精衛 填海 Jingwei reclamation

今日 我 要 講 嘅 ， 係 一 個 為咗 向 大海 報復 ， 可以 去 到 幾 盡 嘅 故事 ⋯⋯ Today, I'm going to tell a story about how far you can go to get back at the sea...

從前 有 一 個 皇帝 ， 佢 叫做 炎帝 。 Once upon a time, there was an emperor called Yandi. 炎帝 有 一 個 女 ， 叫做 女娃 。 女娃 平時 好 乖 ， 炎帝 次次 見 到 佢 都 忍唔住 讚 佢 。 The girl was so good that Yandi could not help praising her every time he saw her.

但係 炎帝 好 忙 ， 佢 每 日 都 要 出去 辦公 ， 好多 嘢 做 ， 所以 成日 都 唔 喺 屋企 。 女娃 見 爸爸 成日 唔 喺 屋企 ， 就 成日 自己 一 個 出去 玩 。 When she saw that her father was not in the house, she went out to play by herself all the time. 佢 有 一 個 夢想 ， 就 係 去 東面 嘅 大海 睇 日出 。 One of her dreams is to go to the sea in the east to watch the sunrise. 但係 一來 佢 爸爸 成日 都 唔 得閒 ， 二來 大海 實在 太 遠 ， 所以 女娃 一 次 都 冇 見 過 大海 。 But on the one hand, her father didn't have time to spare, and on the other hand, the sea was too far away, so the girl never saw it.

有 一 日 ， 女娃 冇 同 爸爸 講 聲 ， 就 自己 向住 太陽 升起 嘅 方向 ， 撐 艇仔 出海 。 One day, without speaking to her father, the girl went out on her own in a boat in the direction of the rising sun. 不幸 嘅 係 ， 海上 突然 刮起 狂風大浪 ， 風浪 好似 山 一樣 咁 高 ， 霎時間 就 打沉 咗 女娃 隻 艇仔 。 女娃 跌 咗 落 海 ， 最終 俾 無情 嘅 大海 吞沒 ， 永遠 都 返 唔 到 嚟 。 The girl fell into the sea and was finally swallowed up by the merciless sea, never to return. 炎帝 知道 消息 之後 好 傷心 。 但係 佢 個 女 死 咗 就 係 死 咗 ， 點 做 都 帶 唔 返 佢 個 女 返嚟 。 But her daughter is dead, so she is dead, and there is nothing she can do to bring her back.

女娃 死 咗 之後 ， 佢 嘅 靈魂 變 咗 一 隻 雀仔 。 呢 隻 雀仔 嘅 叫聲 好似 講 緊 「 精衛 」 呢 兩 個 字 噉 ， 所以 佢 個 名 叫 「 精衛 」 。 The finch's call sounds like the word "Jingwei", so his name is "Jingwei". 精衛 痛恨 無情 嘅 大海 奪走 咗 自己 嘅 生命 ， 佢 決心 要 復仇 ！ Seaward hated the merciless sea for taking his life, and he was determined to get revenge! 佢 飛 向 西面 嘅 大山 ， 擔 咗 一 塊 石仔 ， 之後 再 飛 向 東面 嘅 大海 。 He flew towards the mountains in the west, took a stone, and then flew towards the sea in the east. 佢 一路 飛 ， 一路 悲鳴 ， 一 鬆 口 ， 石仔 就 跌入 大海 。

原來 精衛 係 想 填平 大海 。 大海 忍唔住 恥笑 佢 ： 「 雀仔 呀 雀仔 ， 你 無謂 嘥 心機 喇 —— 就算 你 做 一千 年 、 一萬 年 ， 都 唔使 旨意 將 我 填平 呀 ！ 」 The sea could not help but laugh at him, "Birdie, birdie, you won't make any use of your time - even if you do it for a thousand years, or ten thousand years, you won't fill me up with your will."

精衛 答 ： 「 就算 我 做 一千 年 、 一萬 年 ， 做到 世界 末日 ， 做到 宇宙 滅亡 ， 我 都 要 將 你 填平 ！ 」 Seibei replied, "Even if I have to work for a thousand years, ten thousand years, until the end of the world, until the end of the universe, I will fill you up!"

大海 話 ： 「 點解 你 咁 憎 我 呢 ？ The sea said, "Why do you hate me so much? 」 精衛 回答 ： 「 你 奪走 咗 我 年輕 嘅 生命 。 "You have taken my young life," replied David. 你 害 得 我 一 個 ， 就 會 再 害 第 二 個 、 第 三 個 人 。 If you have harmed me once, you will harm a second or a third person. 如果 我 唔 將 你 填平 ， 你 就 會 害死 更 多 嘅 人 ！ 」

精衛 不停 來回 飛 ， 佢 一路 飛 ， 一路 擔 石仔 或者 樹枝 。 Jingwei kept on flying back and forth, and he flew all the way, carrying stones or branches along the way. 過 咗 一 年 、 十 年 、 一百 年 ， 佢 都 冇 停 過 。 After one year, ten years, a hundred years, she has not stopped. 過 咗 一萬 年 ， 佢 嘅 決心 依然 有增無減 —— 就算 佢 嘅 力量 係 幾 咁 微小 ， 佢 相信 終 有 一 日 ， 佢 可以 將 東面 嘅 大海 填平 ！ After 10,000 years, her determination remains undiminished - even though her strength is so small, she believes that one day, she will be able to fill the eastern sea with water! 只要 精衛 一 日 喺度 ， 一 日 佢 都 唔會 停 。
