路加福音3
該 撒 提庇 留在 位 第 十五年 ， 本 丟彼 拉多 作 猶太 巡撫 ， 希律作 加利利 分封 的 王 ， 他 兄弟 腓力 作以士 利亞 和 特拉 可尼 地方 分封 的 王 ， 呂撒 聶作亞 比利 尼 分封 的 王 ， 亞那 和 該 亞法作 大祭司 。
In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, Herod was tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip was tetrarch of Ishria and Trachonitis, Saniah was tetrarch of Abilene, and Annas and Caiaphas were high priests.
那時 ， 撒迦 利亞 的 兒子 約翰 在 曠野 裡 ， 神 的話 臨到 他 。
At that time John the son of Zechariah was in the wilderness when the word of God came to him.
他 就 來到 約 但 河 一帶 地方 ， 宣講 悔改 的 洗禮 ， 使罪 得 赦 。
So he came to the region around the Jordan and preached the baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
正如 先知 以賽亞 書上 所記 的話 ， 說 ： 在 曠野 有人 聲喊 著 說 ： 預備 主 的 道 ， 修直 他 的 路 ！
As it is written in the prophet Isaiah, saying: A voice cried out in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight!
一切 山窪 都 要 填滿 ； 大小 山岡 都 要 削平 ！
All the valleys shall be filled; all the hills and valleys shall be flattened!
彎彎曲曲 的 地方 要 改為 正直 ； 高高低低 的 道路 要 改為 平坦 ！
凡有 血氣 的 ， 都 要 見 神 的 救恩 ！
All flesh will see the salvation of God!
約翰 對 那 出來 要 受 他 洗 的 眾人 說 ： 毒蛇 的 種類 ！
John said to those who came out to be baptized by him, Breed of vipers!
誰 指示 你們 逃避 將來 的 忿怒 呢 ？
Who instructed you to flee from the wrath to come?
你們 要 結出 果子 來 ， 與 悔改 的 心 相稱 。
Bring forth fruit worthy of repentance.
不要 自己 心裡 說 ： 有 亞伯拉罕 為 我們 的 祖宗 。
Do not say to yourself: Abraham is our father.
我 告訴 你們 ， 神能 從 這些 石頭 中 ， 給 亞伯拉罕 興起 子孫 來 。
I tell you, God is able to raise up children to Abraham out of these stones.
現在 斧子 已經 放在 樹根 上 ， 凡 不 結好 果子 的 樹 就 砍下來 ， 丟在 火裡 。
眾人問 他 說 ： 這樣 ， 我們 當作 甚麼 呢 ？
The crowd asked him, "So, what shall we do?
約翰 回答 說 ： 有 兩件 衣裳 的 ， 就 分給 那 沒有 的 ； 有 食物 的 ， 也當 這樣 行 。
John answered and said, Whoever has two garments, give it to the one who does not have; and whoever has food, let him do the same.
又 有 稅吏 來要 受洗 ， 問他 說 ： 夫子 ， 我們 當作 甚麼 呢 ？
Another tax collector came to be baptized, and asked him, "Master, what shall we do?
約翰 說 ： 除了 例定 的 數目 ， 不要 多取 。
John said: Do not take more than the prescribed amount.
又 有 兵丁 問他 說 ： 我們 當作 甚麼 呢 ？
Another soldier asked him, "What shall we do?
約翰 說 ： 不要 以 強暴 待人 ， 也 不要 訛詐 人 ， 自己 有 錢糧 就當 知足 。
John said: Do not use violence against others, and do not defraud others, but be content with your own money.
百姓 指望 基督 來 的 時候 ， 人 都 心裡 猜疑 ， 或者 約翰 是 基督 。
When the people were expecting Christ to come, they doubted in their hearts that John was the Christ.
約翰 說 ： 我 是 用水 給 你們 施洗 ， 但 有 一位 能力 比 我 更 大 的 要來 ， 我 就是 給他 解 鞋帶 也 不配 。
他 要 用 聖靈 與 火給 你們 施洗 。
他 手裡 拿 著 簸箕 ， 要揚淨 他 的場 ， 把 麥子 收在 倉裡 ， 把 糠 用 不滅 的 火 燒盡 了 。
約翰 又 用 許多 別的 話 勸 百姓 ， 向 他們 傳 福音 。
John used many other words to persuade the people and preach the gospel to them.
只是 分封 的 王希律 ， 因 他 兄弟 之妻 希羅 底 的 緣故 ， 並因 他 所行 的 一切 惡事 ， 受 了 約翰 的 責備 ； 又 另外 添 了 一件 ， 就是 把 約翰 收在 監裡 。
But Herod the tetrarch was rebuked by John because of Herodias, his brother's wife, and for all the wickedness he had done; and one more thing, that John was put in prison.
眾 百姓 都受了 洗 ， 耶穌 也 受 了 洗 。
All the people were baptized, and Jesus was baptized.
正 禱告 的 時候 ， 天 就 開 了 ， 聖靈 降臨 在 他 身上 ， 形狀 彷彿 鴿子 ； 又 有 聲音 從天 上來 ， 說 ： 你 是 我 的 愛子 ， 我 喜悅 你 。
While he was praying, the heavens opened, and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in the shape of a dove; and a voice came from heaven, saying: You are my beloved Son, and I delight in you.
耶穌 開頭 傳道 ， 年紀 約 有 三十歲 。
Jesus began preaching at about thirty years old.
