 裡衣 ， 這件 裡衣 原來 沒有 縫兒 ， 是 上下 一片 織 成 的 。 When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his clothes and divided them into four parts, one for each soldier; and also his coat, which had no seams, but was woven from top to bottom. 他們 就 彼此 說 ： 我們 不要 撕開 ， 只要 拈鬮 ， 看 誰 得 著 。 And they said to each other: Let us not tear it apart, but cast lots to see who gets it. 這要 應驗 經上 的話 說 ： 他們 分 了 我 的 外衣 ， 為 我 的 裡衣 拈鬮 。 This is to fulfill the scriptures: They divided my coat and cast lots for my coat. 兵丁 果然 做 了 這事 。 Soldiers did exactly that. 站 在 耶穌 十字架 旁邊 的 ， 有 他 母親 與 他 母親 的 姊妹 ， 並 革羅罷 的 妻子 馬利亞 ， 和 抹 大拉 的 馬利亞 。 Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother's sister, and Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 耶穌 見 母親 和 他 所愛 的 那 門徒 站 在 旁邊 ， 就 對 他 母親 說 ： 母親 （ 原文 作 婦人 ）， 看 ， 你 的 兒子 ！ When Jesus saw his mother standing by with the disciple whom he loved, he said to his mother, "Mother, behold, your son! 又 對 那 門徒 說 ： 看 ， 你 的 母親 ！ And said to the disciple: Behold, your mother! 從此 ， 那 門徒 就 接 他 到 自己 家裡 去 了 。 From then on, the disciple took him to his own home. 這事 以後 ， 耶穌 知道 各樣 的 事 已經 成 了 ， 為 要 使 經上 的話 應驗 ， 就 說 ： 我渴 了 。 After this, Jesus, knowing that all things had been accomplished, that the scriptures might be fulfilled, said, I am thirsty. 有 一個 器皿 盛滿 了 醋 ， 放在 那裡 ； 他們 就 拿 海絨 蘸 滿 了 醋 ， 綁 在 牛膝草 上 ， 送到 他口 。 There was a vessel full of vinegar, and it was put there; and they took sea wool, soaked it in vinegar, tied it to hyssop, and brought it to his mouth. 耶穌 嘗 （ 原文 作受 ） 了 那 醋 ， 就 說 ： 成 了 ！ 便 低下 頭 ， 將 靈魂 交付 神 了 。 He bowed his head and surrendered his soul to God. 猶太人 因 這日 是 預備 日 ， 又 因 那 安息日 是 個 大日 ， 就求 彼 拉多 叫 人 打斷 他們 的 腿 ， 把 他們 拿 去 ， 免得 屍首 當 安息日 留在 十字架 上 。 The Jews, because this day was the day of preparation, and because the Sabbath day was a great day, asked Pilate that their legs should be broken and that they should be taken away, so that the dead bodies would not be left on the cross on the Sabbath day. 於是 兵丁 來 ， 把 頭 一個 人 的 腿 ， 並與 耶穌 同釘 第二個 人 的 腿 ， 都 打斷 了 。 So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first man and the legs of the second man who were crucified with Jesus. 只是 來到 耶穌 那裡 ， 見 他 已經 死 了 ， 就 不 打斷 他 的 腿 。 惟有 一個 兵 拿 槍 扎 他 的 肋 旁 ， 隨即 有血 和 水流 出來 。 But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and blood and water flowed out. 看見 這事 的 那 人 就 作 見證 ─ 他 的 見證 也 是 真的 ， 並且 他 知道 自己 所說 的 是 真的 ─ 叫 你們 也 可以 信 。 The man who saw it testified—and his testimony was true, and he knew that what he said was true—that you may also believe. 這些 事 成 了 ， 為 要 應驗 經上 的話 說 ： 他 的 骨頭 一根 也 不可 折斷 。 經上 又 有 一句 說 ： 他們 要 仰望 自己 所 扎 的 人 。 這些 事 以後 ， 有 亞利馬太 人 約瑟 ， 是 耶穌 的 門徒 ， 只 因怕 猶太人 ， 就 暗暗 的 作 門徒 。 After these things, Joseph of Arimathea, a disciple of Jesus, secretly became a disciple because he was afraid of the Jews. 他來求 彼 拉多 ， 要 把 耶穌 的 身體 領 去 。 彼 拉多 允准 ， 他 就 把 耶穌 的 身體 領去 了 。 Pilate agreed, and he took the body of Jesus away. 又 有 尼哥底母 ， 就是 先前 夜裡 去 見 耶穌 的 ， 帶著 沒藥 和 沉香 約 有 一百斤 前來 。 And Nicodemus, who had gone to see Jesus at night, came with myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds. 他們 就照 猶太人 殯葬 的 規矩 ， 把 耶穌 的 身體 用細 麻布 加上 香料 裹 好 了 。 So they wrapped the body of Jesus in fine linen cloth and spices, according to Jewish burial customs. 在 耶穌 釘 十字架 的 地方 有 一個 園子 ， 園子 裡有 一座 新 墳墓 ， 是 從來 沒有 葬 過人 的 。 There was a garden where Jesus was crucified, and in the garden was a new tomb where no one had ever been buried. 只 因 是 猶太人 的 預備 日 ， 又 因 那 墳墓 近 ， 他們 就 把 耶穌 安放 在 那裡 。
